Help Advertise Indivisible!

We don't even need to see 1.5mil as our goal, we just need enough where those people on the fence start supporting with the intent to get it funded last-minute basically.
Good point actually. Gotta get over the high funding hump, and a large amount should fall in after.
I feel a good psychological point would be the 1million.

Also, I hope y'all are spamming news sites again with the Linux prototype announcement! :D Even sites that already posted news might run it again with the Linux news.

I'll be throwing around motivational anime quotes in all-caps once we get to that point.
I swear, if you start quoting kid Naruto, I will personally hunt you down and stab you.

Okay, so based on Cynical Brit's video a few pages back, I think I have an idea who to better target.

Specifically, people who've reviewed or Let's Played:
  • Super Metroid
  • Strider
  • Rayman (esp Legends/Origins)- similar exploration gameplay and charm
  • Kirby, particularly Amazing Mirror
  • Prince of Persia
  • Valkyrie Profile
  • Chrono Trigger?
Youtubers already contacted (from the Media Coverage Index):
  • EWNetwork
  • Etika
  • PaperBatVG
I have some other stuff I need to work on, but I'll update if I find anyone promising.

PBat has already started a video series on it.

I haven't watched a lot of their content, but BrainScratch Commentaries might be worth looking into. They've done a good amount of Metroid and Kirby stuff. SomecallmeJohnny is a member of that group, and on top of being a Metroid fan, he also reviewed Skullgirls on his channel.

Well the PPP talked about it
to be perfectly honest Pan didn't really put Sg in the best of light and his friends were either "meh" or "It's stupid" sooooooo yeah they mention it by name but they don't really advertise it or show any true support for it.

Well the PPP talked about it
"Yeah there's this girl who jumps and attacks and there are monsters she can fight with a team but she has an axe and jumps on walls"

And Ken called it stupid and dumb. Great support

What about ManlyBadassHero? Not exactly your 1,000,000 subscribers youtuber, but has played some of the latest indie RPG games (LISA and Undertale), other horror games and might be a great help to our cause. I sent him a message, but maybe some messages from other people will do the trick. Also, any way to get support from the heavy youtubers? You know, Pewds, Markiplier... not sure if you hate them, but right now Lab Zero NEEDS any kind of support.

those guys require payment to play a game.

This is kinda BS (i mean, pewdiepie at least)

besides the heavy weights of youtube run their channels like a business. If a video isn't getting the views or the likes that they want they are not going to play the game in that video any more. And I hate to say this but in the eyes of Pew or Mark playing Indivisible and making a video about is a financial risk because if it flops then they have to make another video for that month to make up the lost potential money they could have got.

It was just a suggestion. I'm worried they won't make it. I mean, I'm tracking the campaign's progress and it's been slow compared to other projects like Bloodstained and Mighty N°9.

Kjellberg and Fischbach play characters that serve extremely young audiences, the kind of 6-18 yr old kids that love Minecraft and FNAF. Even if they played Indivisible in one of their videos, I just don't think it would attract the kind of added support some people think it might.

I mean, come on. Do you really think Pewdiepie is gonna talk about the in-depth combat and what it could mean for the full game, or that Markiplier might get into the Buddhist influences on the lore? Nah. They're shrewd, youth-oriented hucksters, and Indivisible is a poor match for that.

While this isn't wrong we can't really afford to be picky right now with who covers the game. If someone big like Pewdiepie (and I'm not saying this should even happen, I'm using this as an example) were to cover the game, other people might follow suit and think "this must be popular if Pewdiepie is covering it and people know about it, so I should cover it too". Right now we just need to get the game to as big of an audience as possible, despite if that audience is actually high quality or not. Yes, they might not be able to donate to the campaign, but the game having an audience encourages other people to cover it.

Any exposure is good, obviously.
Do you play SkullGirls?

Pan Pizza: "I- uh, masturbate to SkullGirls..."

Yeah any exposure is good, sure.

I'm a firm believer in the concept of, "any publicity if good publicity."
The Economist said:
In a study published in Marketing Science*, he found that well-known authors who earned glowing reviews for a new book could expect to sell 42% more copies, whereas a negative review caused sales to drop by 15%. For unknown authors, however, it did not matter whether a book was panned or lauded. Simply being reviewed in the Times bumped up sales by a third.

