Introduce Yourself!

Hello, I'm Nicolas. I am from California, and I'm a fan of Touhou, Pokemon, and Dead Rising. I found skullgirls when I was looking around for news about Hopeless Masquerade, and I've been a fan ever since.

I already have 30+ posts, but whatever.

Hello. My name is Vladislav or Vlad for short (Not to be mistaken with Vadsamoht) and I live in Estonia, a Post-Soviet country most of you probably have never heard of and you'd probably be even more surprised to find out that Estonian isn't my 1st language, because around 25-30% of population are Baltic Russians and other Russian speaking nations. I used to be known by my PSN name as Vlad7779311, because I like the music by Prince and his proteges like the Time. I now call myself Vladislav_Paizis online, because Paizis is a pun on Pisces.

I played fighting games like MK series (Including the terrible 3D games), Tekken Series, Street Fighter Alpha series, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and some SNK games in arcades like Samurai Shodown. I was mostly a casual player who played against CPU, but then I got really interested in FGs when MK9 and SF: 3sOE were released.

I read about Skullgirls on Shoryuken.com and I used to think it will be a shallow fanservice game that focuses more on bouncy boobs and pantyshots, but then I heard that an experienced tournament player (Mike Z) was working on the gameplay and then I became curious.

SG was delayed on EU PSN, so one of my friends bought the game from the US store. I originally wanted to play as Valentine, because I like ninjas, but my friend already picked Val and I didn't want a mirror match. I don't remember, but I either picked Solo Fortune or Fortune/Double and defeated him.

I played the Vanilla release for awhile, then I dropped it to focus on other fighters that were popular in my small offline scene, like SSF4AE2012 (Which I now dislike). I got back to the game this January during the Breast Cancer Fundraiser and I've been playing as Solo Fortune at first (Not the most beginner-friendly character. >.<), then I tried out Fortune/Parasoul and now I currently play as Cerebella/Ms. Fortune (HURRAH for HK Fiber Upper buffs). I mess around in training mode with Squigly and Double and I wanna try out Valentine again, Peacock or Filia and try experimenting with different teams. I'm very excited for Eliza and Beowulf, because they were in my Top 10 Candidates for DLC list and they both won!

I mostly play on Steam right now and I'd consider myself probably as a lower-intermediate/intermediate player. I get bodied by good players, but I end up curb stomping newbies.

I also like Tekken Tag Tournament 2, ArcSys games, UMvC3 and thinking of going back to KOF13, but my laptop is terrible for it.

Suddenly, Muro.

Started hanging around the Skullgirls community during the Indiegogo campaign, actually playing the game ever since the PC beta release. Came for the art, stayed for the gameplay.

While fighters aren't my favourite genre, I liked playing them since forever. Skullgirls is probably the first one I cared to get any good at since One Must Fall 2097. Despite my general approach that there's only one kind of a good combo, I'd say I manage to play the game at an intermediate level with good use of normals/supers/specials in a back and forth manner.

So far I usually play Peacock/Cerebella/Double - trio, solo or any duos. Slowly thinking about learning other chars as well.

The concept of saltiness is still pretty alien to me, I find the game extremely fun no matter wins or losses. That being said, I also gladly hold back and help new players get into the game when I get the chance.

Good to see all the old and new faces.

I'm James, and I definitely found out about Skullgirls on a forum or something and not on ZTV.
meme_png_poker_face__4__by_fabii_editions-d4ys2xm.png

Can someone help me pick a fightstick by clicking here?

Edit: Oh, and I play Valentine.

I definitely found out about Skullgirls on a forum or something and not on ZTV.

Oh,you!

Java here.

Everyone calls me Java or Smell while playing, feel free to call me The if you want though.

I played vanilla SG on xbox 360 a couple of times and really liked the game and character but I ended up using all my time for Blazblue(I actually plan to get Chrono Phantasma as soon as the jap release) so I dropped the game and forgot about it until now. A few days ago a couple of friends told me about the PC release of SG so I decided to get it and give it a try. I'm enjoying every single moment of it.

I have been playing 2D fighting games since KOF98, even if it's my absolute favorite genre I SUCK at them. Not like that stops me from having fun getting my ass kicked multiple times, I may have a bit of a M side.

I'm trying to main Parasoul.

Oh, and I'm a total fanboy of Type Moon lore and the nasuverse.

