Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

that's the spirit
it's all how you use your imagination

there's a dude whose stand is named Limp Bizkit
the power? INVISIBLE ZOMBIES
Shut the fuck up, that's ridiculous!

Fine, I'm clicking on that link again and the first thing that comes up will be my new stand and I'll use my vast imagination to make it cool. Then everyone will be like, "Oh shit Zen that stand is so cool, you're such a big dick G."

Mine results:

1st try: Fell In Love With A Girl
2nd try: Walking On Thin Ice (A YOKO ONO SONG???)
3rd try: The Monochrome Set

Why couldn't I get something like Ace Of Spades, Nightrain or Steve Stevens' "Atomic Playboys"?

OK I clicked it and I got.... The Monochrome Set, an English new wave band.

Give me some time, I'll make this cool.

Hey, something like inducing colorblindness can be very effective in the right situation

I got Sugarcubes too, since zen didn't want it, I'mma use it.

The stand lets me advance a relationship to it's endpoint instantly, sweeten the feelings if you will. To simplify what it does, if I can gain someones trust over time, then it skips all the trust building excersies. Of course for it to even be beneficial it'd have to be at least somewhat aware of what the target's emotions will be like at said end point, so there's also that.

Welp, going to use my stand to sell used cars.

Stop reading my mind and let me do my own fucking thing.

I got Countdown, by Rush.

Power: The Stand starts a countdown starting from T-minus 10, and if it can reach Lift Off, I can then induce an area within a set radius to gravity manipulation. Imagine being able to slow down the acceleration of myself to nullify or reduce fall damage, make falling objects' airtime stall to prevent them crashing into me, having extra gravity for myself to keep from being launched into the air, making liquids like water and even lava float around and possibly direct it towards opponents or even make all raindrops during a storm crash down on the ground with the force of a cannon shot.

I got "Save a Prayer"
I imagine it would be like Netero's power in HunterXHunter. I'm okay with this.
Netero's_Guanyin_Bodhisattva.png
Although I'm currently listening to the actual song and it's pretty typical 80's techno-rock vomit.

First attempt: 20th Century Boy
Second Attempt: Sunday Girl
Third Attempt: Panic
I'll figure something out with one of them, as well as post a stand name and idea I had for when you were all making your own much earlier in the thread.

First attempt: 1972 (obviously ain't gonna work)
Second attempt: NoMeansNo
I'm fine with that
Probably has the ability to cancel out an ability or deny something from happening

I finished Battle Tendency, and it was amazing. an amazing fucking brutal ending for Karz, and I fucking love Von Stronheim.

the only character I will say "my favorite one is the Nazi cyborg."

can't wait for Stardust Crusaders to end so I can Marathon that.

or at the very least know when a specific spoiler thing happens.

V the spoiler V
when Iggy dies. I saw how it went down in the original anime out of curiosity and my dog lover self can't go through it again.

the OVA changed that to be more brutal
it's more heroic and shit in the manga/eventual adaptation

Fuckkkkkk, I thought that spoiler would be a part 2/1 spoiler.

"You know for a Nazi he's a pretty cool guy."

Everyone's reaction to Stroheim.

so, JoJo's gave us an extremely likable Nazi. Awesome.

My favorite thing about Stroheim is how his VA screams everything and rolls his Bs
motherfucker ROLLS HIS Bs

B-B-B-B-B-B-B-BAKAMONO GA

Real talk though, Jonathan's a fucking beast. He's lifting solid rock the size of a soccer ball with an outstretched arm. I would struggle to do that but to him it's like it ain't a thing.

okay, for my 2nd try: Modern Eon

and 3rd is: Indestructible (Disturbed Album)

so much potential with these!

EDIT:

gotta show some more love for our favorite cyborg Nazi

okay, sorry for double post, but I feel like I gotta ask this:

does anyone else feel the new JoJo's is super fast paced and it's extremely better for constantly having things going on?

You mean Part 3? If so, yea, it's like always moving forward (since they are) and bringing you cool fights in the middle. It's like they train on the road.

no, I mean, just like parts 1 and part 2 as well.

like, I felt like I got 3 episodes worth of plot in the first episode, and when it ended I was like "wait, that was the FIRST episode?"

Funny you should say that because they're going at a slower pace than the first season, and adding some filler, which I'm completely fine with.

Oh yeah, compared to Part 3 onwards, Part 1 and 2 are very quick and short, so everything happens really fast. The anime actually covered everything that was important in these two parts, only minor things were left out IIRC.

the latter 2 could probably be like

Walking On Thin Ice:
you make the battlefield a super death trap where the opponent has to constantly move and they cant walk on a space thats already been touched or else they're frozen.

Monochrome Set:
two stands that can function as one, but the upper white half is super strong, and lower black half is super fast, making them a deadly combination.

Its a very simple reason and we should bring up Dragon Ball Z & One Piece for my examples.
Unlike Dragon Ball Z & One Piece, the anime is not running concurrently with the manga (if we count each separate part of JoJo's as a series). With anime's covering ongoing manga's they have to both slow things down & sometimes kill time with filler episodes in order to not outrun the manga. As the first seven parts of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure are completed, they have no reason to feel pressured to pad things out until Jojolion, given if they both continue the anime that far and Jojolion is still ongoing by that point of course.

The only reason they would have to pad things out right now is if they want to milk it. I wouldn't be entirely shocked if they are going to milk Stardust Crusaders due to its popularity and give it like a 50 episode run while every other part ends up with a 30 episode run.

You ever make that Stand, Zen? I'm pretty interested in what you come up with.
I have some good ideas for a stand ability, but right now I'm working on a college presentation, I can't be bothered with it until tomorrow. For now let's just say it involves optical illusions and messing with the opponent's vision.

then every anime thats been based on a manga should not be started until it's source material is completely finished.

"but the mangaka wants to make 800 chapters"

they can fucking deal with it then.

jojo's isn't ending any times soon
should they cancel the anime

I still will wait till I at least know the episode and the point in the episode it happens.

like, I just skipped the one part in part one where Danny dies, because again, I fucking hate when dogs just get wrecked in any form of source material where they can't really fight back because they don't know any better or can't fight back, and Danny kinda falls into both and regardless of whether you see his death or not (I certainly am not gonna go back to check if they show the burning body or not) I still don't like it.

oh shit, my fist is in my mouth and I don't like the taste.

I say just stop, because each arc can be it's own story, and they can just as easily pick it back up after Araki finishes another part. I just hate an overabundance of filler and adding in shit I don't care about.

like, Brotherhood is infinitely better than FMA original and the former had no reason to add in stuff I don't care about.

I agree to a point, but doing that can run the risk of the audience losing interest and the anime company missing out on riding that gravy train while its hot. Not to mention the anime can serve as a advertisement to the manga.

Dragonball Z actually got the special edition anime where they streamlined it to omit all the filler they added, I watched a bit and the pacing improved greatly. I wish other anime adaptations would go back and do that to make it more faithful.

There is some anime original content that is author-approved, however.
All the Strawhat Separation arc expansion stuff in One Piece was all stuff Oda wanted it, but had to cut because his editors were up his ass.

Even 2003 FMA anime was approved by Hiromu Arakawa. She thought the direction it went in was very interesting and different from her own ideas.
