DC is a REALLY GOOD reversal in two primary situations:

When pw is locked down on the ground by a lockdown assist while the point is attacking.
When pw pushblocks an early attack on a grounded multihit normal.

Both via pbgc. Non pbgc reversal dc is usually kinda bad though.

Wow... Its funny what goes for a bad reversal nowadays. A characters reversal is bad because it can be easily offensively baited in one matchup?

Depends on a lot of things still. If you pbgc Filias c.mk > s.hk your DC whiffs completely. Others have small windows that seem like it should work but it doesn't (none come to mind, but I can lab if needed). I usually DC reversal if someone is being a tad too predictable or if I'm desperate. I've found that I'm usually better off getting into block and pushblocking my way to freedom.

And that's the crux isn't it? There are so many great reversals that people complain about things like Peacock's knife that don't work 100% of the time but still function as a decent reversal. I'm guilty of it myself. Thresher as a reversal would be super boss in most games, and I downplay it all the time. Hell, DC is more reliable of a reversal than any of my supers in Xrd are, yet here I am talking about how it isn't...

But like I said, there is quite a gap between good defense and no defense in this game.
 
Theres a huge reason why i have an unadulterated hate for filia st.hk... And that is one of them.
 
good thing sek didn't get that command throw we saw in concepts.

So I was testing out some stuff regarding Eliza's IAD j.MK after a pushblock from a distance and the j.MK is beat out by kind of a lot of stuff (due to extended hurtbox) if you know they want to IAD back in. Quite a few characters can actually counterhit it into 8-9k damage combos. (belle can get 10k+ off a counterhit c.MP/c.MK/devil horns)

I'll try to compile a video of ways to deal with different Eliza airdash stuff. Obviously there are variants and mixups Eliza can do so she isn't as predictable in her approach but might help for people to realize she does take some heavy risks.
 
Came in to thread on a part of people suggesting Val take a nerf in mobility and the images of drinking a choice IPA from the Skulls of SG players came into my head....

Oh...anyway, I like doing Snapbacks to gain solo health. Snapbacks are cool.

hey i just found out that you can do peacocks lower iad by plinking j.mk into airdash now that kk is a valid dash input which is pretty neato

I don't know if this works with your assists, but with L Beat Extend I found I can end blockstrings with qcf+MK+HP xx qcf+LK, the end result of which is they block my assist, then block an L bomb, then block an M bomb. The whole thing seems to be a true blockstring and is quite a bit more than +1 on block.
 
Oh...anyway, I like doing Snapbacks to gain solo health. Snapbacks are cool.
If snapback = health thing goes into the main game, I hope the displayed amount of red health specifically for solos is set at 2/3 of what it is now so whenever it happens they get 100% of the red bar (or 50% if hitting an assist)

Just UI thing I was thinking about.
 
You played Eliza when no one knew what she did and she could heal like 50% of her health solo. Btw, there is no difference between Fukua's weakness to throws and Eliza's weakness to throws. If you jump to avoid a throw, you get a punish off an airdash if you do it fast enough, and that means you get to setplay or just take a full combo which you can end in a hard knockdown or that knockdown you get from her air super. She needs both, apparently.


Also I guess no one noticed the other reasons I hate Eliza, and decided to only talk about how you can't use sek at neutral well, when that doesn't mean anything to me when if I get read at neutral I instantly die for the risk of 1 bar.

She spends like a bar and a half for two reps of that axe ground bonce thing and finishing the combo with Eliza nets you like 8.5K damage... is that really all that big of a deal? I'm sure I'm not optimizing this at all but I don't think Sekmet actually does all that much damage compared to the meter you spend on her. Most characters can crack 10K if you're willing to spend 2 bars.
 
Who besides bella and big band can hit 10k for 2 bars?
 
I've never seen her ToD in a real match but beamsprouts has killed me from 80% health before lol.
I can ToD for two bars in 2v3 but it no longer works after the changes in beta (everyone has more health + Peacock damage nerfs)

people were complaining about solo output, and now I learn peacock could ToD 2v3...what
 
With charge and 2 meters, I can hit about 10k with squigly in the corner. Pretty specific, but it's doable
 
So like. Can Eliza get a buff on recovery with her lady of slaughter? If she only has one bar of meter and she combos into it and has used the OTG in the corner, almost everyone gets a free grab or combo punish off of her for doing that. Is it possible to make sekmet land right ON eliza and automatically go inside rather than a couple of inches away?
Edit: scratch that, everybody gets a free combo punish on her
 
I'd personally prefer if she didn't go right back into Eliza, mostly because it would mess with the Lenny > Lady of slaughter DHC.

That's punch charge right? I can only get to 9.6k without assists

Just tested it, you're right caio, I only get 9.6

If it dropped you on top of Eliza's anchor every time, would you still be unsafe?

If your meter usage isn't going to kill, wouldn't you be better off finishing with air super anyway?

Nope your still unsafe because you would have to have time to get in. I am all for Sekmet staying out, but I want an option to automatically land in the anchor upon descending in air.

I guess that would be helpful but I honestly don't know why you would use the meter on lady of slaughter if it won't kill when you can get a hard knockdown with air super and only lose out on about 300 damage.

I have a crazy thought, what if Peacock's level 3 explosion was similar to that of Lenny's? So you could combo off it in corners or do the s.hp into H teleport to followup. I dunno, guess I am just genuinely bothered a little about how Goodfella's only use is to be a flashy finisher. I mean after a ground throw you can do Lenny-Argus into a follow up and get at least 6.5K (more than Goodfellas for less meter) or use a third bar for 8K.

Id be ok with this only if it gets max scaling from the follow up. I mean, its still a throw starter!
 
Anyone have an opinion on Bella's MGR losing hit invincibility? I didn't see anyone talking about it. Realized that It'll no longer be able to grab someone who turtles behind their assist (a lot of people). Is there anyone who feels like this nerf needed to happen? I haven't heard anyone really complain about that move before.
