the problem is that the non mammals look like they're from a completely different game than the deviantart furries.

They actually don't, you just have a bias built up against it.

I'm more akin to associating anthropomorphic characters with the teenage mutant ninja turtles, banjo, conker, bugs bunny etc than I am with a culture I really haven't been exposed much to.

Man I love Egoraptor and I love the design of that character, but I can take seriously that character if the voice is by him.

Also I don't like how they are trying to get fans with Benny and Arin and making them characters, even if they look good they also look forced in the game, imagine the Skullgirls IGG with a Zone-Tan tier.

But it is rare only 19k at the moment with all the furry fandom in the world, I know for sure they pay a lot for comissions.

I don't think this is the sort of game most furries would be interested in. From what I've seen it looks like a fighting game first.

I feel the game does not have furries at all. It may sound redundant or stupid, but I think the animals are anthropomorphic because they're not part human, just animals with human-like body parts, although the art style does look a bit furry, possibly because of the thin drawing lines on Vincent.

The more cat people there are, the less likely I am to buy it.

When I see the run-of-the-mill furries, I start to fall asleep. Then, when I see the anthro characters that are more than just the deviantart standard they started with, I wake up. Still, I just haven't seen a lot that fills me with confidence that this game is actually going to be any good. I would consider a purchase once released, but I won't be funding this game beforehand.

So I was running around the net last night and came upon this video showing what looks like a fighting game animation for a Raptor with a Rap Battle featuring Egoraptor in the background.:

So I looked at the page it lead back to.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/beastsfurygame/keep-beasts-fury-going

This has far from reached it's main goal, and those stretch goals look incredibly enticing to me.

Why have I brought up a discussion about a game that isn't even a thing yet?

Cause if you go down the page...These guys are trying to follow in the footsteps of Skullgirls, breaking fighting game tradition and bringing new mechanics into the genre as Skullgirls did.

Here's the kicker. One of the people who worked on Skullgirls is also participating in this project. They mainly need this money to hire more staff.

So what say all of you? Yay or nay? Should this be funded, if so, will you donate?

Oh, I didn't see this, but that's what I get for not using the search function I guess.

Kinda sad they won't reach their goal : (

@Night Phyre: That honestly hurts, man. The market needs more furry-related games IMO. Just look at Dust, Dusty's Revenge and Solatorobo. The last one being a very underappreciated game that involves furries.

I know I'll probably get some disagreement, but it's my opinion that many of the guys who make furry games do so with more love and care than most companies give most of their game series.

dont buy this shit guys I've done a lot of research and it's actually super sketchy, these developers are very unreliable and not even the furry community wants to support it. I wanted to support this game but these people are childish assholes.

What's with the change of heart? What did you find? Was it their facebook page filled with stuff they couldn't afford, or was it the relying constantly on famous youtubers?

For some reason I have a feeling they will be back in a month with another 5k promise of a demo with 2 characters done campaign.

No you would be wrong wont be back until the demo is complete.

Some people people sent me links to some threads, a large portion of people have jumped ship, and one of the programmers is a notorious flake (and an accused rapist)

I've also had extremely negative interactions with them over social media.

Fuck furries.

Someone seems a little upset you were the one who kept spreading negatives comments around facebook and youtube and i politely said to stop posting them we already had a in depth FAQ explaining the situation but well enough you could not leave it alone so how exactly is that a negative interaction ?.

With the latter two, the furry designs were actually GOOD. As much I liked Dust, it most certainly did suffer Deviantart furry syndrome when it came to portraits and such. Dust himself actually was cool right up until you see his face.

It's all well and good to want to see games with anthro animals but not when they're of this quality. Not to mention the myriad of other issues that have been brought up such as their bungling of funds, and what @Grangach added in. If anything, games of Solatorobo quality would be far, far better than this.

So I was really hoping to keep my anonymity on this board, not for any other reason than that it is nice to not have everyone know exactly who you are. Unfortunately the assholes at beast fury have correctly identified me by my post (I assumed they weren't following this thread after the first round of questions.) This isn't the first time that they have valiantly defended themselves from my personal attacks, so lets go down my laundry list of offences.

Yes, I know, it's a pretty cruel comment, and they sent me a personal message afterwards

I also made a comment on their facebook, I don't remember what it was about, but here's the conversation we had:

Edit: I remember now, it was when they announced that they were adding stretch goals. I said why you add stretch goals when we haven't even gotten funded yet.

