Skullgirls PC Beta Updates Discussion

So Double change quickly got us an article on SRK without us begging.
Now we know how to get quick coverage on SRK. Include a reference to Guilty Gear. Elda_Taluda Kumite featuring Guilty Gear music.
And when I make a video that takes days of planning and editing, no dice.

But yeah, take the video that took 10 minutes to do and zero editing, why don't ya?

Can I suggest a name for Double's super? "Shifty Amorphing Puddle Danger"
Amorphous Executor

Just combine Eddie's supers.

man can we PLEASE
talk about how we can do the cr.hp -> combo or cr.hp -> luger so good now
be like
man you hit me with the cr.hp so good. ow! wish you didn't cr.hp me so good

Can someone who speaks sage language translate this for me?
"Man can we PLEASE"
This is a exclamation of excitement. The all caps of the please is important, as it indicates exactly how excited he is. It's important to note the punctuation; an exclamation point would have been either angry, or perhaps anxious/nervous, while a question mark would have been very surprised or confused, and finally a period would have roughly the same translation as stated above.

"talk about how we can do the cr.hp -> combo or cr.hp -> luger so good now"
This is a fairly easy translation. He's merely giving examples of uses for c.hp. He makes use of the "so good" exclamation, we'll go over that in a moment but for now just remember "so good", it's important.

"be like"
He's setting us up for an example. Consider this like you would "Ex:".

"man you hit me with the cr.hp so good. ow! wish you didn't cr.hp me so good"
This one is a more complex translation. The overall tone is very joyous, with a hint of fear. He's going in depth about his opponents reaction to getting hit, and he repeats "so good" a few times, both here and earlier. The literal translation for that is "Really well", so you could take this to mean he's going over just how in awe the opponent would be at his c.hp.

You are the greatest, I love you

Was the purpose of Monster to be a trap like super/combo changer, rather than just a damage adder? Blue bounce seems to activate Monster's puddles, which would be weird if it was meant to be a trap super of some sort. Was just wondering if this was intentional.
@Mike_ZEdit: Also why would Monster add undizzy to combos?

Anybody try landing a super you can't normally combo off of, DHC into Monster!, then link Bandwagon off it? I tried to do it with Fukua's Drill super, but my laptop overheated right on the last hit of Bandwagon, so I don't know if the knockback lines up right. I can't test right now, but it totally looks like it should plop them right into the puddle.

If it works, that's cool as hell. I'd really like to see that with Super Sonic Jazz, too.

so after reading some of the suggestions from sage and isavulpes and after playing some games. Is there any overpowering factor in letting fukua have strike invincibility on M Drill? if not, may we try it out?

So was the idea with the high arc useful-as-a-reversal m bomber that you could get a 1-bar puddle bite combo off it?

also get hype for Double being able to chain her jabs like the other reindeer

This works. Kinda.
Depends on the spacing from what I tried.

That's encouraging, I guess. I can't wait to play with this some more.

Try doing stuff like
st.mk
j.hp air dash j.lp j.mp j.mk(ayy overhead) stuff and lemme know how it works out for u
I tried this against Khaos but he blocked it :C

You can do really cool facing-out-of-corner stuff with monster have yet to find midscreen or facing corner stuff

I've been doing dumb stuff like j.MK right before I land so the startup animation is very subtle while still allowing the attack to come out. You can make j.MK and c.MK hit pretty close to each other without having the unblockable protection happen.

I'm liking the new super, it's interesting and has some utility that Double's other supers don't provide. That said, what is the intent behind this super? At an initial glance it seems like it wants to be a set up/trap tool, but given Double's current tools and the properties of the super it doesn't really seem to play out that way.

Are we willing to entertain the idea of giving Double more puddle tools? For example, j.hk could leave a small puddle if it hits the ground, or imagine if holding hp when doing heavy Luger left a puddle instead of doing the ricochet. You could even do things like have one of the flesh steps move the puddle instead of Double, or have puddles that work like SoID that activate on button release. And of course these puddles would have a different effect from her super. It could be something simple like the Avery animation from j.hk popping out of the ground.

Of course this would change how she plays quite a bit and would also require a decent bit of work, but I dunno... I think it would be kinda fun. I like puddles :D

lol then play carmine in uniel.

edit: darn you khaos you WOULD post right before my post replying to the post above your post

When's Double 2? 2ouble. 2ukua.

Lol carmine is pretty much the only character I play in uniel...

Anyways, for some more realistic feedback...could we try having the opponent fly out of the monster mouth instead of fall from the sky? It would change some properties of the super, but I feel like it might possibly make more sense visually.

When the fuck did double ever make sense?

This is where I'd joke about giving Big Band an AK-47 if I didn't think this was one of the better threads on Skullheart and was facilitating good discussion.

Give Big Band a Shock Rifle

You can't dodge double's car with H drill anymore?
man, I liked that
I agree with taking H drill hit invul out, tho

I additionally wish to add in that considering Double has that whole Holy Trinity thing going on, naming Monster! as The New Testament makes sense.

And the New Testament in the Bible involves a lot of monsters and biting and stuff. I think. I used to be a Christian. I tried to read the Bible.

Not going to lie, having a second Double using different attacks and incorporating some of the ones from the newer characters sounds pretty cool.

Although that's entirely up to Lab Zero's budget and if they even want to bother. I'd guess most of that work would fall onto Mike just putting it together since all the assets would already be there.
