Fukua General Discussion

With the new update, I will use Fukua even more.

I like this, whens console Fukua patch plz :D

Thanks for the video. From reading the description of the moves I thought the clone things would be good zoning tools but watching the video it doesn't really look like that's the case. Like what I was thinking is you could use the clones like George's Day Out but they don't stay on the screen very long at all before they become active. The new super looks pretty good though, assuming it has some invincibility I think that's something the character needed real bad.

For those that want to see some of Fukua's new moves:

Seeing that new super makes me think of Slayer. She'd only need a air downward version now (Not that she needs one)

Forever A Clone as of 4/9/2014

M has the furthest reach, then L, then H
L is the fastest, has an active hitbox from when the clone appears. Hits low and opponent will fall towards you.
M will always do the attack. On hit, opponent will launch up and towards and will recover mid air if you don't follow up.
H will fade without doing the attack if opponent is too far away. Is an overhe, will ground bounce opponent on ground, spikes airborne opponent.

This attack is really fun. I think L and M will be really good assists.

Alternating between fireball and clone looks to have potential.

Drill Super has 4f vuln preflash startup so sucks as a reversal, but after that a lot of invinc into active frames so will mostly win against air things.
Also it deals 1150 damage chip so that's kinda great.

Playing with Fukua/Filia is so much easier due to the drill super. opens up a lot more corner combos and a chance to DHC into Fenir.

And she's lookin' to have better synergy with Squigs, thanks to the new specials/Super. Haven't had time to play around with them yet.

Oh, I guess I just assumed it would have invincible startup. Sounds like a godlike anti air though.

Man, I should have waited to do anything with this character, but that video was just a spur of the moment.

You can react to which Forever A Clone she does on audio because she has a distinct "HMPH" for each one.

BAH that was supposed to be invincible. Though I like it better as a not-reversal, so it'll stay like this.

@RemiKz "supposed to"
:^) It just keeps happening...

[edit]
Drill super should be the 2nd? most-damaging Lv1 in the game, after SSJ.

Only thing is, audio isn't something you always want to rely on; what if you're put into a position where you can't hear game audio, and you've based most of your reactions to Clone on audio cues?

Like an offline setting with crowd noise.

I think you mean third, after completed Showstopper and tauntboosted SSJ.

Regular SSJ is 3800, drill is 3200. I skipped taunt boost and I ALWAYS forget about Showstopper.

Fukua is starting to remind more and more of Shadow from OMF2097. <3

Spent more time than I'm willing to admit to give this a fake Skullgirls thumbnail, but apparently Youtube's a killjoy when it comes to custom thumbnails in embedded videos.
So, lets just call it a tribute and pretend it was meant to be like that from the start.

Woh, I can't play for hours now, but this move sounds GREAT, sounds very Melty Blood. Can't wait to try Fukua with this.

Forever A Clone is just the best pun ever.

When's Friend Clone super?

We were this close to having it called 'One Must Fall In Love'. orz

That's...not as obvious...but I'll think about it.

I'm not sure suggesting new move ideas is itself a good idea at this point - Fukua's probably running out of simple and usable motions.

It would be a name for BFFs, not a new move.
And I'm not sure I want to rename it, since BFFs gets the same point across without shoehorning in Clone. I said THINK about it.

Might just be me, but I typically associate QCB motions with an attack that moves you forward and QCF with something your send forward. In that sense, maybe consider swapping the commands for the shadow and drill attacks? Can't mention how many times I input qcf+HK with Fukua thinking it was the drill early on because you use it in a similar fashion to Filia's hairball.

So something like
QCF + P = Love Dart
QCF + K = Forever a Clone
QCB + K = Platonic Drillationship
QCF + PK = Tender Embrace
QCB + PK = Inevitable Snuggle
QCF + PP = Blown Kiss
QCF + KK = Best Friends Forever
QCB + KK = The Drill of my Dreams
QCB + PP = Twice Shy
360 + PK = Head Over Heels

I associate them the other way around, though, because pretty much the only reason QCB moves you forward is shotos. I messed up BFFs allatime because I expected it to be QCB.

Just Messed around with the new update I think it's really cool how fleshed out shes become makes her feel like shes earned her spot in the roster but man is she strong. I'm not jumping on any OP bandwagon but all the characters so far have obvious gimmicks and weaknesses. Zoner, rushdown, grappler and what not, each with a couple of ways to overcome their shortcomings. But Fukua has bits and pieces of rushdown grappler and zoner in her you could argue that her maneuverability isn't that great but like sqiggly but unlike sqiggly she has mixup potential for days. All this makes her super fun to play but really frustrating to fight :P

Fukua has no meterless reversal that beats throws, no instant or even moderately-fast overheads vs standing characters, her only Lv1 super reversal that beats throws has 25f of startup, and she's very weak to being reset in the air. She has DIFFERENT weaknesses than most of the rest of the cast, but still weaknesses.

I will never get tired of people telling me how good or bad a character is in the first few days of their existence. It's what make my life worth living.

maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn fukua kinda SUCKS

nah idk anymore

I don't think you have played a halfway decent Squigly ever
This. I've mained Squigly since she first came out, and I still think she's fucking annoying in the right hands.

I feel bad for those with left hands trying to play her now
