I dont think the medici's are very bright in general...I mean they did send a vampire after an immortal blood fountain and expected her to bring it back.

I think that Filia looks different enough from before she got Samson to where the Medici members don't actually recognize her.
like taking a picture of someone and removing their eyebrows, it makes someone look completely different.

Im surprised there isn't a thread on what exactly are the life gems limits. I say this because Lorenzo used the gem to stop aging...yet fortune can still age according to the canon info thread despite swallowing the damn thing.

Lorenzo shoved it up his rectum to stop aging, which was a stupid decision because he still looks old as fuck.

The mob Probably has a harder time finding Fillia because of the changed hairstyle. but this is thrown out the window when you realize Filia still goes to school (Why doesn't the mob look there is beyond me.) and when she met someone she knew they just think she dyed her hair.
 
Lorenzo was probably just touching the life gem from time to time to rejuvenate, while Fortune swallowed it and more than likely digested it, making her completely immortal.
 
Given that the newest Skullgirl is warring against the Medici, I think their priorities have "runaway schoolgirl" near the bottom of their list.

Maybe no one is looking for her. Perhaps Filia's parent's perished when Marie snapped Medici tower in half, and threw the top at Lorenzo's escape blimp.

In any case, New Meridian is like an analogue to New York City. Huge city to get lost in.

Great question! As Denizen mentioned, probably worth pursuing somewhere like the lore speculation thread...
(if Leviathan can resist Skullgirl influence, maybe Samson can too? And what about "soul contamination," the leading problem against hosts with multiple parasites, since technically, Skull Heart is like a super parasite?)

Actually correct me if Im wrong but isn't leviathan also dead and Squigly was revived by the skullheart/skullgirl? I assume Filia would die and be resurrected along with Samson
 
Painwheel seems to recognize Filia so I suppose the possibility that the Medicis don't recognize Filia because of parasitic influences are null. Or maybe the Medicis aren't close enough to Filia to recognize her as much as Painwheel.
 
I think anyone will recognize Filia, i mean, she is just with dark hair, and probably girls and women in the skullgirls universe have the habit of changing hair color, like the real world. But maybe the medicis are so big that they didn't notice the loss of some family member, or maybe they think that she was one of the medicis killed in Marie killing spree. Or maybe, they just can't afford to search her in such terrible times (They lost the life gem, and the Skullgirl is on a quest to destroy every single medici).

Which makes me think that Filia and Carol were really close, because of all things that happened to Painwheel, seeing/facing Filia was able to bring a little portion of sanity to her.
 
If that were the case, it wouldn't explain why Riccardo, who's part of Filia's kin, would seduce her, while Carol/Painwheel, Filia's old friend who's under mind-controk, recognizes her.

I think Samson, or maybe Filia's "dog", killed Filia's parents, leading the Medicis to assume that Filia and her parents have died. This makes them (Lorenzo included) believe that people who remotely look like Filia aren't actually Filia.

Speaking of Filia's place among the Medici, going by the portraits in Lorenzo's office, Filia might be his grand-daughter. If the Medici were royalty, Lorenzo is king, his eldest son the heir, and Filia would be a princess.

Filia's father looks like an older brother to Vitale. Not much is known about Filia's father, but Vitale seems to have a heavy interest in the criminal dealings of the Medici mob.

Coincidentally, Samson killing (and devouring) Filia's parents is part of the early drafts of SkullgirlS. (see 10th image in the Skullgirls section of blackbookalpha's website)

However, I don't see the current Samson as that amoral monster. Most likely Filia's parents are alive, sitting in their home, worried sick. They don't know where their daughter is. A Skullgirl is targeting the Medicis and Carol, Filia's friend, is missing. Filia still wears her school uniform so I don't think she has been a runaway that long.

Yeah, it seems like Samson is not a bad guy, maybe criminal, but not a murderer.

Don't forget that Ricardo saw Filia from behind with her hat. He only ever really saw the side of her face and it was half hidden under that hat. I don't think you'd be able to recognize anyone unless you knew them well in that case.

My theory is that Filia's Dad double-crossed the Mafia in some way and Black Dhalia (or random mobster hitman) was sent in to kill them as payback.

I can picture Filia's mother betraying the Medici's, not her father.
 
So the possibility is that the Medicis hunted down and killed Filia's parents, while Samson gave Filia amnesia (if it isn't a mere parasitic effect) so she wouldn't report herself in to the police/Medicis?
 
Maybe Samson erased her memories to protect her from the medicis.

And now, i have ideas to put Fukua in the story.

In Filia's story she never directly comes into contact with any of the medici's aside from Cerebella (kinda). Honestly I'm starting to think maybe nobody CARED. Like...obviously her parents would be worried sick, but the rest of the family jsut doesn't care? We haven't seen any evidence of Filia's father necessarily being in bad standing or backstabbing the mafia, but with everything else going on, she might be a side priority. Additionally, it might be that the politics in the family make Filia's standing of importance small. Not necessarily meaning she wouldn't abuse her position before amnesia, but also wouldn't really have any influence through her father and the family just has a stricter heirarchy that makes Filia next to meaningless as far as everything goes?

If Filia's family doesn't care about her missing, that would be sad, because Mrs. Victoria is described as finding a missing student (in her hypothetical story mode) who is most likely Filia.

Women and girls in skullgirls also have the tendency to change their skin color and the color of their clothes so they can look like Guilty Gear characters or Annie.
