I am really struggling on choosing between Bryan, King and Steve. Which is bad since I need to learn how to play the game at all.
 
She looks fun, but I'm trying to not try out even more characters for fear of liking them at this point.

I am stuck between Alisa, Kazumi, or not learning Tekken at all and picking up Yoshi.

so I did some digging around for this, there's no confirmed localization yet but given that it's coming to PC pretty heavily indicates (since its PS4 and PC only meaning not Microsoft Win 10) that its going to Steam/other PC distributors. That to me basically says it is getting a port release.

THE THING THAT SCARES ME THOUGH is if it will have the English Dub still. Since it seems there may be a new story segment, which means a bunch more dialogue, I don't know if they'll just cut the English Dub. Namco Bandai has been cutting a lot of corners with their localization recently with the lack of dubs in a lot of them and Yuri Lowenthal does such a good job of bring Haseo to life in my eyes, it won't quite be the same without him.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid? I hope so.

Kojima is not the only former Konami employee -- or "ex-Kon" if you will -- facing obstacles after leaving the company.

A staffing agency employee who asked not to be named said he notifies gaming companies if a prospective hire is an ex-Kon. He said that is because Konami files complaints to gaming companies who take on its former employees.

One major gaming company went so far as to warn its staff against hiring ex-Kon. There was even a case in which a former Konami employee moved to a construction company before joining another gaming company, hoping to throw people off the scent.

One ex-Kon described his surprise at learning that Konami had instructed an employee at a television company not to deal with its former employees. In another case, a former Konami executive was forced to close his business due to pressure from the gaming giant.

Ex-Kons are not allowed to put their Konami experience on their public resumes. "If you leave the company, you cannot rely on Konami's name to land a job," explained a former employee. If an ex-Kon is interviewed by the media, the company will send that person a letter through a legal representative, in some cases indicating that Konami is willing to take them to court.

I still have all 7 of the original games for my Ps2. Only thing I wish they'd add at this point is some sorta synopsis of the first Quintology, since they do play into part of the game's story. They don't play into it heavily, but a refresher would be good. I also wonder if the save file bonuses for having the original .hack games will be automatically unlocked?

so basically his explanation was that AM2R was a commercial product in that it was a full game ppl could download that used the IP in a different way from the original. It KIIIIIINDA makes sense in that it was a total remake in basically every way, which would therefor heavily affect how people view the Metroid IP, especially since at that time they only really had Federation Force out.

I'm not saying he's in the right here, I'm just trying to explain the viewpoint >_<
 
So kinda gaming related, I'm looking into getting a new headset soon-ish, but almost all the ones I find are USB (no) or One Cord.
I'm a dinosaur who thought all Headsets needed a microphone cord and a headphone cord. Do them One Cord Headsets work with any computer or would a splitter be necessary?

2 answers:
1 - Most probably if it advertises a microphone function.
2 - I would think that looking up a review/first impressions/threads on headphone forums would be better than asking in a thread about games?


On AM2R:
I think that the Nintendo Metroid 2 remake had been in the works for a long time and when AM2R made such a huge splash Nintendo (rightfully) got worried that it may negatively impact sales for their own product.
Ergo, AM2R can be contrived as a commercial product in that it acts as a direct competitor to their own product thus having commercial impact?
I don't know, it's obvious that every fangame they shut down is due to 2 reasons:
> May take away interest from their own product, thus negatively affecting sales
> Or, it becomes huge whilst carrying a trademarked name causing it's continued existence to possibly cause Nintendo to lose the trademark.
 
I picked up Dead Cells in the Steam sale and it's really cool so far, it's a Metroidvania with really fun combat. I don't usually pick up Early Access titles (Did get Darkest Dungeon and Hover Early Access, Darkest Dungeon was done really well but Hover sucked at the time) but it hasn't given me any trouble so far.

So if anyone remembered the game being worked on by Vanillaware that got a trailer TWO YEARS AGO. They put out an english translation for that trailer at this year's E3 that completely slipped past my radar.


Not a whole lot is new except for the ending shot of the other 11ish characters. Hopefully we hear more by this years TGS.
 
Yeah, I posted it in the E3 thread a while back. Honestly didn't expect anything for E3 since it'd make more sense as a TGS showing, but it's nice that pretty much confirms localization. I think TGS is supposed to be late September.

Evil Genius 2 got announced, and I'm really not sure how to feel about that. On one hand, I fucking loved that game and it's not like Dungeon Keeper is ever coming back, on the other, no one who had anything to do with the first game is involved as far as I'm aware and I don't know if Rebellion has ever made a good game.

I've only played the Capcom one and I've heard nothing but bad things about the 20...10(?) one if that's what you mean. Then again, people are wrong all the time, so that still just falls into "I don't know if they made a good game ever" since I literally do not know. If they made the late 90's one it's the same story except I've heard good things, but I still don't actually know because I didn't play it.

Rebellion to me is the jackasses who sued Sins of a Solar Empire because "using Rebellion in their name is trying to make money off our branding" which is funny because their branding at the time was shitty PSP ports, Rogue Warrior, Shell Shock 2 and turning Evil Genius (an IP they bought) into a Farmville clone on Facebook. After which they started into mobile games, made Neverdead and then the Sniper Elite games which are supposedly okay.

Congrats! Even if the category hasn't been focused on as much, you've still done the thing faster than any other human has done the thing!
