@render for bringing Indivisible and being a generally swell guy as always. Running the prototype (36min no death Clearest! is a nice bit of success) was a nice change of pace that really helped my mood a lot, as was learning that my feeling of being overwhelmed by Skullgirls is not uniquely mine.
@renderling I wish I realized you were the graphics programmer, because I would have loved to talk in depth about how you are doing your work (even if my work is more industry visualization than games, and involves an OpenGL 3.3-based forward renderer, ironically).
@joshb911,
@MegaMix, @knotd, and
@akindhobo for being great roommates. Also, @knotd is a super generous guy and would probably never say it themselves. Also,
@akindhobo, if you want to learn more Guilty Gear basics check out
Guilty Gear Crash Course. 7AM GGXrd tutorializing while nearly hallucinating from fatigue was fun.
@Broseidon Rex and
@dapurplesharpie for always making me feel welcome, even when I'm sure I'm frustrating, granted I didn't get to talk to
@dapurplesharpie as much as last year.
@Psychopath sorry again for exploding at/near you, and I'm glad we could chat about it and get to know each other better afterwards.
@carbonbae Great Val cosplay, and also you just seemed pretty cool, even though I'm sure you were fairly anxious (since you said something about that).
@mcpeanuts for bringing Flash Duel. I'd never played it before and always wanted to, and now that I have I'm really impressed. I'm not sure how deep it is, but Setsuki is a blast to play: Consequences, what consequences?
@Natezer for playing me in Flash Duel, and generally keeping that table going. That being said, Vendetta against a newcomer is kinda cruel, though I suppose so was Setsuki.
@Skarmand for being helpful and kind as always, though I do know what I need to work on, so while I appreciate more advice I want to internalize the current set of it first. Also, good job representing Canada.
@Clawsome Bombs for playing me in the best set I had all weekend, being an all-around supportive person, and also helping me indirectly learn exactly what my next focus needs to be for improvement (combo consistency). I'm still facepalming at winning neutral 6 times in a row and only taking off 90% health solo vs duo.
@matlokholmes and
@Shadowstew Good to see you two again, though we didn't get to chat much this year.
@Fizzxwizz I finally got to meet you in person, that was neat, though we didn't talk much.
@FuLLBLeeD Also nice to see you again, even if I'm not playing Fortune anymore.
The woman with the stickered-up Hori Mini 3 (
@Grodie?). I kinda wanted to say hi, partly because I have that stick as well (was my first, minus the stickers), but I never got the chance.
There was also a BB player who's tag I forgot, and who probably isn't here, but they laid down a crash course for Noel, which I hope I remembered something from.
@Dolfinh IIRC I played BBCPEX against you a bit, and that was fun.
@PocketRumbleDev Thanks for bringing the game and bringing June with it, because I'm now super excited to play her again. I find that a bit weird because I generally gravitate towards rushdown, but as I said in person she's Athena + Dizzy, and I like those two characters.
@Rizil for keeping me company at O'Hare before we left. Too bad we couldn't go hunting, though.
@thehadou for organizing the whole thing. This was so much roomier than last year, and the casuals setups were a godsend. I kinda wish the location wasn't so remote, but the Mega Center seemed well suited to the event.
I probably missed a bunch of you, but I appreciated seeing you too.
