I really wish the manga would get a bi-monthly release schedule. Chapter 50 spoilers below.

What he heck just happened there?! Not at all the ability I was expecting him to discover. Also, they get me for a moment thinking that Jean had gotten chomped in half. Also it seems this chapter represents Connie's first (team) titan kill.

well, I think the manga is bi-monthly here. I am probably wrong though.

BTW, the Best Friends Zaibatsu actually brought up a good point.

I mean, it has been referrenced in around 2-3 animes (I dont know if 2 of these referrences are from the same anime or not). its super popular and successful, and it certainly isn't losing ANY steam amongst the fans.

Considering the fact that the 1st Season ended and that this is an Attack on Titan specific thread, are we still worrying about spoilers or can we finally talk freely? I mean I understand watching what I say in other places, but anyone coming into this thread would know that there are spoilers.

you can tell shit that happened thats pretty much known by mostly everyone, but no latter spoilers from the anime and no manga spoilers. that seems fair right?

I mean, it you don't know by know about titan eren, you must under a titan rock...... or a woolie hole.

That part got me too because the art quality was so bad. I don't know what was happening. The new power is pretty cool and stupid at a same time. I would look forward how the plot goes with it. Dang it Ymir after all that you still refuse to return back.
 
A second season is guaranteed, but I care less about if, and more of when. I like the series but I will probably forget about it in a year.

You know, Funi picked up the series and they plan on releasing the dub in 2014, so the dub could help hold the fans over until second season is confirmed (which it is) and has a date.
 
They got death note before so I can still believe
 
I just watched episodes 14-22 of Attack on Titan. Until challenged this is officially my favorite Anime.
Once I finish the 1st Season I will start reading the Manga, which is something I never do. I have 3 more episode left, and although I already spoiled a lot for myself I'm very excited to watch them.
However, I have to sleep so I'll leave with this question.

I would go the Garrison. But I would try to keep in contact with the Survey Corps so I'm better than the Bitch Brigade Military Police should I ever encounter my first titan, and I would also work out constantly and just get to and fro with my maneuver gear so I can get full use in emergencies and can get around on memory alone. I give mad props to the Survey/Scouting/Recon Corps, though.
 
Right before I left for my recent trip I watched the last 3 episodes of Attack on Titan, which I had been putting off for a while now. I'm going to be unabashedly biased when I say this. This is the best anime I've ever seen, everyone should watch it, and those who don't like it have something fundamentally wrong with them.
(I hope everyone realizes that I'm comedically exaggerating...)
On to the manga.

By now I should probably answer my own question.
I would join the Survey Corps. I don't want to die, but life is not worth living inside the cages that they call walls.
If I have the power to make a difference, then I owe it to humanity, no I owe it to myself to do so.

Plus they wear hooded capes, which I think are the coolest things ever.
 
It's safe to say nobody would want to join the bitch brigade.

Survey Corps.

Finally watched the show over the last 3 days. I had no idea what I was in for. Kept hearing that the show was amazing but no one ever explained what it was about. They just told me to watch it lol. I should have listened!^^;

Honestly, I think its safe to say all of us who like AoT would either go for Survey or Garrison, the latter btw should not be deemed as something to be ashamed of.

The sad thing is, most Garrison Soldiers in Attack on Titan if given the chance would probably choose the Military Police. They chose the Garrison over the Survey Corps for the same reason that the Top Ten of every Trainee Squad usually choose the Military Police over the other two Military Divisions. So that they can survive.

Only we, with our outside and informed perspective on things would make the decision of joining the Garrison over the Military Police. I'm assuming that the users here that choose the Garrison have a strong desire to live, but they also don't want to be dishonored as cowards in the Military Police, which is very respectable if given the choice of all three Military Divisions. I wonder though, if they would make the same decision if the situation were real. I'm no hypocrite though, the same could be said of us users that say we would choose the Survey Corps.

So all that we can really do is say what we believe in and believe in what we say.
 
I also like to think that the survey corps is humanity's sword, and the garrison is it's shield. both are quintessential to humanity's advancements.

I just don't think garrison should immediately be considered a step down from survey corps.

I absolutely agree, Humanity needs both it's Shield and Sword in it's fight for Freedom. However there are currently 20,000-30,000 Garrison soldiers, while there are only 200-300 Survey Corps soldiers. Ideally soldiers would choose a Military Division based on Humanity's needs, but clearly this isn't the case.

People consider the Garrison a step down because the soldiers aren't joining it for the right reasons.

I'm actually torn between the two. Abridg'd Comedy's take is consistently hilarious, but it's too short and hasn't updated in forever. Team Four Star's take is fresh, longer, and has some really runny moments, but sometimes it falls short. I'm leaning towards Team Four Star right now because of their reputation and the drill sergeant scene, but it would be awesome if the two teamed up.

but I can understand why it takes so long for them to make an episode. lots of people, other projects, life stuff. at least they give us little bits and bites to keep us interested.
 
And just this morning I saw abridg'd comedy uploaded a new episode. Still say these guys are doing better than teamfourstar.

CLEARLY they captured the beauty of Mikasa.
Also Armin is still the best character. shut up if you disagree.

I would say who Ilse is, but its kind of a spoiler. its just one of those things that make you remember AoT can go to breaking bad levels of feel bad. thats all I'm gonna say.
I am probably blowing it out of proportions but who knows

The more Attack on Titan the better I say, this show is just fucking fantastic.
I don't think your blowing anything out of proportion. I've cared more about the death of this background character than I have about every character in Puella Magi Madoka Magica combined. I'd say you're under-exaggerating it.

indeed it is, but if the OVA goes into more detail on Ilse's notebook.... expect the good kind of bad feels.

and just to add to it, HOW IS IT THAT THIS SERIES HAS NO POORLY WRITTEN CHARACTERS!

I mean, even fucking Hitch isnt badly written! I want more of this! Fuck strong female characters, I want REAL female characters. strong and weak be damned. just give us characters with character!
