Pokemon

I really like the stuff Tamashii puts out, that ain't a bad list at all.

Sinnoh felt really nice in Platinum. Seeing it during the winter was really cool. (Gen 5 perfected that with rotating seasons. Gen 6 dropped it because fuck you.) The music was great, and the visuals were updated well without going too far from the traditional look of the Pokémon games. Me and most of my friends got Gen 4 day one and we played it a lot, so it's impossible for me to look at it without nostalgia goggles, but they are still solid games.

I always will love Gen 5.

the main thing was that it locked the old pokemon so you'd HAVE to play with the new 150 and start a new adventure with a new team. I always feel so disheartened when I see people so eager to transfer their top tier pokemon from old games into the new ones solely because they don't want to have to bother dealing with the new ones or even giving them a chance. I like how gamefreak pretty much was like "play the new pokemon. don't like it? beat the game. don't like that either? well, go fuck yourself"

also, I don't mind how they dropped the rotating seasons in gen 6. Unova had a more diverse landscape and different terrains, so differing seasons wouldn't really matter in more snowy or desert areas.

I don't even bother to transfer pokemon across my games
a new adventure is a new start, fresh of old memories or companions.
They walked with me in life and I will walk with them in death
Soon enough we shall all ascend to the great beyond that awaits all living things, both flesh and data
Then I'll finally be able to give nicknames to all the mons I neglected to

Im relative new in the "real" pokemon games (now with a real 3DS), so im playing all the games I get so far, in order. I always play with the team selected with the ones in the game, and will only transfer at end (all in all way to pokémon X). After this I will try make a perfect dex (all pokémons with all 6 EV MAX, minus de legendary...).

Will be a hard and long work, but I dont mind XD

Apparently Event Pokémon don't count towards National Dex completion and can't be traded over GTS or Wonder Trade, so I'm still missing Deoxys, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Keldeo, Meloette, Genesect, and the Gen 6 event Pokémon that haven't been released in the States. GOD DAMMIT I'M SO CLOSE.

Umm, how often will your pokémons in the Day care lay an egg?
Exept I think it goes suprisingly fast, I just breeded a Lileep. Got the egg. Went in to the day care for the PC soo I have space for the Lileep that's with the ditto. Go to the woman behind the canteen, and she say her brother has something for me. ANOTHER EGG @_@

Umm, how often will your pokémons in the Day care lay an egg?

Its a random formula that depends on the pokémon thats beeing breed, as well as the parents. For some its faster, some its slower. Thats because every Pokémon has a counter, a number of maximum steps that need to be walked before an egg appears. But during every one of the steps done until the maximum, an egg can appear, its totally random. But if you walked the whole amount of steps required an egg will be there, every time.

So you just got very lucky that in the 10 steps you made towards the canteen, an egg has been produced.

Today was an amazing wonder trade day for me. I had some exlusive pokemons I didn't need soo I thought "Hey, why not trade them away in wonder trade and I might get something cool" (hardly I get, mostely get scatterbugs and fletchers).

But oh man was it a good day today. Got a level 1 Tyrunt with Thunder/Ice/Fire Fang and Dragon dance moves, AND a Snivy :D

So I'm just gonna ask this now, does anybody actually like the Pokemon Transporter or Pokemon Bank? Does a single person think that those were efficient?

*whispers* Shiny Virizion

I like it. its a better option than nothing at all at least.

Sorta. I guess. So so...

Good News: I got a 3DS XL!
Bad News: I could only afford New Leaf.

I'm gonna have to wait a little while longer to catch 'em all.

Don't worry, X and Y get really stale after you beat the game.

Until it ends.

I mostly hang out at the battle place at the end of the game. It's the biggest source of variety and challenge, at least to me. I agree that X and Y could have had a lot more in after story missions, though.

...

Okay, Pokebank rant time
Remember when I was bitching about catching that shiny Gurdurr because the moves best on a Conkeledurr were either transfer or breedable only? Well, I've had an action replay for a while now. Guess who decided to go back and make things even with a little hacking?

He went through Pokebank flawlessly, breedable and move tutor moves hacked into his arsenal. I also adjusted the nature so it I did the exact same method for a Bisharp, a Politoad, a Sharpedo, and four Starmies. They also went through.

So what's the issue?

The exact same method was used on other non legendary pokemon, but they were out of luck. (By the way, I'm dead serious about the exact same method part. Try the exact same square where you can walk to catch them)

A lack of consistency is what I detest about the Pokebank. It practically picks and chooses what it thinks is okay to transfer. I mean I know I'm cheating but I'm not giving them Draco meteors or anything...

(If you look at Smogon's general view on Sylveon, you'll notice that one of it's moves are breedable only alongside two transfer only moves, on top of a hidden ability. I had an entire box of Eevee's that I was going to give out and was denied...)

well if you're cheating, then pokebank shouldnt work for you.

True, but it's weird how it decides what's okay and what's not okay. Like a Sableye with a Wonder Guard, yeah that's going to be blocked and that's fine. It strange how some are completely legal sets but are blocked.

How you liking the XL so far?

NOW TO ADD ZEN TO THE LIST OF BUDS
GO FIND THAT 3DS FRIEND CODE THREAD, ZEN.
RUN TO IT.

I have a question, is the top screen supposed to click loudly into place and have a little space for movement?

Mine does. But I don't own an XL... well... I did drop mine a lot.

just be careful with the hinges.

they aren't really that great.

also, lemme add ya Zen? ouo

You dropped yours a lo- what.

Whatever happened to protecting your consoles and handhelds with your life? Downright blasphemy.

my hinges are fine, I just know that the hinges on the 3DS arent as good as the GBA SP or the DS.

Yes. The 3DS and DS models all are designed to lock the screen in place when opened.

Hey now, sometimes pockets just suck.

Get a case. A hard one. I got one for every handheld. Will save you some hurt and pain and possible corrupted data. ;D

But is it also supposed to have a bit of wiggle room?

Yes, that's normal. That's to keep the hinges from snapping if the top screen is bumped or the console is dropped while it's open.

The 2ds design is quite impractical but the system does work good of course

Thanks man, I thought I got a bad copy or something.

Is there going to be any event pokemon painfully tied in?

(Also does anyone want a shiny Eevee with Heal Bell, Hyper Voice, Wish, and it's hidden ability?)
