Also, Kanami's last name is wrong in the description unless in english, her last name is actually Kitchen.

Kanamin Kitchen is probably the name of the group and Kanamin is the star of that group.

...I can't help but notice that Yu is the only character that got a new talk sprite instead of just taking the older P4 sprites and editing the DAN outfit on top of it.

Only part of the game that I'm putting any expectance on are the remixes of songs and so far I haven't heard anything I don't like
 
but we probably won't get remixes for anything but persona 4, except maybe persona 3 dlc

and that's a shame because persona/smt has so much more to offer

why can't i dance to this for instance

In P4DAN, I could see ome Catherine and other SMT series, like Digital Devil Saga and Nocturne, maybe even 4 show up as free place themes maybe? I'd assume they would be free play themes.

1. Second game has a lot more questionable content that likely wouldn't fly round these parts of the world than the first.

2. Aside from the fact that I meant official translations, Aeon Genesis has been proven to have a chaos bias. I don't trust their translations.
 
I don't know uch about SMT II, I've played 1 and it as OK, but from what I've read up on II, it's definitely darker :/
Anyone else notice the striking similarities in SMT IV and Soul Hackers? I did. You get no money for anything other than grinding items, quests, negotiation, or in Soul Hackers, you could just cheat or put the game down for, like, ever and then come back to being filthy rich! :D

But yeah, 4 and Soul Hackers feel very similar. I like 4, but....well...3 is still my all time favorite, for both main series SMT game and P3 is mah favorite Persona. Can't beat that awkward DMC2 Dante cameo man! XD
 
In Soul Hackers' case, you can get filthy rich by just trading a ton of Magnetite every now and then.
 
True. I just traded a maxed out demon for a ticket, turned that in, put the game down for almost a year, came back, and boom, richer than I really need to be. I'm still stuck on the dungeon I was stuck on then...walkthroughs ho!
 
That Dolphin...It took me forever to figure that out. Nah, I'm stuck at...where am I stuck at again? A large building where you have to put in a bunch of codes on different floors, though it won't let me go to floors I need to get to. Silly game.
 
I was just thinking, why ARE the main SMT and Persona threads separate? Especially since the Persona thread seems to catch a lot of the main SMT discussion too.
 
...we have an SMT thread? We've been talking almost exclusively SMT for the last couple pages...
 
There are two different threads yes. I remember posting something about SMT 1 in this thread forever ago. We should really just fuse the threads. Also this thread does say SMT on it and it can get confusing (I am aware that that SMT is in the title of the Persona games but I have never heard of anyone referring to them in that way).

The Mainline SMT series got a spinoff called "Shin Megami Tensei: if..." which is the predecessor to the Persona games. It takes place in a hypothetical reality where Tokyo doesn't get wrecked in SMT 1.

The persona franchise is a different series because it focuses on jungian psychology and a more character driven narrative than (the then) SMT mainline series.

The thing that gets me about the old SMT games is that despite having pretty basic plots they are surprisingly good at telling their narratives. SMTII is pretty heavy with it's themes and I really with Atlus would give it a chance.

Also, first time hearing that AG has a chaos bias, care to elaborate?

Do keep in mind that SMT talk will probably take a backseat once DAN and P5 come barreling into our lives, so get it out here while you can, I guess

Strange Journey will always be the real SMT IV in my heart.
 
SMT4's in a weird situation where like

It takes place during SMT1. Rather, it happens within the 30 year span that the SMT1 group is gone.

My thread was actually intended for both. Then Ultimax got a thread and quickly buried it, then morphed into the main Persona topic.

Now we're back where we started. So, uh...

I hope they do DLC. Perhaps a P3 pack, an SMT (most likely 3 and 4 remixes and stuff) pack, and maybe a classic pack that has P2 themes, maybe a pack for some of those sick Raidou and Digital Devil Saga themes, too :D

Yo guys! We need a Persona medley of awesome! Battle themes into boss themes and then some! I always love it when rhythm games throw super long medley remixes in to play through. Long, tough, and they my ears explode from the awesomeness! I hope DAN has some as well...
