Sakurai will add both. I mean, many thought there would be no more Capcom characters becaus Megaman was in game.

I'm gonna assume you guys saw the Cloud reveal.

I'm honestly kind of disappointed, because I don't really like FF7.
Woulda preferred Banjo or Shantae first.

I liked FF7 first (just not as much as 5 & 6. I should play 4 sometime). But the fanbase changed my opinion on it.

If you let fans ruin something for you before even trying it, you probably didn't care that much to begin with.

I cared enough to buy it on steam (FULL PRICE) and go through the account bullshit to play it.
and i was not impressed because it didn't meet the expectations other fans gave to me.

I knew it, i fucking knew it, i knew Square was gonna get involved sooner or later, either in this smash or the next one, but it was this one, i had it in mind for a long time, but i was expecting somebody else, like Vivi or Sora or even Deku, Cloud never really came to mind since it was with his FF game that Square jumped from the Nintendo wagon into the Sony one.

I didn't even play the game where Neku is from and I'd kill several world leaders to get him in

I'm entirely aware of that, I didn't really think it needed to be said, but they're clearly banking purely on iconic characters and popular opinion right now, which especially makes sense when you remember they're charging for these characters.
 
Well it's working
I'm a huge opponent of third party characters in smash and Cloud is just dumb enough for me to want/appreciate

Well I assume the thing happening in December will announce the last bit of DLC for the game. It is indeed worded weirdly, but I think this Smash Direct will be the last one primarily focused on Smash, but maybe we'll get like a release date for the last bit of DLC in a future Direct in February or something.
