It's (almost) Beowulf time! New Meridian's celebrity wrestler and Gigan slayer Beowulf will be made available to Steam, PS3, and Xbox 360 players on April 17th. As with all previous DLC characters, Beowulf will be free for three months after his release. If you redeem him in that time period, you own him forever. Don't miss out!

Additionally, Lab Zero Games have spilled a bean or two about the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita releases of Skullgirls. Owing to the sheer amount of new content included in the next-gen editions (All previous DLC characters, new game modes, and other miscellaneous unannounced features), Skullgirls on PS4/Vita will be released as Skullgirls 2nd Encore. Lab Zero Games was happy to announce all players across the PlayStation family of consoles will be able to play against each other online! Skullgirls 2nd Encore will also be cross-buy, meaning that buying a copy on PS4 will net you a digital download on PSVita, and vice-versa.


Curious how Robo-Fortune's coming along? Lab Zero Games released a video showing off all their progress on Skullgirls' latest character, accompanied by the never-before-heard stage music of Meridian Area Rapid Transit!



Finally, Big Band slims down in a new line of plushies from Sanshee! The first Skullgirls merchandise of its kind, Lil' Band is perfect for snuggling, putting on your nightstand in dramatic poses, and making trio players rip their hair out. He's too cute for me not to mention, so give him a home!

Scythana is probably reserved for another storyline.
 
Yeah as much as I don't mind Scythana but she's alot like beowulf where If she one the vote over Beowulf then we probably wont ever see Beowulf in the canon story.

I take it the 2nd Encore stuff will stay PS4/Vita exclusive? Or will it eventually make it to PC?
 
I wonder what new features they have planned for the PS4 release.

Hopefully they'll find their way onto PC eventually....
 
Skullgirls 2nd Encore. I don't know, I think the name is a bunch of badassery.

I made the mistake of reading the Youtube comments, and now my head is starting to hurt from all of the facepalming. Yes internet, the game has male characters, and it's out on PC. Maybe you guys should check it out sometime!

Seriously, how can people pretend like they know anything about this game, when they apparently haven't bothered to look up a single thing about it in the last TWO years?? It almost makes the "I thought this game was dead" comments seem well-informed.

I guess that's why the Skullgirls launch party never ends, because for every new trailer there's always a group of people that didn't even know the game was released.

He is definitely just Kanji, just like how Necro is just Blanka.

The game can only have girls, its in the name, just like how Mario Kart can only use "Karts".

This game is definitely a Capcom Vs Marvel rip-off.

Big Band never existed.

Trailer looks cool. Congrats on being one of the first games to update on PSN other than Friday! I am eager to buy a PS4 to play this when I get the chance (and some other games).
