Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra

Not really, you're not thinking of the bigger picture here.
The Avatar spirit still exists, Raava and Vaatu are still separated. These major imbalances in their world still persist. The mission of The Red Lotus is to achieve true balance and freedom. Zaheer was radical, ruthless, and misguided, but the basis of his ideals was still mostly just.

In this season there was a way for both the good guys and bad guys to succeed. I believe that this way is the ideal path that the story could take. Unfortunately the writers don't know it, or if they do they choose not to take it.
Then no one really won, just like wars in real life.

Zaheer lost his family, only partially succeeded, and is back in prison.
Korra is broken, spirits are still in Republic City, the Red Lotus goons are out lurking in the back, and a big portion of the world is in complete dissarry, and now she's nan powerless to stop it like she usually would, wheelchair bound and dependent on Asami for clothing, and presumably bathing, cleaning and eating.

Now that I think about it, Korra might have the Avatar series equivalent of Minamata Disease.

WHICH IS REALLLLYYYYY FUCKING BAD

If she even has a shadow of that, that is not a win.

Exactly, in the context of this story both parties were foolish, and it's fault of the writers.
Maybe next season everything will be set right, but I'm not getting my hopes up anymore.

The good guys still won, it just wasn't a happy ending. There is a difference.

It's not the "writers fault", that's the story.

There were no inconsistencies, no plot holes, nothing bad happened here.

You just didn't like the story.

And neither party achieved either of their full checklist of goals.

That's a draw.

All I'm saying is that the story could have written better, and I know what could have been done to accomplish that. Also I never said that I didn't like it. It's Avatar, I always like Avatar. I just didn't love it.

Avatar Checklist:Fix Spirit Problem
Bring Airbenders back to former glory
Stop the Red Lotus

Red Lotus Checklist:
Kill Avatar to stop avatar state forever
Topple kingdoms to spread anarchy.
Spread their message.

To be honest, the Red Lotus has more checks than the Avatar team, because the Red Lotus wasn't really stopped.

Also, I have kind of a problem with you thinking you could just write a better story.
If you like your idea more, that's cool, but to think your idea is just the better story, I really don't see how. There really isn't much more the writers could have done in this season.

No, I believe could help write a better story.

Are we done? This was a civil discussion, but everything's been said hasn't it?

Asami-Korra OTP would feel kind of forced to me. I know some fans want that, but I think it'll be better if they don't have a relationship, guy or girl.

EDIT: Kuvira (the woman that was talking to Korra's dad) is voiced by Zelda Williams.

Also Asami going after Korra would be baller as shit.

Not because of 'oooohh lesbians' but because of the setup being there.
I'm usually not interested in lesbian pairings, but Korra-Asami is the first lesbian pairing that a Western cartoon made me believe could happen since Bubblegum-Marceline (and I can't remember any others before that). They continuously have these moments that seem really strong, as they've been bonding for the past two seasons (basically what you said). It was that moment with her in the wheelchair and Asami holding her hand and knowing (or getting the implication) that she'd been the one taking care of Korra the past week or two was what really done it for me. The scene with Asami getting Korra ready felt more intimate than many other romantic scenes done in the past.

Also, kinda forgot, but I really enjoyed seeing Jinora with tattoos. Kinda miss her hair, but still was cool.

I don’t think they have the guts to pull it. Its gonna be a "best buddies"-thing with Asami and Korra will still date a guy, Mako for example. Or they don’t address Korra in a romantic way ever again.

I mean,
the issue with Korrasami could possibly (I'm not entirely sure) be the same as with Bubbline, that is, in some countries in which the show airs that kind of thing is illegal.
Though I don't know if the fact that it's solely on the Internet changes anything.

Even if they don't OUTRIGHT state what's going, people only need a couple of hints.

Kind of like Setsuna and Kokone(Was that her name, don't remember) from Negima!

It started off as a one sided crush, but quietly developed into a legitimate relationship.

Even in the epilogue Ken was never direct about it, he just left enough breadcrumbs for everyone to get what was going on there, they married.

I'm thinking the Avatar writers may go for it.

It seems that everything with Mako is sincerely squared off, that hug Korra gave him near the end of the show was a "you're one of my best friends" kind of hug, and Mako understood that.