It's Doctor Cursed here. If you see me on Skullgirls, it means I'm procrastinating from drawing porn. I've learned of Skullgirls from friends before Zone started showing the game his love, although I think seeing Zone, Jaxamoto and Atrox work on the animations is what tipped me towards the side of buying the game for PC. I originally wanted to donate during the campaign but I wasn't able to put money into my paypal. =w=;; I've only started on the PC release because I don't own any game consoles other than a DS and Gamecube. I currently main solo Squigly; I main it poorly... I'll whine and moan about the mechanics of the game, but I don't dislike the game and have a lot of fun on it. I don't really play competitively although I do like improving over 3-5 ranked matches a day. I usually don't get salty although I can see why a lot of new players get discouraged.

Yo, Cyberbeta here returning to the forums.

I'm a casual gamer who enjoys Fighting, RPG and some racing games and am glad to see these forums return.

Hey everyone, first post, I'm from So. Cal. I usually lurked the characters thread for combos and stuff on the old site before it got shut down. Made this account a few days ago because I needed one. I got interested in playing Skullgirls since I first saw the character name Stanley Whitefin on the indiegogo campaign. Then I started playing it and went on from there. I love action games, fighting games and Dota 2. I think thats pretty much it..

I forgot to mention I like Annie a lot. A lot.

JingooJ here,
lurked in the old Skullgirls forum for quite a while, but made only a single post there.
I enjoy fighing games, animation and music so Skullgirls was rather fitting for me. I've been interested in Skullgirls since I saw Fighterpedia, but since I didn't have Xbox Live Gold I only started playing online since the PC-Beta. I also like Annie.

Hello
I'm Mushezable. I found out about Skullgirls during the funding campaign for new characters and thus have not been around as long as some others have. I had not played any other fighters and because I am a huge Fagbin I bought the game for the character designs.
I decided that I would play Peacock from day 1 and found out during the beta, I'm shit at Peacock so instead decided to learn as best I can all the characters. Whenever I play in any multiplayer focus (apart from with real life friends) I immediatley get decimated but my skills have improved so that I can win 1 match out 15.
I once even ended up against a guy with the same skill level as me during quick-match and encountered him 5 times in a row. It was fun.
I don't have specific times I play Skullgirls and may often only play for half an hour or up to 5 hours in the night.
I like playing Squigly currently because her voice sounds dreamy but I also like to play double.
I like the look of this forum as there seems to be friendly discussion around here.

I also have recently contracted PTSD that activates whenever I hear the phrase "HERE WE GO!"

Matt here, Indiegogo-backing Piemaster playing PC port on a pad. Please put me in your preferred player panel for pleasant prolonged play!

Presently laying Parasoul (Pillar pillar pillar!), Painwheel (Pinion ploys), and Peacock (Plumes of projectile pandemonium!). Prefer parrying; I'll probably pick Big Band promptly after he's perfected.

hello im new to fighting games so im probably gonna get my ass kicked. i started out with street fighter few years back i was decent with akuma i also got into umvc3 but that game is a broken peice of crap . if i get good enough i eventually want to attend a tournament

i always loved skullgirls the first time i heard about was at evo . but i completely forgot about it after that.the next time i heard about it the indiegogo was going on i pledged what i could and bought the 360 version i voted for eliza, feng, scythana

There is no need for me to introduce myself for I am already well known.

Fighting games? What game do I excel at? Simple, it's called Dive Kick!

How can you expect me to play such other games if I only have hands that numbered to almost none?

I am MrTea. I play games and complain about everything because I have nothing better to do.

Uh hey, I'm ROTHY. Skullgirls is technically the first fighting game I bothered to learn how to play.

I main Ms. Fortune and Cerebella, and I hope that Annie becomes playable.

Also TV Tropes, represent!

Hi, I'm Nick. I have been a fighting game fan for many years. I always find myself gravitating towards Street Fighter games, though in the past few years I have tried everything I could get my hands on.
I am really enjoying Skullgirls on PC, at the moment my favorite fighters are Ms Fortune and Valentine since they both have such a familiar feel to Street Fighter.

