Oh I hope not. I hope it's an interesting retelling of the poem Beowulf and I also hope Beowulf will be a bookworm for the sake of inspiring people to read more.
Top one is Richard Suh as the maid, the head of clean-up (get it?). Bottom is Brian Jun, the Associate Art Producer.

I came across this post while browsing the thread for the cleaned up beowulf frame, would anyone happen to have a screen capture of it?

Good, adding hitboxes is always a good sign.

Well the mystery is about the chair, I hope it can add some original gameplay like we saw in the description, I hope the chair doesn't end as Captain America Shield's and that's all about it.

we know at the very least Beo's subverting the norm by having better normals without the chair.

I still think that's so awesome. Not only is it a subtle nod to the ancient legend of Beowulf, but it's also good for me 'cause I fight better as Fortune headless.

Keep doubting the knights capability to slay the dragon, it just makes his victory even sweeter.

Eliza's story may have been packed with history and lore, but Beowulf will entertain you in a very different manner. His story will be the one that sets your heart on fire, that changes how you look at the world Alex Ahad had created. Beowulf is the last one left, you're fooling yourself if you think it won't go out with a bang.

Yeah but I wasn't thinking about her 'cause she's more of a character than Fukua, but less of one than everyone else.
 
I think she is just as important to the lore as beowulf

Plus did you ever consider the possibility that Beowulf could create his own lore? Like you don't need to have an existing relationship with the other characters to do something important. Come on, think outside of your box.

Maybe Beowulf will adopt Marie as his daughter and then she will suplex Eliza in the ending.

Robo-Fortune will rip of the brains of the cast to get a soul for herself.

How she started out doesn't matter. What matters is how she ends up, which is up in the air. Big Band was a throwaway design made to be background scenery for Lab 8. Look where he is now!

Keep in mind that they have several tens of thousands of dollars solely dedicated to making Robo-Fortune's story mode.

You just don't understand how amazing Beowulf's gonna be in gameplay. Don't underestimate the furfag

What I love about the gameplay is the how the character quirks and idiosyncrasies are built directly into their fighting style. I fail to see how in any way that Beowulf, who strikes me as little more than a Hulk Hogan expy, is going to live up to that. I'm not saying it can't be done, I just express doubt towards it. If he does end up feeling crappy and out of place, we have no one but the people who voted for him to blame. Although LZ should have realized that if you let teh intrawebz decide things for you, 99% of the time they will pick the stupidest option. Eliza might be a wonderful exception to that rule, but Beowulf is about as out of place in this game as Sammy Davis Jr. at a KKK rally.

I won't even address that other rambling nonsense.

Might as well just shop Mike Haggar into the game. Seriously.

Huh...here I thought you were joking at first about Beowulf, different strokes for different folks I guess...I mean have you at least looked at his development? You're saying you doubt his quirks and idiosyncrasies, but Lab Zero doesn't halfass anything. Already they're putting some rather unique spins on the old grappler style and making him look to have some darn fancy and unique properties. You don't have to like the character, but don't write off the team so early and drastically....also the Sammy David Jr. at a KKK rally thing? Really?...Come on dude.

Allowing the playerbase to decide on the DLC characters was never about "they'll make a better choice than us". It was about attracting interest and in consequence funds. Better to give voting powers to backers and have two characters of their choice than not have a vote and not gather money to do any characters anyway.

Side note, I'm surprised anyone still doubts Lab Zero's skill at making interesting characters.

I find it kind of irritating when people underestimate LabZero. Saying Beowulf is a boring no-brain-only-muscles character is as mature as saying Valentine is a sex object with no personality. His story may still contain interesting Lore material, maybe getting the canon story be seen from a third person could give a new, fresh perspective.
This is a videogame, a fighting videogame, not a visual novel. Gameplay comes first. If you are so uninterested and ignorant on gameplay you can only blame yourself. Not the character or the fans who chose him.

I don't doubt them and I do hope that they'll surprise me by making him an enjoyable character. I just see an uphill battle achieving that.
