That's a cool and simple battle system. I like it. As for the voice acting there, i'm alright with doing lines for the battle. As you said, it'd give more opportunity to be a bigger part of the project.

I'm going to plan a secret boss fight in Hurtings story mode.

I will give you a hint.

It includes one of the bosses from Xenoblade Chronicles (which I love by the way)

Hey so with the new version some screwy shit happens if i even try to do anything past going to little innsmouth? Is that a result of being heavy alpha or a problem that hasn't been fixed yet? It was like that in 0.06 too.

It's just because that's how far their stories go. For now I guess don't know when it will be changed.

Guys, I really need you to answer these questions I've been asking, particularly about the VA stuff. I've been working very hard on the game for the last few days (especially the battle system), so again, I would really appreciate some more communication from you.

I'm currently looking for someone to voice Samson for the battle VA clips. I have someone in mind, but I'd like to give anyone interested a chance to try out (just know that I don't have any advanced sound editing software so I won't be able to add effects and filters, unless someone wants to volunteer for that too). If interested, please post in this thread with a short audition.

Hmm, that could work, but I'd have to shrink the sprites considerably to show their feet touching the ground. I'm afraid they'd be too small in the end, but I could see how it'd work.

Also, the fight in the final game won't go exactly how it went in that vid. Valentine and Double both had an obscenely high amount of health (1800 each), so I decided to nerf them like hell and put them at around 1200. Still trying to strike that perfect balance between not too hard and not too easy.

Especially considering the "Team Heal" skill may be unavailable in some playthroughs.

Well, She does have a giant bath house with huge-ass statues hanging from the ceiling so it would be a surprise if she didn't like a good amount of coin. (Bones in the SG universe?)
 
He's kinda pissed that no'one's noticing the RPG engine that has like 5 of it's own seperate scripts
Oh, ok, I can cover it tonight like I was planning on doing in like an hour since right now I'm doing SSgRPG.
He should trust me more. I don't make promises I can't keep. I don't lie.

I decided to come up with a Living Weapon idea on a whim.

Ascalon: A retractable lance capable of normal lance-y things, but is also able to shift its tip into second form that can fire concentrated beams of white energy. The weapon is very heavy even when retracted, possibly making it hard to conceal. Leviathan might get a bit nervous around it, as well.

Also, thanks for showing everyone what the "Game Over" screen looks like LOL

EDIT: Oh, also, some changes I made to the battle system:
  • Soften now has a "down arrow" animation
  • The :SQG: that appears in the player's battle menu now has arrows around it that light up when you hover over them
If anyone who saw the stream has any other suggestions or concerns, please share them.

Hey @Mc.Rad a bit of inspiration for ya. Seems like some of the VA's want to see the unofficial dating sim when its finished.

where in the video? Like which minute?
 
Well they didn't technically mention Skulldate by name or anything, they just said, if someone had the resources, that they would like to see a dating sim of Skullgirls made. It's very evident they weren't taking the idea seriously, though.

I wonder if anyone does.

Just wait till this is finished and in the first few months of release they'll be playing it on Voices of Gaming, I bet you.

I just need a generic mafia-looking guy in a suit and holding a knife, with a transparent BG and preferably no larger than 450x750. The closer you can draw it to the Skullgirls style, the better.

Now that there's a battle system in place, It's opened the door to a plethora of side mission options. If all goes well, Squigly's route is planned to have 3 optional fights, all of which are very intense. Right now I'm working on one involving Medici Tower, which is why that Medici sprite would be appreciated sooner rather than later.

Are there any plans for repeat playthrough rewards? Even if its something small like increasingly more money when you start off?
