[Sep 19, 2014] GUTS 3 (Ledyard, Connecticut)

Yo when's everyone planning on showing up? If we're tryna do a meal thing that might be important to know... I should be getting there at ~8 hopefully earlier.
 
We're trying to get the nyc band together tomorrow so hopefully we'll get there around 4~5pm, depending on traffic.

Pretty much the same. Also trying to avoid all tolls so this might take eleventybillion years.

Not sure, I'm on Doctor's schedule since I need to give him a ride after he gets out of school. I'm hopeful to get there before 6pm.

Looks like his Brother and him got 1st and 2nd place respectively. Good shit.

Also, I'm sorta proud of the fact that we were the fourth biggest tournament there. Or... fifth. Technically. (Edit: Forgot about Smash, cause it wasn't on the list of tournaments I had, along with other tournaments. No idea what their numbers were.)

Man so I just got home, I'm really tired, but was some good times going on. From the acid trip videos at Hard Rock to @Natezer and that whole godlike event at Fuddruckers. Every time we go to one of these East Coast majors some kinda crazy stuff keeps happening, hope that continues in the future.

I feel like I missed a couple people, but know that this was the single most fun i've had being away from home because of every single one of you. You guys have something really special on the other side of the states, and it was awesome to be a part of it and be an honorary east coast member for a while.

You always appear for a split second at events and then dissapear before I have a chance to talk to you more. Your matches were tons of fun to commentate and it's great to see a solo player succeed in such a competitive region. I'll catch you for a conversation someday soon.

Your dedication to this game really stands out in a community where people (even top players) apathetic about it. You have tons of insight and knowledge into the game that you never seem to mind sharing with anyone else. I really enjoyed our conversation at fuddruckers also. Would love to have you at SCR next year, because having you (and peanuts) would be dope.

I've been playing with you online for a good while, and finally having the chance to play offline was a ton of fun (even if I do get a bit salty). I had fun every minute I spent around you, and am glad to find that there is more than one person in the world who plays Advance Wars. Grats on your first Top 8, and i'm counting on you to fuck everyone up at NEC.

This is the fourth time i've been at a tournament with you this year. You did a great job handling the stress of running UNIB/SG, were a ton of fun to hang out with, and very supportive of every game out there. I first considered the idea of coming out to this tournament because you came to both SCR and NCR, and felt that I should return the favor. I look forward to hanging with you at every event, and you were the hardest person to say goodbye to this time. Really hope that I can catch you at SCR and ECT. also follow me back on twitter you ass

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

- That giant seagull outside of burger king.
- Turning the 10 minute walk to burger king into a 45 minute dungeon crawler. (Warped, Shade, @Lethalmind , Datagram)
- "Oh hey, it's bas-tee-on man" - Peanuts
- Alex Deusauto bashing skullgirls while spending the entire weekend with us
- The thing that happened at Fuddruckers. You know the one.
- Me constantly mishearing peanuts (Delici instead of delicious, Darude Island instead of Rhode Island, etc.)
- Being lost in the two trees inn for about 25 minutes
- Sage opening a bag of goldfish that wasn't his
- Warped slipping a penny into a handful of goldfish and everyone freaking out
- The old people who couldn't get on the shuttle because it was full of FGC nerds
- Anything else I missed


Admittedly a tear or two came down when I was thinking about this. I promise that this WILL NOT be my last skullgirls-related trip to the east coast. I would love to come to NEC, but it is incredibly inconvenient for me as it is before my finals and less than a month before AGDQ. ECT next year however is a very likely possibility, and I will most likely be trying to bring a few others from NorCal as well. Thanks everyone for making the end of my summer the best it could have possibly been.

All of this is really cheesy and all. Oops.

But seriously, I love you all. Memories like these are the things I go to when I'm really not sure if i'm happy with myself.

I'm a total zombie at work today, running on limited sleep, and lost all my money on the Blackjack tables....but damn it was worth it. Such a fun weekend, really glad I could be a part of it, and man you guys are a fun group to hang out with. Awesome experience for my first tournament, and I can't wait for the next time I get to chill with you guys.

This really is one of the best communities out there and I'm pumped to start becoming a part of it

Weird, I thought Smash players hated brawl. Why not just play Project M if you want the Brawl prettiness?

Couldn't they just replace the Brawl setups with, I dunno, a free play area? Or maybe some free weights?

Not like you can't play both. I'm sure all the people who entered USF4 also entered SSf4.
