This got super toxic super fast holy shit.
Look, I've bashed the shit out of this game a bunch here. A buncha stuff I've been wrong about, probably a thing or two I've been right about, but it really comes down to perspective.
here's mine:
I don't want to pay $90 for a third of a game. IDC if it plays good or blows my mind. I don't put a lot of time into fighters past when they're relevant with the exception being Skullgirls and Melty Blood. That being said, if a game wants to sell itself to me, it has to has features. The whole 'murdering a franchise' thing did come off as bashing ppl who have been bashing this game, but to many its deserved. It's a case of even if you're tired of it and just want to enjoy the good, the game is still too new to do so. A lot of ppl are still on the fence or very disappointed.
It's fine to let MvC die. I know that sounds harsh, but if THIS is the best we're gonna get, fuck em. Poorly remixed music that doesn't fit the cast on the Capcom side, none of which sounds fitting for a fighter, rushed visuals that have notably improved but are still lacking compared to stuff like IJ2 and Tekken 7 which came out first, huge price tag for only 1 real selling mode that being story, and 'good' gameplay
Look, I'm a casual. This game is fucking frustrating online. IDC about the high level play except to watch it. If a game has to sell itself on its highest level play and can't have strong fundamentals (something I think the game lacks given the very open and abusable system it uses) then I don't really want to play it past the first few days. It was NEVER just the memes, and blaming it on that doesn't do much to help. In fact, if it was just Memes that could have BOOSTED the game's reputation and sales given the current state of the market with stuff like the Emoji Movie doing well just for the meme of it all as well as other big franchises doing well despite poor reception across the board. No, this was ALL due to poor issues with PR, the graphics, and everything else besides the gameplay. You want to blame someone for letting MvC die? Blame Capcom for wrapping a fun experience in a shit product and expecting ppl to lap it up and call it gourmet food.
If you like MvCI and want to support go ahead, that's fine, as is the other side, but so BOTH SIDES are clear, the game is still new and its a hard sell as is so don't expect the discussion as to why ppl won't support it to end anytime soon. we should coexistent with our shit opinions! :P