It's implied that Asami took care of Korra by herself for 2 weeks, her father wasn't in the room, nor her mother, nor Mako or anyone else. Just Asami, THE ENTIRE SEASON 3 is just Korra and Asami. Who does Korrah pair with whenever she ventures out? Asami. In the old show, the kids were kind of put together on a formula, usually Toph and Sokka would venture out and fight together, Katara and Aanng would try solving a problem together, but never to this level. Every single time something happens and the group breaks off, Asami and Korra are always together, either by coincidence or purpose.

I don't think the writers are going to pull out any new guys out of their ass to just have Korra or Asami be attracted to in the last season, and I don't see the writers ending the series with both of them being romantically alone.

We'll probably just get a couple of "fruit tart" and "Sokka spinning his girlfriend's flower necklace" level of hints and everyone will know.

Well, they could always just pull the worst ending like they did with Aang, and just be like "yeah, all that doubt and awkwardness and uncertainty went away somehow and now they kiss and are now lovey dovey" and throw Korra back with Mako. I would be so angry.

But yeah. All I would need is some hints. It's enough for me with Adventure Time, it'd be enough for me here. Maybe we'll get a song like I'm Just Your Problem :p

I thought book 3 had a good ending because...
it showed that the avatar isn't invincible and Korra is still only human. I honestly can't wait to see what Book 4 will bring us because some people believe Korra won't make it at the end of Book 4(she barely survived this season).
I also thought the villains were awesome this season.
It's a bird! It's a plane! no it's Zaheer.

So after owning the first season of Korra and never having taken it out of the plastic for over a year, I'm finally going to start watching it today.

What if it was a gift?

I really don't understand why people keep saying she's gonna die at the end of the next season. Aang didn't have to die for his show to end. I also highly doubt that they'll end the entire series (since they've said there's no more Avatar cartoons happening) on a depressing note. Especially after this last season. Who wants two depressing seasons finales in a row? Remember, this is still a Nick cartoon, not an dark and edgy fanfiction.

Well through out all the seasons Korra has come pretty close to death with season 3 being the closest to death she's ever been, so I can understand why people would think that. She may not die next season, but I believe something will happen to her that will permanently damage her for the rest of her life. Also Nick has had it's fair share of dark cartoons(or dark moments), so while Korra may not be completely dark next season I don't expect it to be light-hearted the whole time either.

If there is a next season... I mean, why is the best animated show in the Western hemisphere on television, not on television? Is Nickelodeon trying to sabotage the series? Jumped the premiere, low advertising, obscure timeslot, limited broadcast, rushed cycle (burn through the season by premiering a couple episodes at a time) and then they push it to online-only.

Anyways, it was an amazing finale. One of many highlights being that P'Li takedown. You can't watch that and not cringe.

Too many loose ends. For instance, what was Aiwei's motivation? Chilling with the metal clan as a truth seer and adviser for years hoping one of his Red Lotus buddies would suddenly get air bending powers?

My friend said a possible reason was that since during season 2 the leaked episodes were getting a high amount of views, they wanted to switch over to being online only. But it's weird that it started on TV and then with no advertisement at all it's switched to online mid-season. Other reasons that have plagued recent cartoons could be it too (toy sales, not hitting the demographics the execs want, etc.). Not too sure on toys, but the execs are always meddling in stuff.

It's also not appealing to kids as much as it is to teenagers. Kids these days don't appreciate a good action cartoon anymore.

It's a cycle with each new Sonic game, too.

October 3rd 2014 or 2015?

jk... book 4: Balance - LETZ GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

So soon! Yet, still online. C'mon Nick. Put the TV show on TV! Take a cue from AMC's Breaking Bad marathons and pump up your ratings numbers by acquainting new viewers from the start. Put Spongebob on the shelf for a week and start schedule-bending.

I'm happy for Korra's speedy return (three weeks from Friday!) but I'm concerned the audience it deserves is missing out.

October 3rd like this October 3rd? Cause... holy shit, I was prepared to be waiting like a mother fucker on book 4.

Looks like Nickelodeon want to be rid of it ASAP!

Which is sad. But at the same time, I don't want them to milk it to death (Like simpsons)!

Milking it is only bad when it's a story based thing. Stuff like Simpsons and South Park can get away with it. But yeah, I'd much prefer they move any stories they want to tell with characters already introduced to the comics.

I don't know if I'd be for or against a Teen Titans Go styled remake of Avatar with a larger focus on comedy over story.
I mean, one that was actually good of course.
