uh... Don't know... That area is a little... funny. If you see storms hitting Philly there is a 50/50 chance of it hitting King of Prussia. A little bit north from there it can be a 40/60 or even a 30/70 chance of it hitting. So best case bring a heavy jacket with you. If it's not snowing then it's cold out there.
 
Ok I don't remember if I asked this before but how the hell do I get from the airport to the venue without paying for a $50 lyft? I'm getting in at like 1030am on thursday (overnight flight was way cheaper shut up).
 
I'm pretty sure there's a shuttle.

the hotel website says that there is a shuttle that leaves every 30m from ground transit run by a shuttle company, but also says to call for reservations

I haven't called yet to see if you only need a reservation to get to the airport from the hotel or if you need one to even get picked up at the airport, I was planning on doing that closer to the event

I'm guessing it just leaves every 30 minutes and you call to confirm that you'll be boarding but I don't know how much the shuttle costs

@Mike_Z It's not entirely impossible and you have an excellent point. I'll bounce the idea off of the KPB Production Team before taking to Big E himself. I don't see any problems arising, but I just wanna cover my bases.

Also, real fucking talk, the cap effectively does not exist if it's going to keep being raised. The only reason for the cap to logically exist at this point is to artificially scare people into registering for his tournament, which is a really scummy tactic that I do not condone. It might be effective now, but it's severely negative reinforcement, not a sustainable strategy, counter-intuitive to people who actually assume the cap means anything, insulting to the communities who had low caps, and genuinely contributing to my regretting supporting this tournament. It is a deceptive and cheap marketing trick that doesn't positively contribute to the scene in any way.

Originally it was if we reached 80 entrants before a certain date we would get an extra pot bonus and have the cap extended. We didn't reach it in time, but the cap was extended anyways.
 
I don't really see the problem with caps that can be extended with pre reg. It cuts down on last minute entries and keeps them relative to the size of the brackets. Logistically speaking it's pretty smart.

Originally it was 64 until deadline, then we hit the deadline and it was extended to 80 and a new deadline. We hit 80 after the second deadline and now it's 128. At this point, it's just a cheap marketing tactic.
 
I think of it as a tool to keep brackets as unfucked as possible.

mmm no it was extended to 80 before any deadline and was only extended cuz sonicfox asked him too

I can see the reasoning behind having a cap for last minute on-site registrations, but it seems kind of pointless for pre-reg. See how many pre-regs you get, then once those are closed base the cap on that.

And on that note, today's the last day to pre-reg for all you slackers out there!
 
I cant to see who didn't have enough time to pre reg or "forgot" good lord please do it.

To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, is anyone bringing PS3 setups?

I'll be working on pools either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully have them done by this weekend, this is my doing and separate from the rest of the Big E tournaments. So I have no idea when pools for other games will be posted.

It'll be 8 pools. Two players make it out to form top 16.

-Pools is 2/3 ALL THE WAY THROUGH

-Top 16 is 2/3, however depending on time I can talk to E and see if we can get it to be 3/5

-I'll do everything I can to ensure top 8 at the very least is 3/5 for everyone.

-The pools will be region seeded to the best of my ability, but keep in mind that a lot of people will be from tristate and other ec regions so i'll do the best I can with that. No one from the same region will be playing each other early on though.

-Skill seeding, right now the plan is to have at least 4 skill seeds in all 8 pools. Right now I have the seed 1's set in place once I get a full reg list I can make seed 2-4.

-Lastly, the goal is to have 4 setups and have pools be two at a time. 2 setups for each pool. So pools 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8 will be ran at the same time. Since we have 4 blocks of time to get pools done.

Is the post-pools stuff going to be early Sunday? I mean, I'm not expecting it to run later than say Street Fighter, but I'm so used to SG2E being on Saturday that I booked my flight for Sunday night.

Top 8/potentially top 16 is Sunday yuh. Its on the same time as UMVC3, before MK and USF4.

I can pretty much guarantee I will be available Sunday. This tournament is stacked af lmao if you think I'm making it out of pools

I believe you have an exponential leveling curve, and once your stats shoot up they'll really shoot up.
 
I can't wait to finally make it past loser's finals in pools.

Jokes aside, is ANYONE gonna be at the venue and/or checked into their rooms on Thursday? Reason I ask is because I need a place to house SIG for the evening before things kick off proper on Friday. Any & all help will be greatly appreciated -AND- this won't be an act of charity, neither. Whoever helps will be compensated for their generosity.

Outside of that, I'm looking forward to working with you lovely people again and I eagerly anticipate the show you're gonna put on!

Moreso just for a really stacked tournament I would like to have gameplay-centric commentary for top 8. Broken Loose / Peanuts were nothing short of amazing at CEOtaku and i'd like to have them go again.

Don't get me wrong, you're extremely passionate and mad hype and I really love that <3
