Hyrule Warriors [Name Now Final] - A Collaboration Between Nintendo and Tecmo Koei for Wii U

So I did some counting
and of all the Warriors games that I looked up
Hyrules Warriors has THE largest roster of any first entry Warriors game made by Koei, if you count the alternate fighting styles as different characters
that is, unless you want to discount the very first Dynasty Warriors game (which was a fighting game) and instead count Dynasty Warriors 2, which gave us the crowd-clearing gameplay we all know and love.
If you do that, then Dynasty Warriors 2 wins, with 28 characters, compared Hyrule Warriors's 20 characters. yell this at anyone who complains about the size of the roster in comparison to other Warriors games

for those wondering
the smallest cast goes to Ken's Rage, with 8 characters, 10 if you got the DLC

Forum steal:

It seems there is indeed DLC planned for Hyrule Warriors in future.

“New information to commemorate the release. Hyrule Warriors is a “festive Zelda title” that was made with much effort. In order to have you folks enjoy it for longer, we’re currently planning long-term updates and a large-scale mode expansion. We’ve received a few bug reports, so we’ll be working on that as well.”
Well at least we don't have to deal with a few bugs when this game released next month.
As for DLC, I want more stages. Maybe one from WW and MM. Oh and of course Groose playable..

I like this information, i'm glad to see they are going to be putting more content into the game rather than leaving it as is.

long term support is good
I hope it manifests in major updates rather than individual DLCs, though

Sounds like they're going with the Mario Kart 8 approach of using DLC to further increase a game's longevity over a longer term

like you know

what dlc was made for

well as someone who doesn't mind a little giantess action every now and again
I'm open to it

Ruin sees giant women. Not because he wants to, but because no one else will. And because he wants to.

Let's hope for some character DLC baby
Let's like... be happy with the characters we have, yeah? That's still quite a bit, dontcha think?

I am very happy with the characters we have, but even more would be good too.
Thoguh let's be honest DLC characters won't happen until the sequel in two years.
and I'll buy the crap out of this game to ensure one

Don't put words in my mouth.
Please.
I'm just saying it'd be rad but the only characters I can think of I'd want as DLC is Skull Kid so.
Either way I'm appreciative of the game and the sheer fact Zant is playable

I've seen everything you say in Mario Kart/Smash Bros/Hyrule Warriors and that's literally the great summation of everything you say. No fucking joke.

To be fair, if there was any DLC that is a "large expansion" as they say, the first thing it would be is character. Making new stages takes more effort than making a new character.

I read that in Marcus' voice from Borderlands..

Also, I have a bit of news. I don't have links, however, the Hyrule Warriors twitter announced today (The Japanese release) that there will be major updates in the upcoming months and smaller updates to fix a bug or two.

Major updates likely means new weapons/characters that were cut from the main game for time purposes. Also makes sense with how the Prima guide said "Over 15 playable characters" a while back but this final game only has 14. Food for thought.

... that's exactly what we were talking about due to DLC. It started on the last page. They want it to, due to being a "Zelda Celebration", last over an extended period of time. That's why we were talking about DLC, because they confirmed "big updates".

Softly sobbing.

After seeing footage of every character and weapon and where their specialties lie, I ahve come to the conclusion that Zelda is my favourite character and will see the most use from me. The ease in which she fills up her special gauge is just astounding. And she's freakin gorgeous to boot.

Ganondorf though, and Impa.

I thought there was no way that Lana could become more annoying, I was wrong.

The latest trailers for Hyrule Warriors showed off Ghirahim and Zant as playable characters, presenting the exciting premise of playing as the villains in a Zelda game. Apparently, this wasn’t always going to be the case, according to a Game Informer interview with producer Yosuke Hayashi.

According to Nintendo Everything, the development team “originally thought of them strictly as enemy characters”, but they were made playable “in response to people who wanted to try playing as them”. The appearance of Cuccos in the game was also made possible thanks to the support ofthe fanbase. Hayashi added, “They will appear during battle, and you’ll have to play the game for yourself to see what will happen.”

Good guy KEKMO TOIE

Hmm. Apparently even though Midna had two weapons slots in the E3 demo, here she only has the shackle. Interesting.

That other weapon might've been pushed back for DLC, which makes sense if it's what I think it is

stupid sexy midna when

the two weapons thing might have just been a leftover from the build
I can't for the life of me think of another weapon for Midna, imp or not
unless she gets like
the beyblade
i'd be okay with that

New mode? Hmm.

I haven't seen Free Play mode, so it could be that. An Endless mode is possible too.

Maybe online? Ha, doubt it. But you never know.

Hmm... could be Dynasty Warriors 8's Challenge mode. Sort of arcade-y mini-games and such.

It'd be awesome if they had a warring armies mode, where two players are trying to take command of the battlefield.
