Um, i wasn't too impressed paying 20 dollars for copy paste characters, with copy paste stages and a new character which basically was a ridiculous ton of reused assets.
I'd like to get a bang for buck
How many $40 games do you play that last you 6months up to 10 years?
To make this simple; Ultra has had
- SF4: $40
- Super: Let's say another $40
- AE: $20 or somesuch
- v2012: Free
- Ultra: $20 or somesuch
For a total of ~$120
.. and has lived since 2008; it is now !over 6 years! alive and kicking
If you think that is not "a bang for buck", that means [120/40 = 3; 6/3 = 2;] ..
You expect every 40$ game you buy to provide you significantly more than 2 years of fun.
What about that RPG you complete after 2 months, complete a second time, then never touch again? 3-4 months.
What about that Puzzle game you buy on your phone for 5$ and play for a month, before you forget about it? That'd be 8 months at full price.
What about going to a movie, which is like $10 for 3 hours lel
etc
Fact of the matter is, for a "normal" game, 100-200h played are an exceptional load.
For a fighting game, 500-1000h is more of an average amount.
As such, clearly, asking for 3x the price isn't grasped out of thin air
Could they do it for less, and/or manage their money better, and/or try harder in making a good game? Probably, yeah.
But it's still not like $120 over the stretch of 6 years is any amount of money for something you enjoy.
