Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

Sounds like some really cool idea! With all the character that have been revealed so far, i was worried that switching between all of them would be a bad idea somehow, a problem that i have seen in too many rpg so far.

Really hoping you'll succeed! I'm probably following that campaign with a unhealty obsession, but that project just seem so much like a breath of fresh air! I admit that at first i was like 'No! Skullgirls is going so well please don't stop!', but since then with everything that have been revealed for indivisible, i'm highly curious in whatever you'll do next!

Stuff

Great to me :D

One question: there is an option to not get any XP with the character who is not im party? Like only get XP if the character is in the party.

I thought there was going to be no XP in the game tho.

the character from undertale you guys want would be kinda spoilerish me thinks. i can think of a more popular and prestigious choice. but alas,i don't want to indulge this topic any more.

i've seen some really great indivisible fan-art,i don't envy whoever will be responsible for choosing the winner. wondering if labzero will make a page for exhibiting those arts in their campaign's site

There is no XP in the traditional sense where you get levels and have 6-10 different stats that those levels boost. "Leveling" will be more along the lines of what the prototype showed off; getting more action bars so you can do more attacks per turn, as well as probably slight health boosts. They also have plans to "level" through training. So you won't start the game with neutral attack, up+attack, down+attack. You'll have to train and unlock those over time.

At least I think that's whats been said in the past...

I heard there would be xp and leveling, but that you wouldn't need to grind to play the game. I think it's supposed to be more about meter and action bar management.

I think Mike said having more action bars would be from newly acquired weapons, but slight HP boosts would be from leveling, and overall attack stats would be based on how many Incarnations Ajna's recruited in total. So, some XP stuff, but as said from the beginning, exploration is the larger part of growing your power.

I imagine the specifics could change, but the general plan is there.

action bars would come from UPGRADING your weapons/ skills. So think of it ala like MegaMan X. You find the shit and your BlackSmith Incarnation will make your axe better. Getting new Incarnations will also let you gain new skills. So say Ajna has the spear, but she doesn't know how to stick it into the wall and make it into a spring board platform. If she gets someone, say, George, he might teach her how to use the spear in that specific way.

Then again this is all hypothetical so take it with a ton of salt.

I'm all in favor of making XP only a small part of your stats, but it still has to be nonzero. Otherwise you get Paper Mario Sticker Star, where there's no real reason to fight anymore and you're better off fleeing from everything.

You...misread, I guess? Nobody who is NOT in the party will get XP.
The first idea is that characters not in will get BOOSTS to how much XP they WILL get when you do put them in...and that gets smaller per fight, so keeping someone in forever will level up, but is worse than swapping them out.

About leveling, the current experimental idea is:
There is XP, but the stat boosts that it gives you will not be Actions. They will probably be speed (Action fill rate), some HP increases, and possibly some small attack increases.
Actions will be earned either by meditation / training (being not-in-battle for X fights), or from character sidequests or something. And, as mentioned, letting characters sit out of battle will probably give them a boost to how much XP they gain from their next fight.
Defense and major attack increases will be from finding more Incarnations, increasing Ajna's power level (and thus everyone else's) each time. So early-game Incarnations won't be left behind by late-game ones.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Oh... I don't understand the first explanation, sorry... But this one helps a lot! Thanks! :D

Is a really good idea!! Even if you want use only 3 Incarnation, with the meditation / training sometimes you need give hin/her a rest to learn, and you go use another character for a time. Very well Lab 0, very well :D

35 character 4 player final boss confirmed.

Oh... forget.. I will not reply with suggestions... (darn... so hard to control the suggestion urge... I need to go to the other topic... :P )

i have a thing I wanna ask but it's also a suggestion aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
someone help

I meant more like FF6 swapping characters out when one died. Was that only against the boss?

Can be something like FF7 battle before the last boss, 3 groups against one boss. Well... can be a lot of things :D

I thought Ajna was the one with the axe?

Also, we've finally broken $1M, 50K!

Not currently planned, but you never know. Some games only let you do it at certain times...

While we're on the subject I'd like to ask the contrary, can you choose to fight with fewer incarnations (just Ajna and Razmi for example), or just Ajna? One of my least favorite things about the KH series is not being able to put your goons in the closet and have some alone time in combat. (Especially in II, where they actually are useless)

Considering you're going to have full control of your party, and that the gameplay is focused on combos, I'd say it's not going to be necessary to send Ajna alone... unless you're thinking of solo Chrono vs Lavos.

Have you seen this cool character that is gonna be in the game she's called Ajna and does cool stuff like being the protagonist
She also has this amazing ability called "We cannot talk about it yet", so in fact she actually kinda did NOT anything except just being there. So pardon us for loving characters we actually beat games with a little bit more at this point in time.

Yep, if you wanna take everyone else out you can do that.

Can't wait to beat the final boss as solo Ajna during a new game+ run!

Edit: Wait, is it possible to do the same with the other characters? Cause Leilani has one of the most awesome weapons in the game and... but considering that Incarnations exist inside Ajna... oh well, solo Ajna it is.

~Leilani~

Boisterous and resourceful, Leilani is the polar opposite of her shy and reserved twin sister. Inseparable since birth, the two young priestesses spent each day together, with Leilani assuming the role of protector in times of danger.

When her sister was chosen by their starving village as a sacrifice to the shark god, Leilani did not hesitate. As her sister tearfully protested, she stood, arms skyward, bravely awaiting the jaws of death.

In recognition for her courage, rather than devour her, the shark god instead adopted her. Returned to the material world with a weapon fashioned from his discarded teeth, Leilani is charged with protecting those in need… but barred from ever seeing her sister again, lest the secret be revealed.

pleasepleasepleaseplease tell me if her weapon is just like a chainsaw... if it is, I've found my main Incarnation.

Can't wait for all the fan art of Leilani wearing a Hawaiian mask and going psycho on everyone.

so. this shark god just gave her a weapon that clearly surpass their technological level?
I wonder...

Oh wait. That order is wrong. :[ I didn't even notice. Let's go check to see if it's my fault or @EU03's fault...

EDIT: His fault.

Is that chainsaw made of wood?

Do I see that right? Is next character Giant Fist Probably-Not-Girl-If-They're-Keeping-The-Pattern?
