Markman is one of the nicest dudes in this scene. And I'm pretty damned ashamed of anybody trying to give him shit over what happened.

That metaphor is accurate because no matter what people say at the end of the day it still sucked. I mean people certainly making this more than it is...but bottom line. A stream was promised weeks in advance..and the deadline was missed entirely. So people at home got shafted. I mean we can be okay with the minimum positive result and ignore everything and move on..but it won't change anything.

Honestly I'm annoyed I said anything in the stream chat ;_; if it wasn't nearly 11 at night for me I may have had some more restraint DX although im sure I said nothing over the top, sorry people :(
 
At least we can watch the tournament on YouTube tho so that's cool :D it may not be live but its better than not seeing it XD
 
its more of a semantics thing and also i shouldn't have to wait for youtube for something that was promised weeks ago..it probably should have been live by all means..I mean I sure enjoyed the empty chair and dubstep stream for the hours it ran.

but victimless crime lets all pretend nothing bad happened and carry on.

I never knew EVO was so emotional! I loved what time we did get and I'm so glad dekillsage won. At first I routed for Taluda and his Painwheel, but at least I can say he made it to TOP 4. I really think dekillsage deserved his win. After all, he is the teacher of his own dekillschool :0)

I already said that it sucked. Everybody thinks that it sucked. But making it to be more than that is just blowing things out of proportion.

I want to apologize to @TJGamer for calling him the wrong name through almost the entire stream until Mike and render corrected me. Adjusting to name changes is hard and I promise to do better in the future. I'd have said this sooner and in person but things were super crazy at the time for obvious reasons.

I'm not really making any highfalutin statements about how madcatz should go under or about Markman as a person (in fact he is a pretty cool guy)..I just think people have a right to be mad and say what they feel..and that we shouldn't just sweep this under the rug. I was using the phrase "victimless crime" not in the sense that it is an actual crime but because people seem to be under the impression that nobody has a right to be mad at all or that people who are upset are entitled.

Like dude you are literally misconstruing everything I say as hyperbole that we should do something stupid. I just disagree that saying negative things is blowing anything out of proportion. I had a friend in the tournament and Madkatz promised four times the stream time we got..I would have honestly been fine with no stream time by comparison. I am absolutely bummed about the whole thing, Like stuff happens and it did and that's acceptable..but I still don't like it nor do I really have to until the warnings start flying.

And also it helps me get over the whole thing by emptying my bile ducts.

It sucked. People should be annoyed. It's a sucky thing that happened. But you can't go on the internet and start throwing out terms and then saying you don't mean what it means. And I'm not calling you out personally, Humdinger, about talking bad about Markman but it *is* a thing that was happening. I got to see the same person shit on Markman in *3* different places on the web.

It's the *over*reaction that I'm calling out. If this were a consistent thing that happened I could see acting that way. But it's the first time. Calling for boycotts and such is just a bit much.

And saying that you'd be fine with no stream time rather than it being delayed? That pretty much is kinda hyperbolic.

Well like you calling out the toilet metaphor and my use of the word crime..like it was pretty obvious that it's not some sort of legal crime but I was just irked by a number of people who seem to want people like me to just go away and shut up about the whole thing..and like I was watching jojo and they just did the bit where polnareff had to lick the toilet in india. so I could have used a more mundane metaphor..but I liked the amount of poo jokes that could come out of a "crappy" situation.

Like either way we are basically going to have to go to youtube to catch the whole thing...but I would have preferred no stream..and no mess for anybody. No annoyed people or bad blood. Just fighting games. Like it was mostly people's expectations that were hit the hardest by the delay and everything. No stream probably would have resulted in a little less ire just generally for everybody. And we wouldn't be having this conversation.

It is still cool we got top four though and I don't mean to take away from the players who did get to play on stream for the world at large.
 
One thing I've learned on the internet: Nothing is ever obvious to all parties. Too many times I've seen people go full on hyperbolic and *mean* it. So if you're not doing this then that's cool. But you can't expect people not to take your words at face value.
 
Completely understandable, and I've had similar experiences. So from now on as a warning to any others confused. Unless I am posting some sort of news or debating in a completely serious manner, you should never take anything I say at face value. I mean I'm a penguin for christ's sake.

Now about that evo thing..

No need to apologize man, I didn't even think twice about it. As TJ is my real name I barely would have noticed haha. That does remind me though, I should look into changing my username on here....

Vadsamoht can change it.

Also just use TJ because only nerds use some handle and not their name/initials.

I can easily change usernames, but if you do then I won't be able to spam "GJ TJ" in the stream chat whenever you do something cool :^(

EDIT: I need you to type out the name, though, so I can just copy/paste instead of having to worry about if caps/hyphens/etc. are correct.
 
Since it is hard to reply to things on my dumb phone I will just say this.
Its Swiftfox-Dash because swiftfox is my species. =p I used the name on my steam because a furry friend asked me to make one and I started playing a lot of SG under that tag and it grew on me.
Also Vad, you can still call me TJ as its what I go by irl. Just I go by Dash by most online.

I hate to be stingy, but Mad Catz was managing the stream. No matter what happens, it's up to them to control everything that happens on it. If they were supposed to make something happen and it didn't, it's still ultimately their fault. Even if MarkMan had to leave, it's still their responsibility. Yes, I agree that we are probably lucky that we got any time at all, but when all's said and done, thousands of viewers were promised a specific block of time, and then after those viewers shifted their schedules (some people I know had to work double-shifts at work or call off) to accommodate what we were promised, we were completely shafted. I agree that some of us are being a little out-of-line, but a little outrage is deserved, IMHO.

You just need to time the dhc differently. Like dynamo into double's level 3.
