Digital Art Compendium Discussion

Was thumbing through thread and...

Something feels...off. See if you can see it.
Sorry, but I'd sound stupid if I actually said what I thought when I saw this, lol.
L-lewd.

The Skullheart is a 32bit sprite, it's not in Marie's folder. I dunno if we're including those...

For the Ms fortune frame, do you know what it was called and where you found it? That way I can try to find it and fix it.

so if anyone was curious *as i was* the frame comes after she gets up after she does Ah rippy yo shins *cat slide*

Love the way Filia's hair drapes down from the TV in her Samara cosplay animation.

Gonna bump this to let everyone know that you can finally take a gander at Big Band/Fukua/Eliza in the DAC without it pooping out during decompression. I even updated an old picture to celebrate...

A better way of explaining it would be to say that the DAC no longer experiences the bends.

The funny thing is that the sprites are drawn at 1080 res and are downscaled for console limitations.

Weeeeee~

Was there a DAC update for Beowulf? I don't recall getting an IGG email, and I don't want to re-download 5.2 GB to check. If not, that's fine. There will be all kinds of new art to see when Robo-Fortune launches:

1. Beowulf and Robo-Fortune
2. Taunts for everyone
3. Revised frames, cleanup errors and censorship

4/23 patch notes said:
- Talked to some characters about keeping dat PG-13 rating all up ons, naa mean?

For example, IsaVulpes details a Cerecopter change here.

Perhaps censorship is too strong of a word. I see no problem with tugging skirts down for a bit more coverage here and there. I'm neutral. The frames were fine before and after the changes.

Once more:
There were several spots in very old characters that we felt needed to be brought up to the standards of newer characters. That's all. We'd planned it for a long time and finally got to do it.

Standards? In my Skullgirls?

You're saying you guys got more prudent as time went on, basically?

No, we got better at sticking to what things would really look like / less amateur. In a few cases that meant no longer distorting things to show extra panties.

See, that makes perfect sense, I was in no way trying to say L0 had no standards.

we know what else bellas taunt should do now. Taunt for your panty shots per...lewdness consoeurs.

It was an IGG prize,I don't recall Lab0 saying there was a possibility to buy it now, but I hope they will. It contains both animations and concept art, right?

there were discussions in the past and COME ON, it's not like it have an exclusive number or limited avaliability!

I had no money for it in the IGG campaign time, sorry for that! but i have some saved just for it right now! And i can't be the only one that loves the sprites in this game. there must be more game art fans out there willing to buy it too!

Make it happen, please?

I'm all for tis sprite compendium. More money for little work (I assume), eh?
Just to point it out, this "Hey, now I want it!" is exactly the reason WHY it was a backer reward.
You give us support when we need it, we give you an exclusive thing that people (who didn't give us the same amount of support when we needed it, regardless of why not) are going to want later.

So...now you're those people that want it. :^P

Well the thing with me is that I didnt discover SG till the campaign was over. Sure enough, shame on me, yeah. But it really is an awesome reward and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be willing to pay a nice amount for it.

Fair enough, though. You gotta keep some rewards exclusive, or the backers feel like they didn't get much of a reward. I understand. :D

Probably not what the backers paid...

Agreed! Though then 2+ years of exclusive access to a digital good by itself could be viewed as that special something.

Probably not what the backers paid...
Not as much as the lowest tier with the compendium tier (which included a bunch of other stuff), but perhaps whatever difference in price would be between a tier with the digital art compendium and a hypothetical sister tier without one?

Quoting Ravidrath from last year (which quote is in no way an official statement of course), a potential price of $20 was mentioned, which seemed pretty fair.
.

I don't think $20 is enough. There's more art in the Compendium than you find in most artbooks, so I say at least $30. That's still a bargain though.

Seriously, If the Compendium came in hardcover print form, with the usual sidenotes and decently sized prints for every frame, the book would inhale your bookshelf and probably cost more than a new refrigerator. Poor Fedex guy would break his back delivering that thing.
