The Smash Bros Discussion Thread

Though, If we're gonna be honest, I think a 3rd Party Character might be a bit far fetched.
But then again, they revealed Pac-Man AFTER NINTENDO'S DIGITAL EVENT
And basically all by himself on a day after the other four.
So who knows?

3DS Final Destination? Or, it even looks like Brawl Final Destination is a 3DS Past Stage?

That's for sure 3DS Final Destination. The platform itself could be similar to Brawls, but I don't think the background ever went like that, over a blue sea with a clear sky.
 
It might still be, actually. It's a different color, but Brawl's Final Destination had a sunset version of that same background.
 
Also, someone on Smash Boards pointed out that the Xenoblade company has retweeted stuff about Smash Bros before, but mostly more about the Nintendo Directs where they showed X stuff.
So they might be hype or hey Shulk.
Probably no way of knowing.
 
I mean I would cause there is now a precedence of devs retweeting when nintendocentric events occur that have their properties in them..and a precedence of gematsu being right over and over.

A corporate twitter account is rarely a place for hype without promotion.

Like Gematsu reminds me very much of the Lupinko mvc3 leaks which was missing thor but had shuma and jill. Or the very first mvc3 leaked document..that in the end was essentially right even though it had two more characters in it.

Like Gematus has the bits people don't like or that people find vague which are then used to attempt to discredit it such as: An X or Y pokemon, "Safe choices", chorus men, sal calling his list a prediction on neogaf and then posting it as news on his website, absence of Mii Fighters, Pac-Man, and Little Mac from E3 2013, Rosalina absent, lack of characters people want, and not believing leaks could ever actually occur in the wild.

but at the same time the meat of the characters have all been correct so far.. probably about a year later which is amazing.

Here are the posted "leaks" in the spoilers for easy access.

Second one - Last year, Gematsu was tipped off prior to E3 about six new characters supposedly set to appear in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and for Nintendo 3DS.

They were: Mega Man, Villager (Animal Crossing), Wii Fit Trainer, Little Mac (Punch Out), Pac-Man, and Mii (Wii series).

So far, all but Pac-Man and Mii have been confirmed.

Today, we received a new e-mail from the same tipster, who claims Pac-Man and Mii are still on the way, and the following characters will also appear:

  • Shulk (Xenoblade)
  • Palutena (Kid Icarus)
  • Chrom (Fire Emblem: Awakening)
  • Chorus Men (Rhythm Heaven)
  • Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y
Take it all with a grain of salt for now, but there’s a Super Smash Bros.-focused Nintendo Direct happening later today. If these claims are accurate, it’s likely we’ll hear about at least one of these new characters there.
Hey, guys.

Funny that this page is talking about a new e-mail, because that's exactly why I'm here. Received one last night, but missed it in the mix of all this crazy E3 coverae.

But there's not much new about it, so I didn't think it was worth posting on the site.

I'll leave what it says here, though, in case you guys can use it in any way.

Basically, I was told that:

- Last E3 before game's launch (obviously)
- Participating characters: Pac-Man, Mii Fighter, Goddess Palutena, Shulk, Chrom, Chorus Men (none of these are new, obv, so I take he means these are the participating characters for E3?)
- There has been internal debate about keeping Lucas versus Ness, apparently Lucas is likely to get the cut
- Nintendo is planning post-launch character DLC, source doesn't like this as he thinks it's greedy

And that's it. This E3 should make or break whether this guy's the real deal. Let's hope for the best! =)

To be fair this entire game is giving me huge Captain N vibes, to the point I'm waiting for the Captain N reboot soon co-staring megaman and sonic with special guesses for major Nintendo exclusives (like Wonder Red) . . . (that and the fact that Captain N is a name randomly selected for the cpu in Kid Icarus solo Deathmatch games [as well a King Hippo])

Well, I think that it might also have Pit in it, I hope.

I guess with that intro, an ending video with a character reveal (or any news really) isn't out of the question.
