Report Fukua Introduced As 100% Real And Playable Character!

Oh good, there's already a Fukua character icon so I can make this unholy union official. I haven't hated myself for adding a character this much since I started using Filia herself in SDE. Begun, this Clone War has.

Also, it's pronounced "Fuckyoua," right? This is important.
 
Wow, less than a week to top what Capcom has been working on for 9 months. Fukua does play very differently it seems. Zoning is much more important to her game, every punch shoots the projectile in different directions. It can be done in the air also. Command grabs also.

I think with polishing and work she should stay. She plays very different, if you like playing filia it doesn't mean you'll like playing Fukae and vice versa. I think her and Robo fortune should be enough as far as 'clones' go though.

She's staying but will likley undergo fine tuning.

Lab Zero confirmed for April Fools Day Winner 2014.

Man, this is seriously the best April Fool's joke I've seen in a long time. I once joked that I would really like to play as Fukua. I had no idea that that passing whim would ever come true. I think my favorite part about her is that her backstory suggests she's got a distinct character, a distinct flavor to her that's different from Filia's. She's not just Filia given a coat of paint; she stands alone well.

I see no reason for us to throw her out, though I hope she receives some refinement—not just to her gameplay, but also to her appearance. In order to solidify the "I'm really not Filia" feel she's got going for her, she's going to need animation tweaks: a different sort of body language, a reflection of the whole love motif she has with her move names, maybe even a change to "Shamone" to be visually distinct from Samson.

Also, I pronounce her name as:
Foo (As in, "I know kung-fu"),
Kyew (As in, "Q comes after P and before R", or "Take your spot in the queue and get ready for a long wait),
Uh (As in, "Uh...what were we talking about again?").

I pronounce it Foo-koo-uh because that's how you would logically pronounce it.

Well, here's my thought. In all seriousness.

I don't mind if they actually go through with keeping her in the game, but no, I don't want her to be "canonized" as a character. It would be kind of hypocritical of Lab Zero to make a character as a parody of a clone character and then go on to make her a "legitimate" clone herself, wouldn't it?

If anything, they should play up how intentionally bad she is at least visually, tweaks to gameplay notwithstanding. Don't make her look any better, don't improve her animation quality, definitely don't try to actually include her in the story. Make sure she stays firmly cemented as a tongue in cheek joke character. The last thing SG needs is to be getting backlash for having legit clone characters, sheesh.

honestly if they make her canonized story that she was made as a joke on a cosmic level by the trinity it could work

I could see Fukua as one of Venus's attempts to somehow interact with the world's events since she can't come down herself right now, yeah. Or an alternate Filia from another timeline that Aeon kinda just dropped in the current timeline to see what would happen.

Sadly, it looks like Fukua is supposed to be one of Brain Drain's clones that he makes in his spare time.

I agree in not trying to clean her up now, since it would waste resources better spent on the real DLC characters. But after all of the crowd-funding ends, and if SG ever gets funded for another full blown sequel, then I think it would be cool if she got more visual tweaks and unique animations. Basically what Guilty Gear did with Robo-Ky in later editions.
 
Finally Lab Zero woke up and smelled the coffee by joining the clone character renaissance we are currently experiencing in other fighters :PUN:

Fuuka looks very fun and seems very more "ground-game" compare to Filia. She could use a bit more polish from presentation to gameplay but ironically she is already more different to Filia then Decapre is to Cammy lol. I might seriously go duo now since another character that is interesting to me has appeared.

I can see Fukua as a parallel reality version of Filia that Aeon summons to fight the player in story mode.
 
1 - I'm still reading this name as "fuuka" unless i check the name twice... go figure

2 - maybe is a reference to Charlie Fuqua. He was part of "The Ink Spots" band.

Its because "U" is close to the "I" key and the "K" key is close to the "L" key.

I really hope Fukua stays as a legit clone. I don't care if she's tournament legal or has a story, but I don't want her removed.
 
Playing as her feels like playing as an EX character in Guilty Gear, which I love.

If the balance changes on her work out and she gets to stay for good, do you think we can get hype for more "EX" styled characters?

I seriously thought this was a real prank, but Lab Zero and Mike won April fools, this is more funnier than some other April fools ive seen like Tumblrs'. I so hope she stays, her 2nd win pose is pretty neat.

Said this in the Fukua general discussion thread and felt it should be said it this thread, too, for those who care to hear from the originator of Fukua sorta (he had a better detail in the original stream but that stream is lost in time)

She's not getting any new frames of ANYTHING, the point was zero art work. If it can be cannibalized from other characters then sure, if not, not.
Can you make her projectiles a bit darker though? They stand out a bit too much.

Also would be nice if they faded away instead of just popping out of existence.
