The ratio of beefcake to cheesecake is pretty much 1. This series makes me forget that korra book 2 is bad.

Episode 4 (Felt like I was having a seizure of pleasure and the villain was so panty and stocking)

My theory was that the other scissor wielder was Satsuki's mother, but their silhouettes don't match, so... huh. I got nothin'.

I love how this show is focusing on developing its characters. From the first episode I figured the show would pretty much just be nonstop crazy action like Dead Leaves (which I would have been completely cool with, don't get me wrong), but clearly that's not the case. I like Sanageyama a lot more after this episode.

I'm surprised at the lack of comedy in this episode. Like, even the fanservice was nigh-non-existent in place of really good story and character development.

I really like how they villains aren't just evil, it seems, but abide by a strict code of honor. It makes them a thousand times more likable.

We got a super close up of two glowing nipples. What more do you want.


Also, even though this series is pretty lighthearted the new development with the elite student really creeped me out, they did a good job of setting the tone of his character by showing his catharsis on screen. I honestly think it was the
stars on his eyes
that made it serious nightmarefuel, and how he was introduced as a character before that so it was even more impactful.
 
I really like how Ryuko loses and picks herself up rather than just blowing through everything, it makes her more likeable IMO.
 
Wow...episode 6 was dark....but I loved every moment. He exchanged something to become more powerful, such a horrifying sight.

one thing I gotta wonder about:

Ryuko, as far as we all know, is still operating under a time limit when in fighting mode because kamui are blood powered.

I think she's gotta have some sort of sneaky plan because there's no way she's gonna defeat the elite 4 AND the main rival in one go.

She does have a whole unaccounted week of prep time.
 
Just got into this series two days ago. I'm loving it. It's the first anime to have me hooked within the first few minutes. (Other than Jojo's, but that's because I love the manga.)
 
@Zazz that was explained away when she stopped being embarrassed, by her accepting Senketsu he doesn't consume as much blood.

All I know is this: The next episode is the beginning of the real series.

I really doubt she's actually going to fight all 4 of them now. If she does....wow.

Nah, ever since she solidified her bond with Senketsu she hasn't been restricted by the previous blood time limit. It was explained that because she was unconsciously pushing Senketsu away due to the way it made her look, he was consuming more blood than he needed. Once she stopped pushing him away he only needed the initial amount of blood and she can fight for as long as she is able too or as long as Senketsu hasn't been rendered inactive.

Check episode 3 again when you get the chance around the middle of the episode if I remember. The fight alone is worth the re-watch.

well it happened way early in this episode.

the stuff in the stands with Mako is all comedy gold.
 
Part 1 of the episode was disapointing, mako was hilarious though. Part 2 was so fucking good, harukos (FLCL) voice actor is once again so good at her characters. Can't wait for next episode.