Which is why we have Miley Cyrus, these guys know what they're doing.

edit: Not to compare Indivisible to Miley Cyrus, of course.

I've heard that zone-tan made people get into SG with some flash animations and such.

We can guess what makes other people curious, but we can't know, we only know what works for us.

There were a lot of situations, where i presented something to a friend (a game, or a cartoon), and he was like: nah, not interested, but some other source made that friend start to watch said thing, and he liked it.

Maybe the indiegogo page, maybe the video, is not enough to someone, but a video of a low % speedrun will bring interest.

Maybe in some rule 34 site, someone see and think: "who is this character", and then, learn about that stuff.

I honestly think that we shouldn't be aware about who is spreading the word about the game, but how many people is doing that.

I would watch DSP rage for 3 hours in the prototype if that helped indivisible to get funded.

well, y'know, I mean there are those parasites y'know, just putting that out there

Zone could be a good idea if they're interested in making... well that.

Maybe AngryJoe? He played Skullgirls when it came out.

Last time I check "Zone" was working on Indivisible him/her/itself. I don't think they have time to put down what they're doing and say "I gotta make Indivisible porn stat!" even then I think those animations take awhile to make.
I should...I count the days...

i'm just giving examples that any publicity is good.

I know that zone-tan worked on the prototype.

I feel like we missed a video with the team involved. Either voice overs or actually footage.

Kickstarters move a lot of human emotions, there's a cheering for those people's success, supporting others' dreams, component to it. And without a good grasp of the team (working, talking about the project, the costs, the challenges, etc.) we lose a lot of the humanitary supporters, people who might not even play but will say "hey, I like these folks, I hope they make it, gonna help 'em a bit" or "Oh my, I'll totally support that Render hottie, I mean, just LOOK at THOSE eyes." etc. So a good one might net more support than even the gameplay video, spread something like that around.

/2 cents

Yeah, I noticed the lack of voiceovers too in the IGG video.

I'd do it for free. I'm dead serious. I already donated and daily spread the word through FB and tweets, I'm wanting to do something else like team up with some people narrate the lore, put some art assets in a video and throw some after effects stuff around and ship that around to get people talking and go "ooh, what's this series?". I'm no bigshot, but I'm willing to throw my hat in the hype building machine.

It's happening - I saw a tweet by render a while ago asking for someone to help out with the video.

I think we should consider mentioning that Invisible being funded would also mean a future for Skullgirls.

I know this is a rather, dumb thing to say. But I feel that Indivisible might need some sort of catch to draw in more supporters. And if we think about it, in a really, really specific way, Lab Zero did say prior to this campaign that they we're not done with skullgirls, but this is them "taking a break" or "trying something else." But once this campaign started it changed to "This is a do or die." Put one and two together both statements are true if indivisible is funded, and if its not the chances of a second skullgirls goes down the drain. I just thought it would be worth mentioning when we try to sell it to people who care more about SG then LO.

I'm not sure. It is important but how can you say it without making it sound like "fund it or you're not going to see SG2"? It could hurt the campaign in that sense.

A crowdfunding should be exciting and interesting, not threatening. I know this situation is worrying but we need to be careful with stuff like this.

I know, I don't want it to sound wrong, but I think it is important to let people know if they want more skullgirls, even if it's in many years, this is the way to do it.

if I had the ability too, I'd so VO a video... People's told me I have a powerful voice.

edit: I mean, I can still record audio as I got those tools (and my mic), but I don't have much in the way of video editing..

If you actually want to make a video for Indivisible like I did and need editing I can do for you, you'd just need to send me all the raw files.

I have video editing tools, but they're locked away on my Desktop, which is dead =_= and I can't send any simple "raw" video file lol 3+gigs over a 15kb/s cellphone tether is about a week of sending. and even if I made a video, it'd be a laggy mess due to this shitty laptop..

well tell us what you want over a pm and from there you can work things out on posting the vid.

I'm actually thinking of making a video, but it will be in Spanish. Sadly, I don't really have lots of recording equipment. Any suggestions?