I deleted my comments, because at the time, I thought these where reasonable people, and that I should give them the benefit of the doubt.

But I couldn't resist the urge to bash their game, and so I left this comment in a youtube thread

FAj6nQW.png

And so they politely reminded me to stop spreading nasty lies

Oh and I did find the source

Of course, when a group of lets players have an opinion, you really have to just respect that. You can only send them angry messages when the're just normal kickstarter backers.

This brings us to right now. They found my post and rubbed it in my face yet again.

I thought about feigning ignorance, but I cant deny, I have been SO negative from the start.

rishiHN.png

Now, this kickstarter is GOING to fail, but just to make sure...

CLhhUFU.png

Oh if anyone is still interested, it's limited to 100. Not that they are ever going to release a complete game.

Don't back this game financially or emotionally. It's being run by a group of manchildren with one of the worst public relations managers I've ever seen. I love skullgirls, I love the skullgirls community, and I guess I just wanted lightning to strike twice. But it's not here, even the furry community doesn't want this project.

Oh, and I dont have a screenshot, but I was following one of their art streams and read this little gem:

Beastsfury: i dont relaly care for skullgirls i talked ot mikez thats enough for me lol

tldr: fuck you

Wow, get a PR rep who can type.

@beastsfury: the best you can do is inform negative people and correct misinformation. Getting mad at someone and telling them to stop posting will only ever make things worse.

I knew it was you it from the start. I'm really glad you canceled your pledge and you honestly think it phases me ? if the kickstarter fail's not a chance over the last 3 weeks my community fanbase has doubled and have gotten animators willing to work for free i see no failure here.

yeah, lets see how that works out for you. I'm sure they're going to love being bitched at for voicing any criticism.

Man, I'm sorry, but this game looks like it needs to have a major priority overhaul before coming back to KS or IGG. I just don't see this game as a success unless you get things straight.

Telling people you don't need their money is the best way to run a kickstarter.

Moreover past the bad PR, this game literally does not have enough money to fund characters, and they are adding NEW CHARACTERS? How does that make any sense?

dont worry apparently their fanbase has doubled and they have artists that will animate FOR FREE!

Yeah... I didn't want to speak up when Beast's Fury's only (serious) issue was financial incompetence, but now they're confronting skeptical former fans saying "HEY WE DON'T NEED YOU GUYS, WE HAVE LOOOOOADS OF NEW FANS".

I'm sure having a bunch of young blood work on your game without pay for extended amounts of time will work out just fine. Maybe they'll finish the characters you originally raised $21K for and didn't finish yourselves, when you opted to put basic movement and attacks on the backburner for important animations such as this. Maybe they'll even finish all these shiny new characters you are putting out concepts of, before you've even proven you can complete the original ones!

People are rightfully skeptical of Beast's Fury because the developers don't seem to know what they're doing, and people don't like that when their money is involved. You've helped prove their suspicions right by telling people to not donate to your KS because you apparently already have enough support. Well then, bon voyage! Hope that "support" does something great for you.

How was any criticism you gave constructive ?

I was kind of interested in this game, so at first I was kind of bummed that this game wasn't going to even reach its first stretch goal. But the bad PR and the fact that this game keeps getting too big for its britches makes it feel justified.

Also, you've gotten animators that will work for free? Does that mean you've got more people on the staff, or did you stop paying the only two animators, who were working part-time, you've got?

Beast's Fury Indiegogo update (May 22) said:
Since our production on this game has been going so slow (only having 2 animators working in their spare time) we've decided to SPEED UP production by hosting a new KickStarter campaign in order to hire more animators and be able to afford everyone working FULL TIME instead of part time.

First off I wanted to find ways to get people past the furryness, which was turning everyone off the project that I tried to show it to.. When you released the stretch goals before you got funded I just questioned why, which is a reasonable question. All I did with the tbfp is relay information to someone and you freaked out till I gave you a source. I'm not sure why you take the opinions of a group of lets players so gracefully when you can't handle the screaming masses complaining.

I'm not sure what your idea of public relations is, but harassing people who say things you don't like is not going to get you any fans.

I think they'll make the initial goal from a last minute surge, iffy on if they'll make stretch goals.

Played Beast's Fury Chibi and I got myself a tie with another player. (I am blah by the way)

yo beastsfury, get a new PR guy, seriously

no hate towards your game and i'm still ready to be convinced that beasts fury is worth buying however you're digging a hole here
