Hey guys, you hear the news

there's a character in SG called Beowulf

Maybe we should talk about him here.

In seriousness, the new super is pretty amazing, and still does a fair bit of damage scaled if you do a taunt-buffed splash.

So, is beowulf going to get a nice red palette? I want to see if i can get one that matches para's c4 and eliza's i-no palette

also does he have any good white colors?? I want to see if i can match double's white green pallet and eliza's kill la kill one

I'm closing in on my Beo universal. I was having issues getting my head around when the lose the chair during the combo, but I think I've got it. Tackle is a godsend for combo simpletons like me.

Question: does chair kick > hop MP > HK stagger work on everybody?

yes it should last i remember trying it. timing is just a tab bit more difficult on some.

Well, he has Riker for red and El Santo for white, those are pretty boss.

How so? It's the last part of my combo, so I haven't done it enough to see the quirks.

ahh, didnt realize it was easier now. havent played much lately, especially now since i think my motherboard shorted from the recent rain storm power outage at my place.

i suck at explaining things. but i time the small pop each character has when they hit the peak after getting hit by the chair. i would mash the hop mp or mk until i figure out the timing on each character. the different weight classes rhythm varried slightly

Feels like a really easy link to me, to be honest. Can even do it on BB and Double now, the chair into dash j.MP link is harder, much harder than the j.MP to j.HK.

Well that whole conversation managed to purge this thread of all the nerds so I'm all for returning to normalcy.
I'm loving the new updates, it feels like I'm playing a new character every time. Without visual representation of the accumulated hype I can lose track of where I'm at, but it's no big deal. I like the changes to Grab Mode especially, they feel a lot more forgiving of mistakes.
 
That was quite the detour there. But for beo stuff, he's got some pretty new things now. Gringo killer just feels so satisfying to use, but I havent really put time into playing wulf lately cause finals.
I got Branden. People spell it wrong all the time. Ive had teachers think my parents spell my name wrong, cause the irish spelling is too strange for their american minds. Kinda sucks to have that along a seemingly hard last name to pronounce. yeah
 
The new super seems really fun in theory/training, both within combos and for those situation when you just know the opponent will try to jump in on you. Costs meter unlike excelebella, but a more fool proof input.

Also, whoever ends up as Beo's voice actor, I'm looking forward to the taunt howl. Between that thing, tackle and the double headbutt, he has a satisfying number of moves wolf head-on.

You mean to/too/two or there/their/they're?
Cuz pallet (pal-ut, flat wooden thing) / palate (pal-at, the top of your mouth) / palette (pal-et, artist's board with paint on it or a color scheme for something) sound different, eh-heh.

So I got a chance to try out Beowulf's new super. I feel like Penguin Ref should only get the 3 count when killing a character.

I agree, super friggen pumped to hear this man come to life.

I got stuck with Andrew, so... can't get anymore loser white boy...
