Blazblue

What I wanna know: If we purchased DLC, namely color and Noel's Alt costume, cause I'm an idiot, do those transfer to CPE? Or do I have to buy those again? Cause if thye don't transfer screw this.

Also, what's the difference between Lambda and Mu? As far as I know, those two were THE EXACT SAME in CS, even using the same sprite. Unless I'm wrong, how are they different?

Nu, Mu, gah, too similar.

the difference is that Lambda is a cute and precious angel and Nu is a piece of shit trash
but dat eye patch?

Lambda's drive works slightly differently (she has to throw both swords every time she presses D) and Lambda loses Nu's DP but gains a new air-to-ground projectile. After that it's just a bunch of frame data and move property differences.

They're supposed to play differently, but I believe the consensus in Japan right now is just that Lambda's a worse Nu.

Well Nu in CP had 2 "stances" one where she played more like Nu from CT and one where she played more like Lambda from CS (not 100% sure if I'm saying it right, I didn't play CP yet). Now in CPEX Nu will have one stance and Lambda the other one.

I was wondering how Nu was going to work with Lambda in the game. Also, so far it is just known that all the DLC from the original release will be in this game too but no confirmation if your purchased DLC will carry over. I really hope it does though

also have a trailer:

so basically, all DLC will already unlocked or unlockable, so it doesn't really matter. I know none of my purchases meant jack squat in CS when going to CP, nor did any in P4 mean anything in P4U. Q_Q

Here's crossing my fingers that if they can make some wierd excuse for Lambda to be back Jubei will be playable later in the series.

I still think Jubei will never be playable.

Ragna told him to show what his sword did in the next game. That could very much be a story thing, because they've said multiple times that Jubei is too short to be playable. (I did a size comparison thing in this thread many pages back. Dude is too short).

the dlc colors would be automatically unlocked in Ultimax if you bought them in Arena.

and navigators and glasses.

I had the Ultimate Edition, so said DLC was included on disc for me. Probably why I didn't get said bonuses :/

I also remember Jubei saying something like "Maybe it will be time for me to step into the spotlight soon" (didn't watch it for a long time) and the short thing shouldn't be a problem if for example he holds his sword high and it's a part of the hurtbox.

Can't be as bad as Servbot in MVC2. :P

So long as he isn't as ridiculous as Yoda, I think they can make it work.

I'm not sure. Carl and Rachel went through redesigns because they were originally too small. They seem adamant on hurtboxes being least a certain size.

And umbrella shaped minions.

In some aspects, Rachel still is too small :3

She's bigger than Carl, no?

EDIT: Oh, I see what you're saying. Goddammit lol.

This is true? I get the feeling my horrible joke was ignored, though it was probably for the best. Rachel is best girl :D

I remember seeing some sort of little detail somewhere in the story hinting he would be playable. That's probably it.
I really, really, like Jubei as a character. And yeah, it'd be relatively easy to make his height not that much of a problem.
Also, here's something I was wondering: is Jubei actually the height of a cat on its hind legs? I don't feel like finding some kind of comparison considering how lazy I am. I know he's based off of a nekomata, If I'm correct, but is he really that small?

Frankly, as much as I'd like him playable in the game, I don't think it is really likely. They seemed to kind of go out of their way to remove him from the story, and I don't really see how they'd bring him back.
But hey, if they can bring Lambda back, I suppose anything's possible.

Also, I really hope they don't go through with
Hazama dying. Considering he's my favorite character in the series, it'd be a huge disappointment to me if he died. Especially considering Platinum "killed" him. That isn't exactly a dignified death when the kawaii anime girl kills you. Adding to that, I also hope Platinum stays in the next game. I don't find her playstyle very interesting, and I really, really dislike her character, but it must really be annoying when the character you use is removed, and you need to switch to someone else.

hazama deserved exactly what he got due to how he was
he would have wanted something more
something grander
but nah
he gets shit on like a bitch
just he like he deserved

Yeah... You've got a point there.

He can be ousted from the story, but still be playable. It's happened before. Hazama's my main, so I'd hate to see him go, but I hate him as a character and want him o die so bad

Call me a tool, but I couldn't bring myself to play a character I absolutely hated. Exact reason why I avoid giving in and playing Noel. Can we please just agree on how horrible Noel is?
I'd find it weird though if he was dead story-wise but still playable. I wouldn't exactly say Blazblue is a story-oriented fighting game but it definitely has a very deep lore. We've got all of the novels, the anime... It'd just be weird.
They took the time to add Terumi as DLC, I doubt they'll snip him either.
Exactly. It seems kind of odd to me that a character might be completely removed. Look at Nu; they replaced her with Lambda right away, just an updated clone. That is abandoning a lot of players who main Hazama, Terumi, and Platinum.
I don't see how they're going to dig Terumi out of the ditch, though, considering he has been erased from time. That's kind of hard to ignore.

but I used to main Noel...

This is how tall he is. It's a problem.

I'm reminded of Yoda from Soul Calibur IV. Little bugger was impossible to hit with horizontal slashes and he'd just dive everywhere. Had to use shortened combo chains and very specific moves, otherwise they'd whiff. It was a huge problem early on in the games life.

Jubei is 123 cm tall aka 4 feet 1 inch. Not a surprise for me since I saw a pic from prequel mangas where he was shown next to Ragna and he also appears in Tao's Astral Heat.

I still say, make him hold his sword upwards (maybe over his shoulder supported with his paw since in battle he seems to mainly hold it in his teeth or something). Problem solved.

You're dead to me.

So he's pretty tall compared to what I imagined.
Yes, though; they can do some shenanigans to make him a good size. Frankly, I wouldn't be mad it they redesigned his outfit somewhat to make him a little taller.
If he just held it on his shoulder it would be perfect. It'd make his hitbox a perfect height.

Though, what happens in his attacking animation? If he's just holding it, it sounds like he'd be pretty small when he ends up using the sword.
They might need to move the sheath up slightly to make up for it, unless he swings diagonally upwards, to hit his tall opponents, and his hitbox can extend somewhat up.
I'm reminded of Yoda from Soul Calibur IV.
I never liked Soul Calibur, but I have to ask. Why is Yoda in the game? A Japanese fighting game?

Jubei has useless cat paws and has to hold a sword with his mouth. How is it going to stick up without it looking weird?

Pressing the sword against shoulder with a paw, for it to have an at least sort of upward possition wouldn't be that hard, I imagine.

EDIT: Also Tao doesn't seem to have a problem holding things with HER paws. :P

I don't remember the exact reason but similar to how they made Soul Calibur 2 had Spawn Link and Heihachi as exclusive characters per system, they did the same for Yoda on 360 and Vader on PS3. Think it might have been around the time Episode III came out explaining why they were in it. Pure promotional BS.

It was more to promote Force Unleashed 2 as well as a few other star wars things at the time,I think

If you want an accurate picture of how puny Jubei is, here is a screenshot from CT
