Those would be the four sons of Horus, which include a jackal head and a hawk head, thus not referencing A&H.
actually, they are even in order, the baboon protectects the lungs, the jackal the stomach, the man the liver and the hawk the intestines. so perfectThose would be the four sons of Horus, which include a jackal head and a hawk head, thus not referencing A&H.
No need to be prissy about having a theory disproved. We don't exactly have a lot to go on for most of these characters.

The burst? It's Sekhmet's Aegis.

Alex had previously confirmed that if a Skullgirl is defeated but the Skull Heart isn't wished upon (where the current Skullgirl would be replaced with a new one), she will regenerate sooner or later.
Bingo. That's why it wasn't a stretch for me. We've seen she's rather powerful, and if she got zapped back due to certain conditions, or just because no wish was made, she'd catch her second wind, know what went wrong last time and just assemble all the floating crap that's in the stage to wreak havoc.
Again, if that is true, then where is Selene and Nancy (assuming we take the ending seriously)? Cuz they should still be alive since the skullheart was never wished upon when they had it. With that being said, if Selene is still alive, I think I know who she could be:Alex had previously confirmed that if a Skullgirl is defeated but the Skull Heart isn't wished upon (where the current Skullgirl would be replaced with a new one), she will regenerate sooner or later.
Assuming that the post-credit scene is to be taken seriously (i.e. within the context of what would be canonical possible for the characters to do and not just a joke ending), then I think it might be possible that Double gave Marie more power to regenerate faster than she would in the other stories where the Heart wasn't wished upon, because, unlike in the other threads where Double is simply going through the motion of continuing the Skullgirl cycle, she actually has personal vendetta against Eliza and is actually serious about destroying her.

To be honest, I don't know how that whole regeneration thing works.View attachment 6613
Both are mothers (or at least motherly)
The problem with that is that we saw Eliza smash the Skull Heart, so there's no explanation for Marie's regeneration. Then again it could just be Double pulling some bullshit to get at Eliza.
remember Squigly had an ending after her story as well, it was not a joke. also Skullheart Arrhythmia is essentially Marie's theme so it fits, I dont think it was a joke

Yep, I understand what you guys mean. Let me elaborate my post a bit more. Basically, if the Skull Heart is destroyed (well, temporarily since it's been heavily hinted at in the stories that it can't truly be destroyed by smashing it), the Skullgirl is "destroyed" as well. However, given the fact that the Skullheart can't be destroyed, I don't think the Skullgirl can be truly destroyed either, unless she is replaced by a new one.
In Fukua's story mode, which was a joke in its entirety. You honestly mean to tell us that Fukua's story mode was meant to set a precedent for things like this? Very unlikely.
