Shantae Series

Bumped it up to 200. Because All these rewards sound good (but especially the physical music CD. God damn, I love me some Jake Kaufman musics.)

And it's over. $775,864 raised but nonetheless the $800K stretch goal is underlined as "Funded".
I was hoping it would at least make $900,000. Perhaps if the game's successful, they might get to that eventually. Here's hoping.

It saddens me a little to see this project struggle so hard even when it's not asking for much and all the while offering plenty and meanwhile "Not Megaman" so casually raises 4 million.
I'm very likely to get both (this for certain, jury's still out on MN9) but this was certainly the one I was rooting for the most.
(Very bummed that Shovel Knight isn't coming out on PSN, by the by.)

It's funded because there's another 30k or so from PayPal. The total from that is separate.
 
Yeah, it's too bad that many of the Beckers were apparently willing to tap out on M#9 and not budget for multiple projects, but oh well. At least Shantae is comfortably funded and managed to hit a few stretch goals. 800k is definitely nothing to scoff at either (we should know). Hopefully Wayforward gives HGH enough time to gather some more funds via Paypal, and we'll see what comes of it.

One thing's still for sure. 2014 is gonna be nuts!

Oh well at least Mighty No. 9 gave Shantae a shoutout in one of the updates since it was the least they could have done.

Eh, better than nothing I guess.
Was really hoping we'd get 100K more for those playable characters, but least we got costumes, two chapters, and an extra mode.

Bad timing really.
what made it worse though was that WayForward had talked about doing their Kickstarter long before Inafune even released his.
 
It may not have reached every stretch goal, but I'm delighted that they managed to raise as much as they did. With just all of the things that we did get, particularly Risky mode, this already feels to me like a game that'll have much more meat on its bones than the first two entries.

at least the paypal is still open and we can get the 500K more to get everything before the end of the year.

(I REALLY want cutscenes and voice overs. SO BAD!)

WELP! you got me there! but a little more support for shantae before this year is over would be swell considering MN9 is coming out in 2015 and shantae is coming out in 2014.

and the only thing mn9's shoutout did was fill up comments with "can you support [X] or [Y]?" which just left me extremely disappoint.

I'm mostly happy for everything I could do to support this, and will continue to do, but I'm glad we made it to the extra outfits.

I get to pistol whip enemies with Officer Shantae.

it also helps that MN9 has reached ALL of its goals, but I doubt anyone in comcept will be like "give any money you would have donated to Shantae" but it still means there can be a constant cash flow. maybe we'll get an end of the year jump in funds because holidays are known for holiday bonuses! christmas money can go to Shantae! the possibilities are endless! dont give up! DONT MAKE ME PULL OUT THE PUNCHING GIF YOUNG MAN!

I want Spanky Joe to make a comeback in the HD game.
 
Even though it might have cost WayForward a bit, I really enjoyed the cross promotion they were doing between Shantae and M#9. It illustrated the sort of collaborative movement Inafune was talking about, and I liked seeing how two major companies were actively inspiring each other with their work. It was almost like a small celebration of gaming history.

On that note, it was also refreshing to know that the creative spark wasn't gone from these folks that had been in the industry for so long. They got together because of their actual love for making games!

doubt it. making images of her in MN9 attire was prolly just to help promote it. plus, I cant see her playing any different from patricia wagon.

Pretty fun, I love the setting and the characters.
Good to know she's finally getting the recognition she deserves after all this time due to Indies getting to do their own thing
 
Guys, I have a confession, I didn't donate. I'm a college student and I'm living on my parents good graces right now so every single cent I spend has to be on something responsible, because every single cent belongs to my parents.
Food, water, supplies, but not Shantae. Not even Skullgirls. Sorry...

You still supported it by staying with it til the end. That doesn't make you a bad person.

Hell, I couldn't donate to Skullgirls at the time, but I kept cheering for it to reach it's goals anyway.

Well there's no reason to feel bad, you can still donate to this you know. Unless you don't have Paypal, then you can't. But for the next couple of months or so that'll be open and will supposedly go to the stretch goals that were lined out.
 
To be honest, I thought I donated too, but suddenly it said that my card has been declined. Thought I had some money last time I checked, but turns out I did not. At least we have paypal. :)
 
with paypal, I really hope we can eventually hit 1.3 mil.... ;A; I HOPE!

Pretty hype, it's pretty much an investment at the moment, btu a bunch of good games ARE out for it, and a LARGE portion of Kickstarter games are gonna be on the Wii U
Including Shantae.

Glad I contributed, with all the exclusive content we're getting. I am so happy that we all made it. And the stretch goals too! Reeeallly wanted playable Risky and those three costumes (Patricia Shantae, yes). Cannot wait to see the excitement continue as the game is being worked on.
 
Alright, beat Shantae.
For what it is,it's incredible that they managed to get this ona Gameboy Color cartridge, really great world and characters. I care more about this world than I do, say, Halo's world.
Now I'm REALLY glad it's getting the recognition it deserves!

I can only hope Risky's Revenge is just as good.
Might get that right the fuck now, even!

Duuuuude, Shantae is pretty and all (both the game and the girl),
but how can you say that after seeing stuff like this?
