After many years in development, Skullgirls released in 2012 to glowing reviews and admirable sales figures. Despite their hard work, however, developing studio Lab Zero Games has unfortunately not seen a cent out of Skullgirls' sales since its release... until now!
While not announced through official outlets, designer and community manager @render has gone on record in saying that Lab Zero Games is finally receiving a cut out of every copy of Skullgirls Encore sold, including DLC sales. For a business that formerly only received money from Eightysixed T-Shirt sales (most of which was donated to the Skullgirls Encore 2014 EVO pot), this development should prove to be much-desired assistance to the company tasked with creating five DLC characters at near-minimum wage. For those who wish to support Lab Zero, the simple act of buying a copy of Skullgirls Encore (or convincing your friends to do so!) now helps them out.
It should be mentioned that this does not necessarily imply anything about Skullgirls' future, and that until further notice you should expect Skullgirls' future plans to follow those outlined in this FAQ (under "Will there be any more characters after Robo-Fortune?"). Regardless, this is still one of the most significant developments for Lab Zero this year, and should be celebrated as such! They deserve it.[prebreak][/prebreak]