i be jtkk33 the one and only or at least thats what i ask to be put in the skullgirls backer credits lol. I've been playing SG since october of last year i think and apparently if i miss one day of playtime you it might as well be day 1 with this game for me. i use a hori fighting edge which i love to death. for a long time i use to solo val since she is my favorite. hell i have a garage kit of her that i paid a crapton for and made a custom tshirt...i got carried away to say the least. but now my goal is to have fortune up front and val anchor and fix each mess up as much as possible. my hobbies consist of a vast majority since apparently i want to make myself mad. they include: guitar/music making, drawing, machinimas, and video games of course. i tell everyone i wish i could take the massive amount of skill i have from battlefield 3 and soon to be battlefield 4 and gran turismo 5 and move it to skullgirls but thats not how it works lol. if you care to spar on this game or any other game console(cept xbox one....not buying that thing) feel free to add me as i would enjoy you and everyone elses company. i also stream on twitch when i get the free time under the same name if your intrested in seing me fuck around and crack jokes. p.s im serious about the one and only thing you type jtkk33 in google you'll get everything ive done since 2007 and some wierd tawain massage palace WHICH I HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH BUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT i hope to have fun in games and the forums with everyone! :)

The plethora of P's in this peculiar person's post pleases me profoundly. Please pardon my poor pretension to posses this power of P's you proudly practice.

I'm gonna go pee now.

Hi Everyone.

I'm Benji, I'm a writer and generally new to Skullgirls. I don't know what to say really aside from its good to be here and I hope I can have a good time with everyone ^_^

Welcome back everyone. When's Skullgirls? Here.
I didn't read most of the intros and skimmed through the avatars only lel.

Been playing SG since release and can be found on steam under said same. Also, I guess people just call me "Whens" or "Whens_SG" but everywhere else I am called by the waifu's name "Shirley" (from strike waifus I mean Witches.)

I play PainBella. Long Live Poverty Streams!

Hi, I'm Zevak, you may run into me online on Steam under the name of Champion of Heroes, I apologize for any lag you may have encountered. I've played Painwheel since console release, but I've been lately looking into learning the entire cast to a certain extent. So if you run into me on ranked, it's a bit of a guess on who I'll chose. I'm always willing to help so feel free to send me some questions about the game.

I am here, bored at work. I will post a lot. <3 you all

Soldner Kei here, I play Skullgirls regulary with some buddies, I'm not an online person myself, mostly because my crappy internet, I remember I came across alex's deviant art gallery and learned a bit about the game, then I began to follow it to date release in the psn, picked up parasoul and filia, and both have been my pair so far

I play other fighters too, mostly ArcSys stuff and that's it, nice to meet ya!

Hi, I'm a guy who never liked fighting games, but then played Skullgirls and changed his mind :P I still suck, big time (at the game and the genre itself haha). I play the game on PC, trying to learn Parasoul, so she would be like my main character.

I'm about to start building my own fight stick (can't get used to mi 360 controller's d-pad), so if anyone have experience into building/modding these things, I made a thread on hardware asking for some tips with the layout :P

See you guys.

Sup people, i usually play under the G3722 nickname and I'm really bad.

I really dont feel like writing out whatever I did on the last forum a second time so ill give ya the basics.

Real name is Alex Vazquez. Thats right with TWO Z's and you'd do well to remember that.
19 years old. turning 20 in march.
Live in Ohio. An hour away from cleveland.
College student majoring in computer maintenance and networking.
I play Squigly/Fortune
My one true waifu is Juri Han.
Seasoned vet with video games in general, except for most JRPG's, Sports games, Turn based games. Not really into racing games.
Play SSF4AE, Mahvel 3, and SkullGirls. I have SFxTK but i dont actually play it.

Thats about all you need to know that i can think. If you got any questions then ask em.

P.S. I will not change my name. Its bad for a reason.

Skullgirls is technically the first fighting game I bothered to learn how to play.
FUN FACT: That makes you a Skullbaby. I know you posted this like a week ago but it doesnt really matter to me lol

First time fighting game player here.

I've been lurking here for a few days now and I've decided to join place. My screen name is EpicJoyBoy, although I prefer to just be called Joy or Epic.
I'm very well into simulation and racing games like NFS or The Sims series. I first heard about Skullgirls when I heard that Mane6 is getting their engine for free.

I unfortunately didn't contribute to the SG IGG campaign, but since the game was released as of now, I've decided to give it a try. My favorite characters is both Peacock and Squigly. Peacock for her cartoonish gags, and Squigly for CUTENESS. :p

EDIT: I know I'm going to get a lot of hate here, but I'm also a brony. Yep.

Hi, I'm achthenuts, and I'm just a commoner from Malaysia.

I have art thread at here, and other art at other sites (does not have my own website, don't bother it)

I'm not expert at grappler, literally.
