Feels really forced. I'd rather not.
yep, although since the grumps have covered it, it can be easier to spread news about it.
I'm seeing 2 major points overlooked by all the people saying "but gaemz r spensiv!!" 1: Thanks to Skullgirls, they're already multi-millionaires to begin with, which gives them the funding they need. 2: They didn't need 3.5 million dollars to develop Skullgirls, a game of extremely similar quality. (And thanks to the lack of online multiplayer + the funding these folks already have to begin with post-Skullgirls, this game will be MUCH easier for them to make than Skullgirls was, without an additional 1.5 - 3.5 million.) Let's be real here: they don't need another 1.5 - 3.5 million dollars to compound the millions they already have. They can clearly develop a working prototype without it, and no, you really don't need 3.5 million dollars to finish developing a game that already has an engine and core assets in place, when the team working on it are already millionaires to begin with. These aren't indies who are barely getting by and on the verge of being homeless every month due to a lack of funds that we're talking about, despite how some people keep trying to frame them.
Source please! I want to print it out and frame it.
oh it's on the GG Video. I can't refind the guy who said it, but I think he had a John in his name.
i know... but it's sorta like gold digging, you'll find a ton of shit but once in a while you'll get one tiny nugget of pure stupid gold. and once you do, it's all worth it ... for about 15 seconds.
you do know you can link comments by right clicking the time (date) next to the name's post, right? XD
no i make youtube videos I don't use it as a site to talk to other people.
He built an entire character of swearing and being rude for the sake of attention. I don't think we can tell anything about what he thinks about the campaign until he makes a video of it. I just hope he actually does his research.
[colo... uhg.
Jim Sterling spiked in popularity after the "Slaughtering Grounds" incident with Digital Homicide Studios last year. Just to reassure you, he's a pretty popular dude.
A reviewer for Destructoid and the Escapist, has done some things with Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation. From the Wiki page, it seems he'd really like Lab Zero's work and open development style. In particular:
Wikipedia said:From the views espoused by his character in The Jimquisition, Jim positions himself firmly as someone who believes in the rights of the developers as creators to express themselves fully,[16] while disparaging the industry selling the material, who he has often cynically branded as being over-interested in making money and under-interested in producing a quality product.[17][18] He bills himself as a consumer advocate.
....He regularly takes aim at shovelware and often talks about the practice of "asset flipping"; purchasing ready-made assets from asset stores provided by game engines like Unity or Unreal, and re-selling them as a game with little-to-no modification.
You missed a place value unless someone just donated 10k. That said at this rate we could hit another one today.
