The Wulf Den

Besides i ended up hearing beowulf will be a pallet cleanser for the sheer wtfery that was eliza which you know we need a little bit more of an uplifting story because the ones we've had were squigly and band

I think the song is called "Daybreak" from the soundtrack.
Oh snap, Daybreak?! I absolutely love that track, but oh man, it just makes me feel so much....takes me to places.

When I see it now though with the temporary music, I think how Beowulf might have visited the empty arena one more time before he retired, and that's really sad.
Agreed, kind of like a flash through his greatest moments, and then reflecting on some of the bad moments like the Grendel thing and deciding "It's enough. Time to stop here..." and walking off into retirement. Man, that could be a sad, but really powerful moment.

But have yall seen the regular arena in motion? All the banners moving and the crowd bobbing... it's beautiful. I'm not sure but the banners seemed to react to the battle. Not sure, didn't have time to test because family is showing up too early.

They do, it's the same like in other stages when you land "heavy hits" part of the scenery or background characters react to it. It's a very nice touch.

I was so focused on the empty stage that I didn't even notice that the full stage has been updated. It looks like all it's missing is the music. Speaking of stage effects, do the air grab finisher with Beowulf. Not only does the stage shake and spectators jump up, pyrotechnics light up in the background.

Pictures pls I must see

Loving the "Arooo" card someone's holding, doubly love it because it's below the (single) wolf moon poster!

DDB has become so famous that his catch phrase is now in the game.
Fuck my life.
Well, dang, never thought I'd see that... :o

This....this is just going to embolden him isn't it? *opens jacket, pulls out flask and starts drinking*

Won't deny it, I'm jelly
Same here; At this point I'm a Jelly factory...things are getting so bad, I can hear Ronald Regan asking me to tear down the wall to my private Jelly Warehouse/IllegalDespot Island

That's the problem, it IS appropriate for a completely empty darkened arena, which is why people are speculating. Change it to Circus or something more upbeat, or even Mischievous as a subtle throwback to Casino's temp music.

So what are the predictions for who Beowulf is gonna fight in his story mode?

I'm guessing Cerebella, because it's implied she's already a fan, Peacock, because it is confirmed Andy is a Beo fan, and probably Fortune, because the cat/dog puns in their conversation is probably too good to pass up.

Lab0 gets bonus points if Beo doesnt pick up on the puns

I'd also probably like for Val and Double to be a 1v2 penultimate fight, mostly to see how they react to a guy turning up at the cathedral to claim the heart. I'm not convinced the 'dragon' is supposed to be someone presently in the cast, even Eliza, but i could be wrong. Dont feel like it would be Marie either tho.

Hey so uh. I picked that music for Empty Arena because it CAN'T POSSIBLY be final music and is not at all appropriate.
Don't go reading ANYTHING into that, I don't even know what his story is! :^P
Oh. Whoops, there goes our rampant speculation hah! Still though, that track plus the empty stage would make for a nice reflection moment.

Same here, this was planned to be a trilogy right? I'd guess that the Dragon would show up after the main events of the 3rd game as Beo goes off to be a King/Champ, or it happens After the second game and leading up to the 3rd. Either way, with the variations on the referenced content Lab Zero employs (i.e. Grendel's still alive, etc) there are bound to departures to the legend. Heck, "Beowulf" could die (survive the final fight with a career ending injury, or even just walk away and permanently retire) and continue life as the man he is outside of the ring or before he first gained the title. Looooooooots of potential here.

Yeah same. I expected the 'dragon' to be that guy with the dragon armor parasite that Alex sketched, and theyde probably duke it out in SG2 or SG3, but given his inclusion now I'd be happy if Beo's story was just the beginnings of his overall arc, and end in a similar manner to Fortune's where she gained a new reason to continue fighting. Perhaps Beo is aimlessly fighting people only for the dragon to show up at the end followed by a tune-in-next-time type scene.

Btw I really like your vioces for Beowulf and Adam!

Oh yeah, the Dragon dude did look pretty cool, could be interesting to see him in action. Maybe make him mystical and from the Chess Kingdom? We need a representative from there someday heh.

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!
