Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

So got back into P5 now that some things have settled down. Does anyone else find it weird that Atlus doesn't have conversation portraits and reaction cut-ins for Morgana as a cat while in the real world? That mascot face while she's a feline in a bag looks off.

my guess is they just didn't want to draw the cat reacting in a wacky way, since the cat is supposed to be an incognito form (even though he's forced to look like that outside of mementos)

Persona 4 has purest boi Kanji
No one in P5 approaches him. Yusuke would have if they didn't see fit to have given him the worst character introduction in the game

Continuing my slow trek through Persona 5: Smelling the flowers edition.
This time after clearing Futaba's dungeon I managed to raise my Charm enough to access Toga's social link and it immediately became the strongest Rank 1 perk in the entire franchise. Being able to switch out party members almost fully compensates for not having the ability to switch out persona on individual party members. This is going to change a lot about grinding and boss fights now that the party has greater flexiibility and I look forward to what future perks the Tactical Social Link provides.

However, the actual first session of the Social Link was pretty lackluster as it basically amounts to you being told to stop admitting you're a beginner and just play a professional level player blind. And when she finally realizes instead of being peeved she wants more because "I sense a gamblers spirit within you" which I'm translating as "You are the Main Character so let's do this". I think the writing for the Social Links has been decent up to this point with Takemi being my favorite of the one's I've unlocked.

all that reminds me is of how Makoto literally has the worst s. link in the game
you can't complete it or it just ruins her persona

So, uh.

The P5 anime is out.

It’s bad. P4 remains as the only Persona game with a good anime adaptation.
 
The actions scenes so far have been pretty underwhelming yeah. But other stuff has been ok.

seeing kamoshida go for the punch on Shido was a bit chilling. I didn't think he hit the female students as well.

However the All Out attacks are uh....Blazblue anime quality bad. Ugh. They need to fix those and the fights pronto. Im hoping the boss fights are entertaining at least...

Oh, also the anime is said to going to be a bit different from the games in some way, so im sticking around till I see what exactly that is, and I hope its not going to be the one thing everyone called on literally days after its release.
 
So did anyone pick up DSJ? No one talked about it.
 
Really? The game came out in, like what, August for Japan? And I know some people have been playing it for a week or so, must have leaked.

Nintendo and if I recall correctly Japan in general don't seem to agree with you.

Though I actually do, at least as far as "kill the 3DS goes", I'm not exactly excited for "let's put stupid shit in SJ instead of just porting it or changing it in a way that matters". Will probably end up playing it anyway, but meh.

unrelated to SJ but i had a dream last night that we got a new Raidou game developed by the Yakuza team and now my life feels significantly emptier without that

I wouldn't mind a Persona 5 Fighting Game with P4 characters older, like what happened with P3.
Or a spin-off focusing on other characters in the future or past. Someone suggested a Nanako game or focusing on other NPCs that was a decent idea.
guess we'll find out.

But as for Anime, I imagine it'll be a movie version of one of the games... or a Dancing All night Anime.

It’s confirmed that it cannot be that.

Atlus said they wouldn’t make or greenlight another Persona Arena game unless Cross Tag Battle does well.
