TO CLARIFY THAT:
The Beowulf DLC for Europe will be delayed. The PATCH will still be the same time everywhere, because that is us pushing the Go button.
Out of curiosity, will invites also work between the versions? Just curious since I know the PS4 version of Xrd doesn't allow invites at all and BBCP Extend is already looking to not allow cross console invites. I'm wondering if this is a technical limitation or just something they didn't program in.
Really? There are NO invites on PS4, even PS4->PS4?
Cross-platform invites are "sort of" a technical limitation, here's the scoop as far as I understand it (which isn't very far):
There are two versions of the invite system. One is STRONGLY recommended for developers' use by all of the PS3 documentation, and gives you all the sexy UI screens like "choose from friends list" etc. It's easy to implement, it's fast to use, and any bugs are not your problem. The other is only mentioned in a few places in the docs as "an alternate method", is more difficult to implement, and doesn't provide pre-made UI for you to use. Pretty much nobody used that one.
So
of course, the PS3-recommended invite system was scrapped on PS4, and the PS4 only supports the "alternate method".
Invites sent with one method are NOT COMPATIBLE with the other. So for any PS3 game that used the recommended method (basically all of them), in order to send/receive invites with PS4s, the
entire PS3 invite system in the game needs to be rewritten to use the "alternate method". That is a bunch of hooey.
If Xrd indeed doesn't support invites on PS4, it's likely that Arc didn't want to tangle with the "alternate method" at all, and just used the recommended method on PS3 and called it done.
Given our workload, the same
may end up being true of SG. I reaaaaaaaaaaaaally don't want to rewrite the entire invite system and possibly introduce bugs.
The flag on Beo's stage need that Robo Fortune art. it's to BA not to add it XD
She and Fukua (and Marie) are chalk, accept it and move on.
