The second leak is a little more flakey. Palutena was announced and technically a pokemon from x or y, but not chrom, shulk, or the chorus men.

Rosalina was also missed entirely. So up to this point we were at 90% correct in terms of characters which took a hit to roughly 70 in a single day...not to mention the leaker missing the day entirely. However, the leaker saying x will appear now and being wrong is a precedent within the leak. All 6 of the initial characters were supposedly originally going to be at last years E3. At this years he basically stated the same thing but with the information from the second leak.

With the Ghost Rythmn heavan enemy and his accuracy before this point. I think it's fair to see that his information is outdated rather than outright wrong. Or he's a troll with actual information. Which happens from time to time. So while this leak isn't gospel it should at least be kept in the back of peoples heads going into October.

But the conclusion from all this is that even with all the information we have there will always be surprises in smash bros.

Leak popped up the day before E3 when Nintendo was setting up(extremely likely to have gotten a glimpse of a character or two) and even then he/she got half the characters at incorrect times; the only reason we didn't kill the leak then was because of WFT being "unpredictable", especially considering the leak was, again, the day before E3.

Let's not even get into the fact that he didn't call it a leak until after things were announced...

The guy's later updates were also partially false.

I cannot see this leak as 100% true. The leak got a few things right, but so have many other disproved leaks; yes, false leaks can have an ounce or two of truth. It just took longer the the leaker to step on his own toes.

There were suspicious elements throughout the leak, but the correct elements were the only things many wanted to see.

I LOVE IT! So many female characters! Let's look at the roster female to roster entirety for each game, shall we? And these are the DEFINITE, canon females, not questionables like Jiggs.

Smash 64: 1/12, 8% (Samus)
Melee: 5/27, 18% (Samus, Peach, Zelda, Shiek, Nana)
Brawl: 6/39, 15% (Samus/ZSS, Peach, Zelda, Shiek, Nana, Ivysaur)
Sm4sh: (Currently) 10/39, 26% (Samus, ZSS, Peach, Zelda, Shiek, Rosa, WFT, Lucina, Palutena, Robin)

More than a quarter of the cast in this game is female! And all the characters haven't even been revealed yet! This is fantastic.

No, what you're thinking of was a joke where one of the Treehouse guys was pretending to backpedal in order to not give away Sheik's true identity.
Because that was a spoiler once.

Personally I prefer to think of Sheik as female, but I usually just give them gender neutral pronouns because I'm on tumblr a lot and don't want to spur the hoard.

With each and every newcomer revealed, Smash 4 makes it harder and harder for me to pick a newcomer I want to main.

Ughhhhhhghghhghhhghhhhghhhh.

Also, I've only ever played Fire Emblem: Awakening (very recently, actually), and it's a great fucking game. I'm total garbage at it, and it kinda stings when my well-thought out strategy is completely blown up by a minute, missing link that didn't cross my mind, but it's still fun. Looking forward to playing Lucina AND Robin, who are both better choices than Chrom.

Which is really inspiring/amazing, because apparently, Fire Emblem wasn't in a very good place before Awakening was done, they were even convinced that it'd be the very last FE game ever made.
Thankfully, that's no longer the case.

I just hope its not 50/50 to a T because I find having ENTIRELY equal gender ratios to be the most unrealistic and pandering thing ever.

So Lucina is essentially the Roy of this game.

Her attack animations do not emphasis the tip, but rather the mid point of her sword.

Her Up-B has a different arc than Marth's

Her Side-B has different attacks (and likely to get more)

Counter is different looking

All in all, very much a Roy/Toon Link, which I think is fine for characters as used as Marth. He's going to be in every tournament regardless, why not mix it up a bit by having another version with different properties.
