Forum Problems and Feature Requests

You should be using skullheart.com for everything to begin with - skullgirls.com still works but all of the links that aren't dynamically generated will point to skullheart.com. The content is exactly the same, it just changes the cookie that your browser stores on your computer.

All the other links to the forum are for skullgirls.com. That's probably why people were logging out randomly.

The link to all the header tabs at the top (home, forum, etc.) all link to Skullgirls.com, but the banner was linking to skullheart.com, so I changed the link to the header to be skullgirls.com

For those of you experiencing problems with being logged out randomly, please update your bookmarks to ensure you are using skullheart.com instead of skullgirls.com for your links.
Which one am I actually supposed to use? I'm so confused. T_T

Vad put that up because of the previous thing I did but likely did not know the cause.

You should be able to use either, but I think the problem was that because the banner was skullheart and not skullgirls like the rest of the links, it was messing with people's cookies.

It shouldn't be a problem now.

I'm confused. I thought skullheart.com is the domain we're moving everything towards from skullgirls.com, not the other way around?
That's what I gathered from recent mod-submitted posts in this thread as well.

Now I'm confused.

Everything says Skullgirls.com for me and I've been using it this whole time.

No issues.

That's because you're probably entering the site from a link that points to skullgirls.com/forums. Update your bookmarks or whatever you use to get here.

Once you are on skullheart.com, EVERYTHING should point to skullheart.com. If people are still using skullgirls.com then the only issue will be them continually getting logged out if they click a skullheart.com link, and that's not something that we can avoid or are particularly concerned about.

I guess I should also say to everyone that we're still hosted on the skullgirls server and it's not that we're trying to break away from Lab Zero or anything, it's just that the skullheart URL makes things WAY easier for some of the backend stuff and also gets rid of the ugly /forums/ part of the old URL.

Stream scraping from Hitbox is broken currently.
My, Midimans and fensters streams are all "on the list", but none of them show up on the SH page (not even after a forced scrape)
Not sure if some update screwed this up or it's on Hitbox' side or w/e

Will look into it. Yeah, Hitbox reports which game you're playing differently to twitch. Should be fixed now.

What is this?.?
Is this due to the Mod Application thingie?
No idea - not anything I've changed.

Foums are on slow mode again.

SH Inquiry forum is set to moderated for now as we are taking mod applications at the moment.

It'll be lifted by the end of May when we will close application submissions.

There's now way to set the thread itself as moderated without removing its visibility.

I guess Vad didn't completely win the war on the spidahs in the server cabinets. On to round 2: Daddy Long Legs and Spiderminds (doom jokes? nah.. I'll leave now)

Should be fixed. Direct your pitchforks at wordpress.

I unwatched a thread and that's cool but you can't do anything appearing on the New posts for individuals that went through unwatching that thread? If you can't then its whatever.
Not quite sure what you're asking for here. Do you want the thread to stop appearing in the 'Recently active threads' block on the forum index? If so, that isn't an option.

If you're still getting notifications for a thread you've unwatched then I'd suggest also checking if you're following any of the users posting in that thread, which can also generate notifications.

Would it be possible to let us embed WebMs on the forums?

Not if people are already complaining about load times, sorry.

Alright. Thank you.

So with the new game announced I was wondering: are we allowed to post fanart of it in our personal art threads?

yeah. i'm going to stay safe and just do art of Indivisible with the cast members of Skull Girls.

I think the issue is global, but I'll include all relevant info just in case.
There appears to be a problem with the stream tab not detecting Skullgirls streams anymore.

Yesterday Mr Peck was streaming an event for 2h at his channel, today as we speak Crux and myself are streaming lobbies at our respective channels (her and mine) for almost 2h now.
Neither yesterday for all that time nor today did any of the streams appear on the SH stream tab. All channels are included in Skullheart's channel list and had/have "playing: Skullgirls" set for the stream time.

Worth noting, I asked a mod (@CaioLugon), to manually reset current streams not too long ago, but apparently the automatic scrape was mere moments before that, so the problem seems to be the tab no longer detecting relevant streams rather than never refreshing.

I still tried the manual scrape afterwards and nothing happened.

Stream tab is broken for the moment and will probably remain that way until tonight. Here's Jaxel's explanation of why:
This is a HOTFIX. If you are already running 1.1.3, you do not need to run any upgrade scripts. Just update the files.
  • With last night's Twitch service update, they broke something...
Previously, we had been using the "Prevent Embedding" privacy flag to hide streams from the live stream list. If a stream owner decided they didn't want their streams to be listed in scrapers such as XenRio, they would only need to enable the "Prevent Embedding" privacy flag from twitch, and then they would be excluded from the lists.

However, I had been complaining to Twitch for TWO YEARS about the problems with this function. While a broadcaster could enable the privacy flag, it didn't actually do anything. People could enable the privacy flag, but it didn't actually prevent anyone from embedding their streams. We respected the flag anyways however, because... you know... privacy.

However, as of last night... instead of fixing the issue; they simply deleted it. The prevent embedding flag is no longer returned on any stream scrapes by the Twitch API. God damn Twitch. I've had issues reported to them that go unfixed for years, that they sweep under the rug. I hate Twitch. Hitbox is so much better. I hope YouTube Gaming eats their lunch.

So with the new game announced I was wondering: are we allowed to post fanart of it in our personal art threads?
Go for it.

Hey not sure if it's a glitch but No streams have been appearing in the stream list is something wrong?

see: the posts above

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that. Will get on to it soon.

Streams tab should be fixed. Let me know if it's not.

Might it be possible to have some sort of indicator in the profile beside our posts of which country we come from? Like a flag in the top left corner or something. This is just to make finding people to play who you will probably have a good connection with easier.

This is probably quite difficult though so if it isn't possible then I understand. :)

We had a field in the postbit for the user's location before, but we removed it because some users requested it (I can't remember the exact reasoning).

I like the idea actually.

What about this?
Completely optional.

Yeah, that's exactly what used to be there.

Oh...
I can't think of a reason why that would offend someone but alright I guess.

I think it was a bunch of people with the attitude of "You're from region X, so you suck and I'm not going to listen to you".

If enough people want it back, it's pretty easy to put in, though.

You are able to hide your region though to avoid those conflicts, right?

I think you could just leave the field blank, yeah. But then people wanted the information there for people looking for matches, but not so visible that people can see it right next to their posts, or something like that.

I like this feature! People gotta know my city has the world's best BBQ 8)
