Peacock Combo Thread


I made this combo because I found it easier to execute while doing decent damage (9.2k for 2 meter, 7.5k for 1)
It may not be the best, but hopefully it helps someone.

lp (x2), s.mp, s.mk,
j.mp, j.hk, qcb.mk,
sj.lk, j.mp, j.hp,
adc j.lp, j.mp, j.mk,
s.hk, qcb hp.(hold), qcf x2p(lp+mp)
release hp, qcf x2p(lp+mp)

Air grab version:

j.lk(restand), s.lp, s.mk,
j.mp, j.hk, sj.lk, j.mp, j.hp,
adc j.lp, j.mp, j.mk,
s.hk, qcb hp.(hold), qcf x2p(lp+mp)

Sometimes mk doesn't launch the opponent as high as normal. Often times it's from an otg, but sometimes it's from point blank or max range on standing opponents. It's not consistent as far as I know. Does anybody know what causes that?

I've seen this as well and yeah it's weird. I want to say it happens if you hit an airborne opponent with s.MK?
 
i was thinking the same thing until it happened to a grounded target. Did I pop them up somehow?

I'll occasionally get it with something like OTG c.LP s.MK, because hitting OTG pops them up off the ground. Do you remember what combo you were doing where you saw it happening?
 
I don't remember specifically. I'll have to keep an eye out and start recording the next time I catch it.

I remember that once it did happen during a raw launch punish for double car and another time for SSJ. But outside of that I didn't keep track.
 
And here I thought I had a good combo. After not checking here in a while I feel bad posting this.

s.lp s.mp s.hk *qcb.hp**
dash jump j.mk dash j.lk j.hk***
land then jump j.mp j.hp dash j.lp j.mp
s.mp s.kh qcb.hp qcf.pp

* delay to move Pea forward, not needed on bigger characters
**use qcb.mp for smaller characters
***good reset point, either land jump j.lp j.hk dash throw or change the j.lk to j.mp j.mk assist call teleport

This only uses about 80-85% drama and does around 7k, I'd have to go double check the numbers and it's hard to read because I play on a CRT. I know this isn't optimized at all, but it works well on most of the cast. I will admit I'm having problems landing it on Painwheel and Filia/Fukua. Any advice on what to change or how I could make it better? This may be a better combo for after a reset due to the drama, but still needs OTG so you can't do it after an air throw. Main reason I've been using this one is it makes the adc easier to land for me.

What are good bnbs for her midscreen by herself? 1-2 meters prolly since beta yeah.

I'm only getting like 7.3k 1 meter on PS3 heeelp

I don't know, I use assists for all my combos. I asked the same thing when I was putting together the Peacock Compendium and couldn't get a response.
 
Hm okay, guess I need to experiment with H Bomber and Pillar more.
 
I actually have a video put together of beta combos that I haven't uploaded yet because I was still toying with corner and throw combos. I'll see about getting it uploaded today.

@keninblack what combo are you doing? I'm pretty sure I'm getting that even with the argus nerf in beta.

Here's an easy one for you Ken.
s.lp s.mp s.mk, j.hk airdash j.hk, j.hp airdash j.lp j.mp, s.lp s.mp LP Bang (stagger), dash c.lk s.mp s.hk soid [hold] Argus release soid.
If you get the level 3 item to hit them it does almost 8 K.
You can also skip the LP bang stagger link and go right into a s.hk so you can do two arguses for a little over 9K
 
Here you go @keninblack. A bunch of assist specific stuff but I think your assists can probably be worked in.

Was planning on using some of this stuff for a big combo video project down the line, so this is a small ssample. Planning on doing it once the game stops getting changes and I don't have to worry about stuff not working anymore lol.

Corner combo totally not stolen from @Mr Peck.

EDIT: Well s***. Mike changed argus again. Good thing I haven't done the full video yet :V

EDIT2: The new argus doesn't really seem to change the old beta damage unless you miss a lot of the small lasers so your damage should be about the same as the ones in the video. If anything, I can now end my combos with lvl 3 item drop instead which ups my damage a bit.

That's just the big body combo. Do it on Parasoul or bigger/heavier characters. Finicky on lighter characters. I hate it on Double.


Edit: There's no real point in pointing this out. I just recognized it from when I stole it from World Jem so I could combo big band. I don't know who originally made it.

Question for you, I can't seem to get the last chain to work against Bella. I'm always too far away for the s.HK to connect. Any suggestions?

Either of these work, thanks. I just wanted to confirm before I put the combo in the compendium.

Also I didn't realize how much damage ending your combo with c.HP s.HK xx H item xx Argus did. I probably will keep using my Beat Extend assist combo but using this ender it does 8.4k for 1 bar which in the beta I think is pretty good.

Thanks Caio! Just for laughs I checked retail with item drop starter and it does over 11000 damage loooooooooooool this character

Couldn't get it to work on Double but if I leave out the j.MP j.HK part that works fine.

Is the BnB thread targeted at beginners? Because personally I think the s.HK xx M item link is sort of difficult.
 
The first or the last one? the first one is super easy if you delay the item to keep the momentum from the s.hk but the last can be a bit hard on heavies...

Also it's not targeted at beginners
 
I thought there were 3 tiers of bnb.

Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.

In that case it's fine. Although maybe also post the midscreen 1 bar combo you came up with?

Unrelated to your BnB thread, is it worth it to go for Lenny mid combo? Doesn't seem like the damage you get off it is as good as just ending in Argus -> item drop.
 
I feel like lenny's only place is in combos specifically for lenny. If you can go either way, the damage says to just stick with argus and item drop.
