Street Fighter V

What language is this

Given the Cyrillic alphabet, I'm going to take a wild stab at it and say Russian.

Whoa Zangief is actually red. WHOA. Not really interested in him although I enjoyed watching him be played in USF4. This and that are different though of course.

Let's see...Birdie, Necalli, R Mika and Alex are so far the characters I'm most interested in. I can't really pinpoint why I like Birdie. As for Necalli, super saiyan sold it, but depending on how he actually plays my opinion might change. R Mika's trailer is a win for me. As for Alex, his hand in 3s looked like it had 6 fingers. Is that a pro? Idk. Weird ehhhh? Can't really decide till I see him yet though

huh, that's a cool spin on Zangief. I want to see where that goes, since I had a passing interesting grapplers.

I don't understand what the deal is with death threats against a fictional character and "wow this totally killed the hype I had for this game in any respect" but I guess I don't feel as strongly about having more content as opposed to less, no matter if i'm not interested?

The base roster is a set number, the other option wasn't less content and this firmly locks out characters some people were hoping for. If there was a game where the slot mentality made any sense, it was this.

I'm not arguing the point, I was glad we'd moved past this argument, just explaining the mentality.

I think all the hate for Mika's costume is unwarranted.
I won't say it unwarranted, but it's definitely blown out of proportion.
I was soooo glad when they removed the heart nipples (i found them too pandering), but then they put her in a thong.....
I'm a guy, hetero, and as a quasi-stereotypical black man when it comes to taste I love her buns and thighs, but I'm not gonna pretend I think that specific costume change was a good decision.

Now, if he was talking about the ruffles then he can fluff right off.
[stares intently]
[gets distracted my Mika]
What was I saying?

but then they put her in a thong.....

But Mika was always in a thong....
They gave her the heart cleavage window.

..why?
I think they generally fall into either 'too strong' or 'too weak' and they are simply not fun to play against regardless of win or lose. I mean, in thie history of SG, has anyone ever said, "Thank Christ it's a Peacock... I love fighting her."?

Moving in vs them feels as lame as playing vs an FG boss, and once you're in, it feels as lame as beating on a weaker player than you.

There are zoners done right (Parasoul), but the best ones seem to exemplify more of a hybrid model (Parasoul)... but hitting that balance is walking a fine line. I'm find with zoner-esque characters, but I wouldn't want to see anything too drastically different from a fireball shoto like Ryu.

But mostly just because they are unfun.

Which is a bit silly especially considering how the dlc model is. If people want to be mad about their character not getting in they should check out Skullgirls. [emoji14]

Translates (Roughly) to 'Play Safely', as far as I can tell.
Play Safely?

But this is Russia so it's actually Safe Play... which doesn't make sense unless you think in fighting game terms in which it actually means...

Set Play.

ZANGIEF IS GOING TO BE TOP TIER BABY~!

While I completely agree I can still understand the feeling at least, no one likes to wait, I wish Urien and Alex were in the starting roster even though I feel that Urien will at least be in eventually for story reasons if nothing else. And while you're right about the DLC model we don't know what the schedule will look like, who will actually get in or what order. So while you're completely right, I don't think disappointment is a strange reaction, though it certainly got out of hand.

Man, I can't wait to not play Zangief again.
It looks like the rest of the non-SFII and Alpha characters are going to be DLC with the exception of possibly Urien. This really is Street Fighter Alpha V (or 4 if you want to be technical).
I feel like the only reason they brought him back is becauze of Snake Eyez. Because, you know, 1 and 1/2 grapplers aren't enough.

I'm still confused why there isn't a proper zoner in this game yet...

Necalli stage confirmed
That was my immediate thought as well, but "Forgotten Waterfall" seemed like a stage for an ancient Aztec who is possessed or whatever. While the outside is bright and cheery, there is that cave off to the right.

Just have to wait and see.

Maybe they squeezed out the budget and decided to make character specific stages? This is what kanzuki state and Gief's stage indicates at least.

I am unsure what those anime/marvel "zoners" have to do with zoning in an SF game
I absolutely detest the anime/marvel "zoner" archetype, but it also has nothing in common with a Hadoken,Hadoken, wait,Shoryuken type gameplay
Guile throwing a single LP.Boom and then advancing behind it again doesn't exactly play like "huehue put 80 fireballs on screen woo fly away teleport run to other corner nowwwww"

I'm find with zoner-esque characters, but I wouldn't want to see anything too drastically different from a fireball shoto like Ryu.
As noted, naturally you won't be fighting against a Nu-13 in SF5.. Dhalsim is about as "different" as it gets

But mostly just because they are unfun.
/shrug/, Juri is one of like 5 legitimately fun characters in SF4 imo

ok, i take back about BJJ.

She looks pretty awesome.

Electricity?
IT'S FEMALE BLANKA

Ryu is clearly enjoying being in her arms.

Not sure how I feel about Boobs McGee, over here. BJJ is a practical martial art, and she's not looking so practical :/

That's how you know it's SFV.

New main? New main!

I wonder if they will go fullout on the 3Sey "fireballs don't exist", or there will be some way around those 800 fireball counters
++ If they keep them, whether there will be a zoner at all (built more around normals than fireballs then), or we just get 1/3 Rushdown 1/3 Pressure 1/3 Grapplers

I dunno, I feel like they're just making up for the fact that there's no universal focus dash though fireballs in SF5.

Personally I think people are over reacting to the whole "every character has an anti-fireball option" thing. I mean have you looked at SF4's roster? Like every character has an ex move that goes though or over or under fireballs or has a divekick or something like that on top of having Focus to deal with them.

Oh wow! She looks awesome. Favorite newcomer so far!

She got eletricity.

And her moveset is kinda unique.

Like, is not capoeira.

Is not BJJ.

And she is beautiful!

Laura is my new main.

\o\

That's true to an extent, but Akuma? Come on, he practically ruined the final in Evo2013. The only thing hype was how dope Xian played. I guess if I were to draw the line, it would be at a Rose or maaaaaybe a Sagat. Like I said, I really just don't want a Dhalsim in the game.

And how fun they are to play is not what I meant. In my experience zoners are usually fun to play but usually not fun to play against.

It's not practical to dress like a clown to a gunfight, but you can still definitely shoot someone while dressed as one.

Jiu jitsu + capoeira + thunder + big pair of charisma:

but your costume is kinda bland...

Well, women can't do bjj without a sports bra, unless they want it to be a boobs-out affair. Makoto and her sports bra followed the logic of karate competition just fine, so why not Laura?

she's fightin' the power
makin' a splash in this world that demands the squishing of boobs in a sports bra
she's making the challenge
go ahead and punch her right in the boob
she'll take it like someone that can take a punch
she's no punk
the punk is you for thinking that it would work
