wtf how would that make her combos cooler? Her SDE combos weren't cool at all and she could airdash out of hairball every single time.

Well, cooler to me anyways.

Alternatively! Can we just forget all that and make her psych loops easier like Fukua's are?
If Filia went LMH she would barely be able to even do them.. though maybe that's the point.
 
hey guys how's the spooky two fireballs thing? Fukua can't combo if they hit but how is her zoning?

Honestly I think some characters already have trouble with Fukua's zoning.

And then you finally walk Fukua into the corner to keep her from running away and then oh no j.HK in my face. :(

Anyway this buff was mostly a buff for LP ground fireball which I don't think sees much use anyway, so I don't think its a big deal.

I wasn't making any claims about fairness or whether or not anything or anybody was too good or too bad. I was just saying that the bulk of the changes hit Wing very hard and that his fights against Stuff demonstrate them clearly (including the portions where Wing adapts to the changes in the third set). Wing obviously didn't not win the tournament, but he came close to it which brought up the point of discussion.



However, I'm actually pretty sure that upback blocks crossup j.HK now more often than not because your collision box prevents the crossup.


edit: I will make the claim that I think if Wing went solo Parasoul he wouldn't have even been sent to Loser's and if he went solo Filia he would have been eliminated. Just as an observation.

iad j.hk can still cross up regardless of up back it seems (it just crosses up as they jump in the air) wing might've just done it too slow (although I'm on keyboard atm so I can't really do this test as well as I'd like to.) So basically Mike was right. Now I can just seem to jump now but it'll (cross up j.hk) still hit if it wants to. (and maybe it's tighter? I dunno I'm not the best keyboard player.)

Mystery solved maybe.

At least it's solved to me.

I don't think the Filia nerfs "hit me hard" at all. I lost 2 mixups. Filia has a bunch of other ones. @Broken Loose pls don't base your opinions off one tourney. If your trying to make a point that Filia was nerfed too hard, I'm not a good example. She's fine. Get back to discussing things that could benefit the game, and not other people's play. (Sorry if I derailed the thread a bit.)
 
yo i am totally fine with people dropping filia if they find her combos boring....

I am not interested in whether you think her combos are boring. I happen not to, and would opine that you are 100% wrong in pretty much everything you said about how she feels.
(In the same way that Doom's TAC infinite or Viper's staircase combos or ROM become less interesting the more one sees them even though they were WTFAwesome the first time, you need to judge on technical merit or initial impact or something.)

Regardless of that, I am not going to change a character's neutral drastically, like by giving her 5 overheads in a row, just to change their combos. Please refrain from offering that as a reason for anything. :^)

I feel like Filia is overall better tbh

Although I would like to make a minor suggestion @Mike_Z

Currently, Filia's c.MK will not connect properly after a certain range. This seems be because the 3rd hitbox sends the opponent outword and the 4th hitbox is noticeably smaller than all the other hitboxes, causing it to whiff sometimes. Can the hitbox on the 4th hit be extended out just a tiny bit to keep this from happening?

And to a lesser extent, it would be nice if c.MK got the Valentine MPx2 treatment and pulled the opponent down so the opponent doesn't randomly drop out of combos if it connects while they are airborn.
 
Playing with Fukua's fireball changes. It sounds better than it is. That's what my first impressions are telling me lol.

Tells us more pls, this is the type of thing i come to forums for... To see what people are complaining about and what other regions/players think.

Japanese players are like... Not heard from at all on this forum, so its really hard to see where they come from on certain things such as val being bad and other stuff i dont agree with, yet want an explanation for:


Things that someone disagrees with are the things that will more than likely teach someone something new if that someone is proven wrong.

So I'm always looking for stuff that i disagree with so that i can either teach someone who has it wrong or, better yet, learn something new myself.

Doesnt work so much for teaching people things cause they just want to win arguments, but its still good for learning things.




TLDR:

It would be cool to know jap observations about the game, no matter the redundancy of said observations, because you never know when some small thing can have big ramifications to your thinking.
 
The short version is that Japan thinks Fukua ruins the game because her fireballs are too hard to deal with already, and now she has TWO of them!

Some translations from Twitter:

"Regarding the recent changes, Fukua being able to have 2 love darts on the screen at once is way too good. Having Fukua, whose abilities are already head and shoulders above, get even better will make figuring out ways to deal with her hopeless. Please do something about this."

"Changing the subject, the reason Fukua is always said to be too good is her air fireball and how it can cover so many areas with its various directions. Why not nerf this? Now 2 of them can be on the screen in the beta and it's way too good. I really think you should fix it."

"Pardon me. Several people have already messaged you about it, but I feel that the change to Fukua's fireballs make her much too strong, so I hope you adjust it. Thank you."

And from the patch notes, in English:
"- She can now have one air and one ground fireball onscreen at the same time, rather than only one fireball onscreen. ←This adjustment will be directed to ruin Skullgirls.Fukua is too too strong!"
 
i honestly don't know yet. the air fireball already dissipates. then you get to land so you go into either H dart or M dart. so the change doesn't even affect that to my knowledge.

I'll continue to emphasize the fireballs and observe the changes though.

Try L fireball then tk H fireball
or maybe H fireball tk H fireball I dunno I don't play fukua but I can certainly see her having patterns for zoning. But I think the zoning aspect is cool (although I've not experimented with fukua myself)

I tried both of those. its not as impact-ful as you would imagine. Thanks for the suggestion!

THOUGH TK M fireball, L fireball or vice versa is interesting. i've thought of a few ideas for fukua, but i'm not sure if its even appropriate to share in this thread. Of course i'm just very skeptical of my own ideas and think other people would think its stupid so i'll just go back to testing.

Just tried this and it does seem to cover quite a good bit, but it doesnt seem like its instant coverage like Peacock. i can see it being annoying but cant tell just yet, any fukua's wanna spar abit to test her out?
 
Maybe add M shadow into the mix? that should cover a bunch but recovery is a thing. you don't have to tk there's enough time to just jump regularly too

what if you add a peacock projectile assist this change sounds so cool.

With 2 airdashes? Easily 7, maybe 9 if she had old j.HK.

@Fukuas Double Fireball: Fukua is already pretty much safe to call air fireball whenever. So she can call air fireball, and if she looks good (meaning they aren't directly on top of her while also not being hit by the fireball) she is sorta allowed to just throw another one, and if that one goes great thanks to the air fireball, she can jump and start over again. But I guess she can sorta do the same thing already with air fireball mk shadow. Or something. Maybe. I don't know. Don't listen to me.

Japanese is a very polite language when addressing people you don't know. Even the irate stuff we get is like "This extremely poor, please fix."
 
Now I'm wondering what was so extremely poor that they resorted to such a curt tone.

I'm sure the double fireball thing isn't as drastic as some people are saying but on the other hand I thought she was still a pretty good character even for that one patch where her shadows kinda sucked, so I don't feel like she really needs anything now that her shadows have been partially unnerfed.

Yeah, that's more accurate. I only took one class in dekillspeak way back in highschool so I forgot a lot.
Lets not forget about the incident where two letters connected during S A D B O Y S.
It's okay though you'll catch on soon, like riding a bike.
