Killer Instinct - Series in General

I think a KI Season 4 might actually depend on how SFV does. If Microsoft sees the SF players and viewership grow significantly with the patches, but the KI scene is also growing at relatively the same rate, they might consider it worthwhile it to invest in one more year. If KI's the ticket to bring more new people to Windows 10, the Microsoft Store, and/or buy up these final stacks of XBones, I'm sure they're all about it.

I definitely don't see them going any further than a S4 though. Who knows what stake Microsoft will want to have in game development by that point anyway.
 
Also, does anyone know how purchasing KI will work on PC? Will it just without a game manager (lord... I barely remember those days), or is there a successor to GFWL? I haven't really bought a game from Microsoft since SFIV...
 
From what I gathered it's a "Windows Store" exclusive. It's sounds like a GFWL successor, with how it's supposed to be connected with Xbox Live and such stuff.
 
So wait the $50 pack won't have retro costumes?

Can you buy them separately? I need my rainbow rash man
 
The 50 dollar pack will have all the costumes. It's got all the ultra pack content. Well, except KI classic and KI 2 classic. That's XBone only, hence why the PC version is 50 bucks and the XBone one 60: it comes with those two classic games.

Got my pretty computer in November, sadly though, don't feel like updating to Windows 10, I'd say that's a weakness.
Oh well, doesn't really matter. I hope KI does successfully on the PC
 
The only problem this PC has (Has the RAM, processor, etc. needed; Heck it's got over what I need, with 3.2 GHz and 12GB of dedotated wam) that makes me afraid it won't run Killer Instinct is that it's got Integrated Graphics; Which some of my friends are saying could run it, while others say it's not likely.

However, I also have a friend willing to give me a GTX 550 TI, but even then I'm not sure if THAT will work because it's under what KI requires.

The nice thing about PCs is that you can ultimately upgrade into what you need. Check tigerdirect and newegg for refurbished models and major sales. Also, keep in mind that just because a model is older doesn't make it less good (necessarily). You can find last years models for much cheaper than current models and still pick up something beefcake.

Here is a GPU hierarchy that will provide an at-a-glance type comparison to help.

Yep, my exact fear realized. unfortunately, I can't get a graphics card anytime soon, as the PC itself is the most my mother could buy. Dammit. Still gonna buy KI though, for whenever I do get one.

Still not sure if the 550 will help or not...
 
I just don't wanna upgrade to Windows 10 becaus eI missed the boat on W7 hard and because I quite enjoy it.
It's also 'cuz I heard of the privacy invasions, and it's mostly my anxiety speaking.
I also don't like the scummy way they're forcing the update on people who don't turn updates off >_>

Yeah, basically that too.
I'll have Windows 10 on whatever future computers I have.
Which won't be for a while.
By then, seeing how Windows skipped 9 we'll be on...

Maybe, but I have a feeling they'll force earlier upgrades via games, etc. KI is a perfect example.

Hi everyone,

We’ve been chomping at the bit to share more about the great stuff coming in Season 3 of Killer Instinct, and Shadow Lords is a big part of that. Here’s a taste!

As you know, we’re always looking for ways to disrupt the norm in terms of what players expect from a fighting game, and for solo play, Shadow Lords is no exception. It’s an infinitely replayable solo player mode that pits you and a team of fighters that you’ve assembled against Gargos’ invasion of Earth.

We realized that most solo play modes were “one and done” and we didn’t want that for KI; we wanted to give you something you could sink your teeth into and come back to again and again, play it different ways, and challenge yourself every time you experienced it.

Shadow Lords is part ladder, part arcade mode, part story mode, and part roguelike, all rolled up into one unique experience.

· Your ultimate goal is to beat Gargos and his forces before he takes over the world. How fast that happens is completely up to how you play!
· Choose any character to “main” and assemble your team from across the entire roster of KI characters. Uneasy alliances abound!
· As characters are added to the game after launch, they’ll also come with new Shadow Lords content.
· There’s a lot of stuff to earn and craft in this mode, all of which can be obtained by playing. KI Gold will allow you to accelerate to get to some rarer stuff sooner to help in your fight against Gargos and his minions.
· The game features persistent items and elements that carry across multiple playthroughs.
· The new multiplayer mode we mentioned in the launch trailer ties into this mode and some of the things you can craft. We’ll be talking more about this later on in the season!

I’m sure everyone will tear into the screens (all WIP of course!) and the information you saw to put the pieces together on what this new mode could possibly offer, so use this forum to speculate and discuss!

We are very excited about this mode and what it means for KI into the future. We can’t wait to share more about it!

So my graphics didn't pass the performance test, but windowed with lowest settings runs fairly well to where I could probably easily play friendlies; I'M getting supreme edition tomorrow so yeah

If anyone wants to add me to play friendlies it's right over there.

Now, I don't have a wired Xbox controller, if someone knows how to get PS3 controllers working as 360 ones that'd be appreciated

aaaaaaaaaaand that's why i decided to back off from getting this for the PC. cause i have a similar build PC.... rip me.

I got 1009/1000 whatever the fuck that means. What's the upper limit on it?

The thing that I don't understand is that my score maxes out the graphics (or close to, I didn't look all that closely). Why doesn't a score that is only significantly lower like Daemyx's just lower the graphical defaults?

My rig for what it's worth (it is getting old, and she needs an upgrade):

CPU: i-5 3.4
RAM: 8GB
GPU: GTX 760 (which is slightly lower than recommended)

Yeah because you're rig isn't much different than mine.

How much RAM do you have?

You might also put in a help ticket because 500 seems stupidly low even if your computer wasn't able to play the game. I imagine it would be much closer to 1000.
 
I passed the test by lowering the resolution down to 640x360 and having everything on low or off. I have the following:
  • Video Card: GeForce GT 650M
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
  • CPU Speed: 2.5 GHz
  • Ram: 8.0 GB
 
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It works perfectly now. What the fuck that was weird. I passed with 1042/1000

I can play at 1080p now.
 
huh... okay. nvm then. sigh... maybe i should make a side hard drive that i can swap out that has windows 10 on it...
