This is the Spooky Update
Hello Boils and Ghouls! Welcome to our
Halloween…ish update! We’ve been up to our eyeballs in pirates and half-genies but thought it was high time that we came up for air long enough to share some news with ya’ll!
First, some bidness
The
new website redesign is coming along nicely and we're super stoked about it. We hope to have it live in a few weeks and then the real fun can begin! We don't want to oversell it or anything, but in our unbiased opinion it will be
the greatest website in the history of the internet. Fact.
We have received our final list of Kickstarter backers and begun the arduous task of collating all of the data. Who knew that
18,558 backers was so many people? I mean, we knew it was a lot, but it's like, A LOT a lot. And that's not counting the PayPal backers O.O We expect to send out emails to all backers (both Kickstarter and PayPal) in the next week or two to determine who has
pledged multiple times and on which sites.
Once we have gathered that info we will confirm that the proper accounts are connected on our end and then confirm those backers' desired reward tiers and
combine their pledges accordingly.
Once all current pledges are combined we will have accurate quantities for the remaining
limited reward tiers ($350 and above) and put those rewards on the PayPal store.
So for those of you who have been asking, we'll let you all know very soon (thanks for your patience ^_^)
Costumes, Clubs, and Shows of the Regular kind
Guess what? Apparently it's
Halloween next week! I know, we were just as surprised to find that out as you are. The last time we were in any major department store we bought a Christmas tree and some Easter eggs. Anyway, we thought what better way to celebrate than with a
Halloween Gamer Costume Contest!!
We were blown away by all of the incredible fanart that you guys made for the
Crunchyroll contest and figured there are probably a lot of you that get dressed to the nines for Halloween.
So dust off your Mario caps and make sure your Sonic sneakers are clean because our
5 Favorite Videogame Costumes (
any videogame, not just WayForward games) will receive a free download code for
Mighty Switch Force! 2 on Wii U!!!!
Exclamation point! Just email a pic of your costume (family friendly obviously, we may not be kids but we're kids at heart) and the name of the game that inspired it to
contest@wayforward.com.
If you need a break from making your amazing gaming costume and are looking for something to do in
Southern California this Saturday you should head on over to
Club Microwave!
Our illustrious composer
Jake"Virt" Kaufman will be in attendance making all your favorite noises alongside some other amazing chiptune artists.
This one's not to be missed!
Anyone here a fan of
Regular Show? Do you happen to live in Southern California? And do you like videogames (I certainly hope so)? Then you should come to the
Regular Show: Mordecai & Rigby in 8-bit Land Launch Party!
WayForward directors
Jeff Luke and
James Montagna will be in attendance who you have likely seen in some of our
WayForwardTV live-streams and
Jake "Virt" Kaufman will be playing music live! Again! He can't be stopped!
No seriously it's kind of a problem, he just keeps making music constantly.
Meanwhile, in the land of Kicks and Starts
We’ve been so overwhelmed by all of the amazing support we’ve received from the Kickstarter community that we felt it would be wrong not to spread the love around a bit. Therefore we’d like to share some of our favorite campaigns currently live on Kickstarter:
Boogerman is back! Boogerman Co-creator
Michael Stragey is the man behind many of WayForward's most beloved sidescrollers of yesteryear, and now he needs your help!
Mike pioneered our Game Boy Advance technology and lead the charge on
Sigma Star Saga, Shantae Advance, Godzilla Domination, Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris, and many more from that wondrous age of pixel gaming!
Now that he and Boogerman's other Co-Creator
Chris Tremmel are heading back to Booger-ville, please consider helping them out!
Everyone should also check out
You Are Not The Hero, one of our favorite new Kickstarter campaigns. This game looks super fun and is a neat twist on classic RPGs. They already blew past their funding goal but could totally use your help in hitting their Stretch Goals!
