The Official League of Legends Thread!

Finally a reason to actually play other than just to play the game has had serious problems with games not even being worth it so I'm glad they're making the change

the meta recently has been very stagnant ngl. Its mostly tanks+healers and then the carry. Anything else doesnt bring much to the table rn

Me today while Overwatch announces a queen like Moira and League tries to steal attention by reposting the Zoe teaser on their twitter right after OWs announcements.

Spotlight's don't come out until a couple of days before the champion goes live.

She looks really fun

I do wanna try her playstyle a lot. I wonder how she'll do as a support. She has an ability called "spell thief" doesn't she?

Hate her whole thing with Ezreal though... she's a kid I don't know why riot is doing this

Your 21k Blue Essence says otherwise.
I had a total of 33k after the reward. Also got Battle Boss Ziggs from the Epic rune reward chest =D

edit: Finally =D

edit: Just played my first PvP match as Zoe (though aram). She's interesting. The only thing I really hate is her ult. I have to click to cast instead of pointing in the direction I want and she does it. Quick cast sorta fixes my issue but it's not the same feeling I guess. eh. Still was fun though. I also Paddle Balled for over 1k damage on a minion and I was nearly deleting the enemy (mostly cause no one built MR lol)

The one thing I don't like about the Swain update is that they got rid of his cane. I was attached to that cane.

Random Quick Question
What does High-level League of Legend play look like?

I mean I've played the game once or twice back in the day but I can't imagine people playing it
on a pro level. Not that the game is bad, Noo- Noo- I'd a great game ╹‿╹)
Just not my cup of tea ya know?
But yeah, what does high-level play in this game look like?

I'm guessing like a ligament fantasy game war lolz ◠‿◠)
Sorta like fire emblem in terms or planned attacks and ambushes.
Like Garen (Remeber this guy being one hell of a tank) leading the charge of a small
party of champions against the others and more stealthy/Debuffy guys hanging back
and guarding the base while the other brings the battle to them haha ╹‿╹)~★

So.
How off am I from the actual thing?
Do pro battles really go down like that or am I waaay off base here?
╹‿╹)

Been months since I played league but I hope I can help answer this a bit.

High level play is more team oriented than what you will see in low ranked play. Not quite as glorious as having Garen lead the charge but there are regular lane shifts. People staying behind at base isn't that common from what I see as you will need to win team engages in the rift otherwise the enemy will have superior numbers when they push into the base.

Think about it like this. In low ranked play, when the match starts people move to their designated lanes and usually don't stray from it outside of whoever is providing a leash for the jungler. In high-ranked play the whole team will move through the jungle as a unit looking to pick off members of the enemy team as early as possible for the gold advantage.

You also notice that people don't necessarily die that often in ranked matches as sometimes first blood doesn't happen for 6-10 minutes.

Ah, I see.
Well, I can't say I'm not a 'little' disappointed that battle isn't as epic as I first thought they would be. =‿=)
(Like Ike vs the back knight epic)
But the type of play could be pretty interesting to watch too. From the sounds of it:
Low-level play has more of a head to head type feel to it where it's a bit more lively but people
are dying left and right trying to claim the lane they're on

While High-level play sounds like watching a snowflake slowly turn into a snowball than into a permafrost bolder. Like a slow build to a set-up to an unstoppable force am I right?

Low level play is more about individual lanes trying to carry their best and then the teams will pull together once laning phase is over. Since players aren't really the best at working together (Solo-queue is basically a lottery on whether or not your team is competent) you have people trying to do their best to be the biggest man on campus. You definitely see the mentality of "kills over objectives" play out more here.

If I were to describe Higher-level play, it's like watching a group react to conditions more organically. The snowball analogy isn't too far off really. Each team is trying to get the most benefits over the other team; denying objectives, denying creep farm, denying items through throttling their gold advantage.

I'd say just watch the grand finals for Worlds and any of the Mid Season Invitationals to get a feel for higher level play.

Lolz, I could see matches turning out like that ◠‿◠)
Like a bunch of lone wolfs who wanna prove that their [insert character's name] is the best [insert character's name]
(Honestly, I'd love to see a match like that first hand ╹‿╹)~★)

And From the sounds of it, High-level matches seem more so like a battle of wits and know-how of the game. I mean, in a scenario like that a team could beat another without the other team realizing how bad of a situation therein until it's too late to do anything about it lolz ╹‿╹)

And thanks for pointing me in the right direction dooder,
I'll see if I can find any LoL tournaments on youtube so I can get a first-hand
look at this biz ◠‿◠)

yeah,. High level is all about trying to out play the enemy as a team than just walking around thinking you can do things alone. It does get pretty nuts. Sometimes even in the lower tiers can see such action when the stars align.

Riot is redoing Annie's story from her being a super powerful magician that captures a type of beast as a teddy bear to a super sad story.

Wow...that was fantastic.
I mean the story it self was tragic, Heartbreaking even but-

When I first clicked on that vid I was expecting a 20 second or so trailer with a gloomy peep giving some narration while zooming into the characters back while the peep themselves are facing forward.
Looking at whatever there gimic is before turning to the camera ether smiling, frowning or fading out before you see there face. Giving away what type of character they would be but this-

This goes above and beyond in terms of backstory building! I mean I full on the short movie really going into detail about the feel and letting you feel what you want to feel as you see things that made her into what she is playing out in front of you!

It's brilliant! ◠‿◠)
