Pokemon

Custom characters are definitely out, yes.
Sad as it is, I expected it. But I fully expect it to be back in the next non-remake title

I guess they figured not doing custom outfits would better justify contests giving us Brendan's Tyrantrum jacket and May's Sylveon dress <and the Pikachu cosplay suits too, I guess?>.

But then those are pretty boss on their own so I guess it's a moderately fair trade?

Diance event is up...

Only in stores in some countries...

Me and Metafogos have unfortunately discovered that Diancie cannot be traded online under normal trading circumstances. Keep that in mind if you're planning on giving to a friend.

We dont know if is because they not lift the NA Diancie restriction or if because this is intended. Remember: the JP Diancie can be traded...

Looks like Smogon updated with the stats of Pokemon-to-be.

...That's funny. It says that Hoopa is going to have an alternate form that's Dark/Psychic

http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/pokemon/hoopa-alt
...and apparently better stats.
170 special attack and 160 attack? Really now? They didn't even give him any good physical attacks to go with the ridiculous attack either, the only usable one is brick break...

move tutors are coming back in ORAS
and bless their hearts that they are

I find it strange that Carbink has access to Power gem, but Diancie doesn't.

On that matter, why is it that Power Gem, the most powerful Special Rock move, is handed out to all but the Pokemon that ACTUALLY would want it? Yeah, I guess it's nice that Aurorus and Diancie can get Earth Power from Move Tutors now, but why the heck do they still not gain access to the best Special STAB moves for one of their typings?

who would be a fitting pokemon for Bless?

EDIT: Vanilluxe can have Bless.

... Who the hell is Bless, or do I even wanna know?

I am not kidding when I say this:

it's some guy Matt (from Two Best Friends Play) knew at one point, who shirked out on doing some acting thing forcing Matt to do both parts, and when Bless wasn't given a grade since Matt did everything, Bless got mad at Matt. Bless then said he'd make a name for himself and is a playable character in DefJam.

and Matt is still more popular than him.

honestly I was just gonna break my record and name Vanilluxe "Vanilla Ice"
along with a Glalie named "Ice Cube" and a Walrein named "Ice-T"

Well, at least Diancie gets Diamond Storm, a 95% accurate 100 damage move that can raise its defense by 1 level. I think it works best with Diancie having that one fairy move that lowers an opponent's special attack by 1 stage.

But yeah there's no excuse when it comes to Aurorus though. Give that pathetic pokemon SOMETHING for god's sake.

I remember when I was excited for ice types in general.

I was sorely mistaken.

No Ice type are good? I really dont remember using one... but will try Jinx in the White 2

In the past, they exist to make Dragons shivers... but now...

(for a long time, all dragons suffers with 4x damage against Ice... only Kingdra survive... but now...)

Well, at least we got refrigerate explosion from Glalie.

...However the hell that works.

BITCH IT MIGHT BE.

I feel really bad, because I want there to be good Ice types. Think of all the poor Gym Leaders who wasted their time with learning about Ice types, only to constantly get flattened because they're so bad!

REAL GAMEPLAY DISCUSSION GO!

How could they balance Ice Types in future versions?

First: why the Ice types are so bad? Bad stats? Bad combinations? Delibird existence?

Well, let's start this discussion by asking this; what are the weak points of the Ice type, and how could we address them?

EDIT: Metafogos just literally asked the same question as me. Herpa-derp-derp.

Well really again it's just the unnecessary amount of weaknesses compared to the miniscule amount of resistances that the ice typing has. Like I think that Ice type would work well as a typing based on weaknesses and resistances.
I thought Fire resisted fairy because of the extreme temperature difference, why can't Ice resist Fairy?
Ice is basically solid water, why doesn't it resist water? You can make the argument that water would normally just go through water, but this is a game where Ice is basically made on the spot through air vapor, water probably would freeze if anything.
Get rid of the fighting weakness. Literally just get rid of it. Punch a glacier, yeah that works.
(Could there at least be an Ice type, when hit by or using a fire attack, turns into a water type?)

Over a decade of playing these games and I had no fucking idea that Delibird's sack was his tail.

Ice types:

  • 50% to: Fire, Water, Ice, Steel
  • 200% to: Grass, Ground, Flying, Dragon
  • 200% from: Fire, Fight, Steel

That's your interpretation? My interpretation was either A) fairy tale books can burn or B) it has to relate to fairies supposedly being forest creatures, and forest fires.

But yeah, get rid of that Fighting type weakness. I've tried explaining that to myself for years, and it still doesn't make any sense. I mean, he guys, remember the last time you got involved with our natural enemy, the ice cube?

A Water resistance would make sense.

Also, maybe perhaps do something about its defensive and special defensive stats. Because I remember Ice type defenses being generally terrible. I might remember wrong, but that's what I remember.

Y'all need to learn more about martial arts, I knew about this forever.

Someone never finished their training.

Plus Hail is also a sucky weather. Every other weather has some sort of stat modifier or change in mind for the type it's associated with. Rain powers up water and weakens fire, Sunshine powers up fire and weakens water, sandstorm has all rock's special defense increased by 50%, and the new windy one for Rayquaza makes all supereffective moves against flying types neutral. Hail doesn't have any of that. It's systematically useless besides being somewhat annoying.

At least let ice resist grass or bug for god's sake, at least they're things that can easily die to extreme cold weathers!

I was thinking if a forest is subjected to extreme colds that things like fairies couldn't necessarily survive as well.
