@Some Person , not sure if you changed your steam name, but do you know who is in charge of Manesix? I can't seem to find contact info.

I guess I'll try to reach out via twitter for now. On stream they said they are not from CA, and their IGG page shows a girl from CA taking their emails so maybe that's their campaign person I guess? I'll keep digging

edit: wow that "some girl on IGG" is the producer and creator of MLP. I feel dumb.

OK, I talked to Twin Galaxies, and visited the location, and we ironed stuff out. So without further ado I'm happy to announce....

SALTY IS MOVING TO TWIN GALAXIES, and to SATURDAY!
Starting THIS SATURDAY, October 24th.

General Info:
- Parking in the lot next to the building, do not park in marked RESERVED spots next to the building.
- Outside food is allowed but you MUST CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. No exceptions, do not leave trash around. (We shouldn't have a problem with this anyway.) We can probably order pizza if we want...?
- Can start between 7-8 PM, until 1 AM. We should determine a specific start time! We can possibly negotiate this after several weeks, depending.
- We have to answer the doorbell to let our people in. This isn't a big deal, but if you hear it, go open the door.

Pros:
- No venue fee!
- Free drinks of various types (yes, really).
- Couches, soft chairs, nice lighting, great atmosphere. Working microphones and multiple cameras.
- Someone else runs the stream there! We can do commentary etc, but they have a person for streaming.
- Retro arcade machines on the sides of the room and a MAME machine. With working sticks, even.
- A side room with PCs, which can/will also have Skullgirls, and we can also get GGAC+R PC on them I'm sure.
- We can play SG, GG, and VSav. CRTs ARE ALLOWED, provided we can figure out where to put them. There are tables and stuff but logistics need to be checked in practice. Hi Rob!
- They are perfectly happy with us switching to bi-weekly once RebelUp starts again.
- They want us to be there.

Cons:
- It's smaller than UGC (most places are, though). 20 people SEEM like they can fit, but we should start off SMALLER to check. If you are a sometimes-attendee or might be busy Saturday, you might want to skip this week until we have done a trial run. Simply for space reasons, we should really limit the first week to 20 or under and see how it goes. They do not enforce a limit besides the space available.
- WE HAVE TO BRING OUR OWN SETUPS INCLUDING MONITORS. Outside of the PC room they do not have known-lagless monitors, only large monitors, which are likely laggy. So this limits how many setups we can have. I can bring one monitor and my kits.
- Fanatiq wants to come. :^P

Q: No venue fee and free drinks? What do they get out of this?
A: They want things to fill their stream time with. We are a thing which will do that!

The edited info should all be correct. I wonder-- should I archive the thread so that the items going forward reflect the new weekly or leave it as is?
 
I suggest we have everyone that will be bringing a monitor say so NOW so that we aren't blindsided by that issue.

I also suggest we start as early as possible (7pm?) since we're being limited to only staying until 1am. Outside of all that, if this place ends up satisfactory and to the level described then this sounds like a great deal.

The prospect of me still being able to play +R AND hang out with you all makes me very happy. :3

Unless it looks like you'll hit the 20 head cap I'm absolutely out of excuses to not come by now =X Staying tuned.

I just realized after looking up the street view.... wasnt this the same place we held a mini-tourney some years ago? i remember @WingZero won and we had to be buzzed in. The place was pretty small but had the most amazing MAME cab i ever did play. Amazing little place.

Yes, a very long time ago. The room is approximately 2.5x the size it was then.
