It had a second, third, fourth. By a rough estimate this was its fifth chance.
exactly. maybe they will (hopefully) do that in the future when they decide to come back to the project :)To be fair, you CAN have two chars that form up your demo to show the game off. But the way they went around it was all wrong. You want to focus on one char, have then as done as possible, and maybe a second char, or twist on the first, like with what I hear Mike kinda did with Filia in the early days? Show off what other chars could play like, but don't put so much effort into them that you have to detract from finishing everything else first!
Nope.
Facts have a liberal bias, Mike. I keep on trying to say things about this scam, but there's no way I can describe it without seeming insulting because there was nothing good about any of it.
precisely! Like I said this game, if steered into the right direction, deserves a second. Mainly because it has potential to be a great fighting game. They said publishers are looking into them, right? Well. I hope they let themselves get picked up (As opposed to trying a sixth fundraising campaign... god forbid...). Maybe with a clear cut budget for what they can and can't afford will help them focus on what's important? Maybe drop x-rays and character specific attacks?
I would definitely play the finished product, what ever it may end up being. I just hope after all the effort and money that people have put in, both fans and devs, that it wasn't all for literally nothing.
What specifically shows "potential to be a great fighting game?"
What pure intent can possibly be sitting behind making a flexible funding campaign?
I am also curious where you got that impression, beyond "I think the characters look cool". The developers have systematically ignored most suggestions about how to improve the actual game part, and the demo they made is not...great...
You can play as a shark
a LOAN shark. IT'S FUNNY CAUSE IT'S WORD PLAY. AH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH~!
heh, no Annie would have improved it by 100 fold. And she's the worst dlc character ever. ( sorry DDB, i still love you and your unhealthy fan love for Annie )
I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd absolutely love to see more great FGs appear, and will personally support the ones that seem to have that potential. But like with anything that doesn't mean saying that things are fine when they aren't, and being asked/guilted/whetever into pretending that they are is a big red flag.
aye... in the end i just want to help dev groups out. by pointing them to Mike Z and he did to make SG super awesome.I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd absolutely love to see more great FGs appear, and will personally support the ones that seem to have that potential. But like with anything that doesn't mean saying that things are fine when they aren't, and being asked/guilted/whetever into pretending that they are is a big red flag.
sure, but who says they can't learn from their mistakes. If anything beasts fury can be a prime example on how to make better decisions when it comes to managing money for the game. Like I said in the previous post they just need to be steered in the right direction.
You didn't actually answer Broken Loose's question
hard work put into the game that meets the demands of fans via it be graphics, inputs, character design, etc. Pretty much like skullgirls and Street fighter V
You are being optimistic to the extent of ignoring reality, and I don't understand it.
you're right about that, of course you would be you are the famous mike Z. But what leads me to be so optimistic about the game is that what leads many people optimistic about a a cool concept from a fighting game. All this is in my opinion but since I fell in love with the concept I really wanted the project to to succeed. Call me a fanboy if you will. I do acknowledge that they have made foolish mistakes that (possibly could have) killed the game for good, but again me being a fanboy only makes me want these guys to get there heads on straight and fix the game. Again all of this is just my opinion. You are being optimistic to the extent of ignoring reality, and I don't understand it.
This is the 5th time they asked people for money, each time promising more and more things that were unrealistic, and delivering less.
They worked for some years on a publicly released demo which has fairly obvious large problems, and ignored most feedback about it, deciding instead to work on animated finishers.
They were super defensive when asked basic questions like "Where did your money go?"/"How can you pay your team?"/"Why is X thing broken in the demo?"
At this point it's THEM saying they can't learn from their mistakes.
This is not an overly negative viewpoint, these are all facts.
They do not properly budget or scope, they did not properly prioritize what must be done, and what they delivered was extremely lackluster and poorly constructed.
So, what leads you to the optimism?
uuhh...if you say so buddy.
The thing is Bethesda games actually come out and they are good.
