Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

yeah arcsys has been having some pretty lame business practices lately
part of why i haven't been as interested in their product in recent times

Yeah....I love the P4 characters to death, but all of them (with the exception of Yu) were EXACTLY LIKE THIS.

Edit: Aw yeah, Rise confirmed! Here's hoping she gets Valentine's st.HK(3) except with a microphone stand instead of an IV pole. Also, sing properly to raise your attack and defense!

I too love the P4 characters and I love knowing about what they've been up to, but, JEEZUS the time it takes to even get into the TV world is forever with all that dialogue. I don't mind it though cuz I am a fan of visual novel games myself, but it is a very big issue to wait around 20 minutes just to get to my first fight.

I will ask the same question that has constantly been asked: will he still have on those shorts? And if not, are his glasses DLC actually just another pair of shorts? (Youngster Joey palette pls)
 
Ken 'll have the same shorts he had back in P3. Except he's probably gotten bigger since then so they'll appear smaller.
 
Ken has the potential to look the most radically different compared to the other P3 characters because of his young age. Rise confirmed pretty much confirms him too. Just hoping at least Adachi (they better not have teased an NPC), Koromaru, and optimistic thought of P3 MC can make it too.

Not really hyped about Rise (not a combat character and was one of the reasons why Ryotaru/Nanako Dojima playable was never a thing past the planning phase), but I do enjoy her shadow version and the dungeon theme that will come with it so at least one positive was produced for me regarding this reveal. Ken is also cool too from a design standpoint and his spear should be able to shit on Mitsuru poking game.
 
I think Rise being playable is more of a way of advertising another game where Rise is playable

This is literally the best part about potential Ken. I like me some Mit-chan, but damn, she can get pretty annoying with dat 5a that reaches just shy of 1/3 of the screen.

If Atlus finally bent it's "MUST BE CANON" rules to admit Rise actually fighting, I guess Dojima/Nanako isn't completely out of the question, though I still have my doubts.

This game was gonna sell millions overseas already.

Now its gonna have enough sales to make Mr. Krabs try to buy Atlus in exchange for the Krusty Krab (and all those squeaky pickles).
 
Well, before the little NeoGAF leak, I would've guessed she'd probably have some cosplay related fighting style. Though it wouldn't surprise me if she had a autograph projectile (a la Dan from MvSF)

Sidenote: get Gravity Rush and Tearaway if you can with the Vita. Great games. I'm not gonna tell you to get Persona 4: The Golden because well, buying a Vita is more or less synonymous with getting it.

I got the money for a Vita, it's just a matter of waiting for a bundle that's worth it.
right now the only bundle with the new model is Borderlands 2, and I got that on PS3

just get a normal Vita and a Memory card since those aren't included.
 
PS Vita Bundles come with the game, a memory card, and sometimes a movie too.
For no extra cost.

oh, I didn't know they also came with a memory card. I still would recommend getting one of the bigger memory cards since I doubt you'll get a big one in the bundle.
 
Okay, apparently there are other interesting things on the preview page:

  • Console P4U2 is coming to Japan on August 28 for 6,980 yen (unfortunately, this might mean more region-locking shenanigans)
  • The story might tie into P4DAN.
  • A new mode, Golden Arena, has more RPG elements than usual, including customization, skill learning and Social Links. This mode will become available in arcades when the next patch drops on Friday.
 
I'd say it's like a mix of that and GG's survival mode with more RPG elements than ever before. Gonna have to see it in action, though.

The opponent's head will burst from just hearing that super high pitched note at the end of the song.


Also, please give Rise a slide attack in the form of a stage dive.
 
Oh God, I am in conflict now about who to play in Ultimax Labrys, Yukari, Aigis, Rise or Junpei, there is just too many decisions to make.
